Rained out
Got to the course and the skies were clearing, however the course was closed and the office locked up due to heavy rain all morning and more on the way.. Called Golf Now VIP and they refunded the round.
Back Again
The weather was just beautiful and the course was in spring condition. The course gets a lot of traffic so the tee boxes are somewhat chewed up, but the fairways are in decent shape for this time of year. The greens are fast and roll true. The bottom line is for the price you get a good round of golf on a decent course.
Great Day
Super time. Staff was very friendly. People remembered to distance socialize
overall course was in good condition. The fairways need some work. The greens were fast and impossible to stop downhill putts.pace of play was excellent,31/2 hours with a foursome.A lot of trees in dumb spots.Would recommend playing, worth the money and time!!
Inverness
felt bad, no sand on the cart to fill divots and no rakes on cart or in traps, couldn't rake after playing out of trap
did you pay for those balls?
Unfriendly staff will call you out if you hit a left over ball on their horrendous golf range. You hit from the bottom and the members hit from the top. They seem confrontational. They should be happy that people even show up.
I see a lot of good reviews. I wonder if any of these reviews played at other places and more than 5 times a year?
Want a real golf experience? Try Skyview, twisted oaks, Brooksville cc, world woods, Juliette falls just to name a few with real amenities with a touch of class!
Typical golf course experience
Today's round at Inverness Golf course was enjoyable because we played with a great couple from MPLS, MN. The conditions of the course were typical, dry, very thin fairways, below average tee box conditions, greens that don't hold all that well, but roll fine and bunkers that many fail to rake.. Because of so much cart traffic it's tough for Inverness to do much about it. Design of course made it fun and somewhat challenging. I'd recommend not paying to much for your experience , but know this course will still be a decent experience.
Greens were great
Florida greens sometimes are less than desirable to putt on. Thes greens had hardly or any bare spots or turfing. Tee boxes were a little worn but pace of play was phenomenal and course layout is challenging but fair
Dated with little upkeep
Greens were decent. Fairways and tee boxes were terrible. This is obviously a club course, turned public, which has seen it’s better days. They need a superintendent that knows how to grow grass and kill weeds.
We had no one in front or behind us, and we played the front in 2 hours and 15 minutes. Despite that, when we went in for a beverage at the turn, the desk attendant accosted us for slow play. Unpleasant end to several days of Florida golf.
Bobb
Really enjoyed the back 9, front 9 just a little boring. Tee boxes need a little work but overall course is in pretty good condition. Staff said 138 players per day so not bad for that kind of use. The staff were very friendly, helpful and engaged in conversation about the course. I will be back there playing for sure.
Inverness Country Club
Course was in very good shape & the layout is moderately challenging. The only negative was the slow pace of play on the front nine. The foursome in front of us (twosome), had no idea what golf course manners are? Finally passed them on the 10th hole & it was smooth sailing after that. No rangers to be seen, but other than that, very enjoyable back nine.
Good value with friendly folks all around.
Played here while we had relatives visiting the area. Comfortable course populated with friendly people, staff and players, both.
