Legendary Run Golf Club
About
Golf architect Arthur Hills designed the Legendary Run, an affordable facility that offers country club-caliber golf in spic-and-span surroundings and with what management calls "the friendliest service in the world." Scottish links golf courses inspired the front nine of the golf course, which sits on 200 acres of land and features six lakes, and holes are named accordingly: Troon, St. Andrews and Turnberry, for some examples. It's a different story on the back nine, which weaves through woods and was influenced by holes closer to home, such as those found at Augusta, Winged Foot and Shinnecock.
Book two weeks in advance to ensure you get on for a round on the Legendary Run golf course, and leave your metal spikes at home - there's no reason to worry, as, conditions permitting, you can take your golf cart off the path if necessary. A far cry from Cincinnati's recreational golf courses, this one requires a collared shirt (mock, if you must) and non-denim pants (shorts work, too). The pro shop will dress you if need be.
A bonus for eco-thinking golfers: The Legendary Run counts itself among the members of the Audubon Sanctuary Program and enforces respect of the natural habitat.

Rough greens
Course is a beutiful layout and in good condition. Green we’re very bumpy and not cut. It was impossible to make a putt. It was a shame.
Nice layout
Course was in great shape but greens need to be roll they were pretty bumpy.pace of play was slow.
Pace of Play
Always nice people in clubhouse and out. Pace of play usually an issue, worse on Sunday 5 hrs. too long. No marshals moving folks along. Its difficult when groups are sent off as quickly as they are without sufficient on course management.
Great layout but looking worn
Legendary Run is a wonderful track modeled after some of the best holes golf has to offer. It provides unique challenges on each hole, and rarely offers a flat lie. Scoring well on this course requires smart course management, but where's the fun in that? My disappointment with the course on this day has to do with the condition of the course, as it is showing signs of abuse. The fairways show ruts and bare divots left behind by careless players. The greens are marked with unrepaired ball marks, scuff marks from shoes, and the occasional wedge rut from a careless club toss. I hate to see a layout of this quality show such a lack of caring by its players.
Overall it is well worth a visit, but I am glad i didn't pay full rate.
Great Day At Lengendary Run
My friend and I arrived at the course early and after a quick warm up the starter got us out early. We had to wait on very few shots and that's only because a single player jumped in front of at the turn. The course takes some thinking to be able to score but doesn't penalize you unnecessarily for miss hits. Greens were a bit slower than I like but rolled true. Lots of drinking water on the course. I'll be back!
Unique layout.
The course was in excellent condition. The front 9 is more of a links layout, but the back 9 plays more like a woodlands course. The course is challenging, but with the variety of tee boxes available, it should be enjoyable for all skill levels. There is a very nice clubhouse and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would play this course a lot if I lived just a little bit closer.
Nice Conditions but slow play, slow greens
Course was in great shape. Greens were true but fairly slow -- not sure if they are leaving the greens a little longer to save them in the summer heat or just didn't have time to cut them. They were fine once you got used to the pace. Always seems to play fairly slow the first 5-6 holes and then opens up a little but still expect about a 5 hour round if you play when it is crowded. Very good challenging layout with lots of different types of holes --- recommend playing it if you've never been there.
Great Course
We played one tee in from the tips and the course offered plenty of challenges. Reachable par 5s, challenging par 4s, tighter fairways on the back 9, green were rolling smooth.
Great Deal
Very good course. All you can handle.
Very good condition.
Great course
Love the layout, conditions can vary from real nice to above avg. the course is worth what they charge. Nice range but would love to see a chipping green with a bunker though.
Great public course
Had a spectacular day with 80 degree temps on a terrific golf course. Pace of play was pretty good until the 12th hole. I was playing as a single and the 4 some ahead of me kept up a good pace. The ranger checked on me at 10 and told me there was a slow group of women a few groups ahead that were slowing things up. No worries, the weather was great. We hit a wall at 12 (Tee'd off at 12:54, hit the wall at 4:00). I decided to jump ahead so I could finish before dark. Sure enough a slow group of women with 2 open holes ahead of them. I jumped to 14 and blew around the last 5 holes in an hour. Only down side for the day. :-)
