Legendary Run Golf Club
About
Golf architect Arthur Hills designed the Legendary Run, an affordable facility that offers country club-caliber golf in spic-and-span surroundings and with what management calls "the friendliest service in the world." Scottish links golf courses inspired the front nine of the golf course, which sits on 200 acres of land and features six lakes, and holes are named accordingly: Troon, St. Andrews and Turnberry, for some examples. It's a different story on the back nine, which weaves through woods and was influenced by holes closer to home, such as those found at Augusta, Winged Foot and Shinnecock.
Book two weeks in advance to ensure you get on for a round on the Legendary Run golf course, and leave your metal spikes at home - there's no reason to worry, as, conditions permitting, you can take your golf cart off the path if necessary. A far cry from Cincinnati's recreational golf courses, this one requires a collared shirt (mock, if you must) and non-denim pants (shorts work, too). The pro shop will dress you if need be.
A bonus for eco-thinking golfers: The Legendary Run counts itself among the members of the Audubon Sanctuary Program and enforces respect of the natural habitat.

Quietness
Very very wet, would love to play AGAIN when dry and warmer, will revisit someday when in area again, unique layout felt l was lost most of the time on back side. Noisy neighbors, a lot of distractions on back side. Residents cutting grass blowing leaves, construction, not for the golfer who likes quieter surroundings
Enjoyable Course and Friendly Staff
My 30 minute drive to get to the course was well worth it as the entire experience was enjoyable. Super friendly and helpful clubhouse staff, good practice (warm-up) range, putting green, etc. Great complimentary yardage book and clean, well-adjusted cart. The front 9 has a links character and the back an eastern U.S.flavor. Each hole is unique; no boredom here. Course was in very good shape, particularly this late in the summer with thousands of rounds having been played. I was happy to play the ball down on all but a couple of shots in the fairway and around the greens. Bent greens in good shape but a little long (slow) probably in response to the unusually hot weather this week. Tees had just been aerated but were entirely playable. The bunkers had actually been raked and were playable. Yardage markers on the course (plates, sprinkler heads, etc.) were plentiful and seemed accurate. Multiple sets of tees allow the course to be as challenging as you would like. Folks in the grill/bar were very friendly and efficient. All up, this public facility reminded me of the last few good private clubs I've played. My only suggestion is that they move the course closer to my home.
Time to play Golf
I played on Saturday with 7 friends, 2 foursomes at 8:08 & 8:18. We we nearly through 9 at 2hrs 10 min when the ranger tells us we are playing too slow. They had us start on the back nine. Then on the front nine he did it again. We finished before 12:30.
I play golf to enjoy the time and not be rushed. Pace of play is important when you holding people up. We were not holding anyone up behind our two foursomes.
We have a weekend get together every year. We will go somewhere else next year as we did not feel welcome here. We will take $400+ elsewhere.
Great course
The course is very nice especially the tee boxes and traps. The greens rolled true, however several of the greens were either under repair or had burn spots, which affected play. The course winds through a very nice neighborhood, which also makes it tough to walk. Not as challenging as I had hoped, but a great track.
Not good after rain
Got stuck with the cart-path only and put with another 2-some for the front 9. Was expecting the course would have drained better after a rain the night before. Got stuck behind a slow 3-some that wouldn't let us through. Do like the front & back are of different styles... flat/links front and hilly back. Got a really good deal on golfnow.
Perfect
First time player, exactly what I was looking for in a course from the layout to the staff. All around a great course and a challenging but extremely fun play. Highly recommend.
Worth It!!!
Legendary Run is one amazing golf experience. Challenges come from tee to green on most holes. Greens and fairways were in excellent shape and the bunkers are true sand.
The staff was so friendly and helpful. All smiles and great service! I drove over 40 minutes one way to experience this gem. The drive and the price were more than worth it! I'm looking forward to booking another tee time here in short order!
Must play for those who are advanced, but all can enjoy the experience.
Great Course
Course is always in good shape, staff is always accommodating. The front nine is a links style course with each hole mimicking a famous links hole and the back nine is traditional with each hole mimicking a famous hole, so the course is very unique. The course is challenging for your above average golfer and multiple set of tee boxes can challenge the scratch golfer.
Great time
As soon as we walked into the door we were treated like we play there every week. Everyone was so nice. They course was awesome with a wide variety of holes. If it were a little closer to me it would become my home course.
Man up on this course!!
Legendary Run has always been a great track. If you can find a Hot Deal, then it is a bargain. I played from the gold tees, and all I can say is put your big boy pants on!! This is truly a challenging course!! The fairways were fast and firm, and the rough was gnarly and tough. Putting balls in the fairway is at a premium. The greens are in great condition, and they were firm and fast. Make sure you leave uphill putts. I made the mistake of putting a ball on the top tier on hole 9, and it was fun just 3 putting!! The staff is always friendly and the course is in peak condition. For a public course it is tough to find a better conditioned layout.
Course is in good shape
Nice layout, nice practice facilities, good amenities. The extra hole at the end is a really nice touch. (Too bad that birdie didn't go on the card!)
Love the uniqueness
Love the uniqueness Of having to completely different golf courses on the front and back nine.
It's worth the money
This is a well kept course, fantastic greens, welcoming, knowledgable and passionate staff... Good value and free beer ticket!
Excellent Course. Greens Auerated though
Beautiful course. Well taken care of. Drains well. Be careful on back 9 though, many houses along fairway. Your tee shot needs to be well placed. Only drawback of playing their yesterday were that the greens are being Auerated, so it was kinda bumpy when putting. But not enough to cause serious problems. Everything else was excellent.
Legendary Run
Course was in fantastic shape especially for November in this area. Greens were quick and in great shape. Overall a very pleasant experience!
Wet
played this course after we had rain the night before and part of the morning. The course staff was extremely friendly upon our arrival we were informed that we would be pushed back about 15 min to allow the course to drain more, which was not a problem. The one thing I would have recommended was to at least give us a free range token (we were informed we could purchase a range token if we wanted to hit balls). Course was in great shape as always, grabbed lunch at the turn had a tuna fish sandwich and a bag of chips and paid $10 (ouch). What helped was the female who made the sandwich was extremely friendly. All in all a good round of golf, will be back.
Fair and challenging
Great course for all skill levels. This course is in great shape. Fairways well maintained and the rough was exactly what it should be, long enough to be rough but not so long it would penalize the average player.
Staff and facility were very welcoming. I will certainly return.
Great course
Pace of play was very good. Course was in very good condition but 2 or 3 greens had small bare spots where grass was dying. Fairways are perfect, sand traps perfect, rough is challenging.
Club house is very clean and food was good. Kitchen staff was great.. made us breakfast sandwiches before they were open. Great round of golf. I would definitely recommend to my friends
The Legend
Very nice facility. Staff was helpful. Had a hotdog was better than avg. now the course. Front 9 very nice back 9 first 5 holes thought I was at devou. Very hilly almost needed a 4 wheel drive cart. So overall I give it a 7 out of 10.
