Rude starters
Played this course several times. My only gripe is they pack every one on the same courses. No one was there but they put 3 groups out immediately after us. Elderly groups breathing down our necks. We were driving down to tee box and one of the starter’s screaming at us for no reason. These guys that’ need some semblance of power are so rude! They need to treat their customers with more respect!!!
27 hole gem
This course should be on your list of Plymouth courses to play. Three different nines and challenges for all levels.
Underrated.
Good challenge. Many difficult approach shots. Good vistas from the tee boxes with many elevation changes.
Worth the trip, and definitely in my rotation.
Great course on a cold day
Played Crosswinds on a very cold, windy 40 degree day. In spite of that, the course was in very good shape and the staff was outstanding. Crosswinds has some very interesting and challenging holes cut through the Plymouth rolling hills. Not an easy course. They have 3 sets of 9 holes, allowing for various combos each day. I recommend this course to anyone experiencing Plymouth golf for the first time. I will definitely come back when it warms up.
Great Day
Got a hot deal from Golf Now. Starter was very helpful and the we teed off at time we signed up for. Course was in good shape for early spring. Very challenging but very fair. Wide fairways with traps placed in strategic places. Not walkable with hills on every hole. Greens were rolling fast even though not cut but rolled. Would l8ke to play it in summer.
My local favorite!
Always a great choice to play Crosswinds, course in great condition for February
Nothing like being rushed @ the golfcorse...I get to the course early to practice,NOT to rushed an to be sent right out!..if I was looking to play speed golf I would!
Lawsuits
Regardless of whether it is winter golf, or not, you cannot discriminate against individuals who have a disability! Part of the American with Disabilities Act, allows individuals with disabilities to be able to partake in a round of golf without being inconvenience, or hindered, during their round of play. They roped off the whole course, and forced one of our individuals to walk to his ball. This is wrong, as well as embarrassing for the course. Stay tuned, as the individual is meeting with an attorney.
GREEDY
One question.. whatever happened to the winter rates? Everyone else has dropped their Greens fees, except this establishment. Hugs get slaughtered! I will never play here again!
The course is challenging and well kept
Loved the layout and difficulty of some of the holes, the greens and fairways were well maintained. The staff member at the beginning of the round was rude when we were asking where to get carts from (our first time golfing there. Other then that one gentlemen it was a great time .
Hard Course
Cross Winds is Nice there’s no doubt about that offering 3 9 hole courses you never know what one you’re going to get. That being said none of these three courses are easy. There all infact pretty hard. I would not recommend coming here if you’re a weekend play who can’t break 100 with a high level of confidence.
Good, but could have been better
The course layout was dynamic and interesting, and the conditions overall were very good. My only critique regarding conditions is that some of the men’s tee boxes were a bit chewed up.
My primary complaints are pace of play and staffing at the bar. They had 2 starters working, but no rangers. Took us 5 hours to play 18, much of which was spent waiting on the tee box, which is not what you want for a course that is relatively expensive and an hour from Boston. Then, just when we thought we were done waiting, we had to wait around 10 mins to order beers at the turn, and again after the round. This is because the bar wasn’t efficiently laid out, but also because the bar was understaffed with the one bartender, while there were two bored employees on their phones at the front desk.
Overall I’d go back and play the course again. It’s decent, but with some minor management improvements, it could be great.
