Legendary Run Golf Club
About
Golf architect Arthur Hills designed the Legendary Run, an affordable facility that offers country club-caliber golf in spic-and-span surroundings and with what management calls "the friendliest service in the world." Scottish links golf courses inspired the front nine of the golf course, which sits on 200 acres of land and features six lakes, and holes are named accordingly: Troon, St. Andrews and Turnberry, for some examples. It's a different story on the back nine, which weaves through woods and was influenced by holes closer to home, such as those found at Augusta, Winged Foot and Shinnecock.
Book two weeks in advance to ensure you get on for a round on the Legendary Run golf course, and leave your metal spikes at home - there's no reason to worry, as, conditions permitting, you can take your golf cart off the path if necessary. A far cry from Cincinnati's recreational golf courses, this one requires a collared shirt (mock, if you must) and non-denim pants (shorts work, too). The pro shop will dress you if need be.
A bonus for eco-thinking golfers: The Legendary Run counts itself among the members of the Audubon Sanctuary Program and enforces respect of the natural habitat.

Nice Layout
I loved the course layout. The front side is long and open with a links styling. Back 9 is classic American course style. The views are beautiful and the course will challenge your shot making. The back 9 greens have been plugged recently so it was putting on a plinko board. Some of the fairways have large bare spots which is surprising since the summer has been pretty cool and wet. Got a great deal through GN so it was worth the price but I don't know that I would pay full price.
Pristine greens well manicured coarse
I have played this coarse before and would say it is one of the best tracks in the area.
Beautiful well manicure coarse nice sandy bunkers
Unfortunately this year the fairways are extreamally stressed brown bare and muddy spots in almost every fairway
I hope they are able to repair the fairway issues and bring the coarse back to its former glory for next season
First visit
I would definitely return with other guests to play here again. The only complaint was the cart rule....rough only was tough. Having never played there before made it difficult to figure the correct side of the fairway to choose to drive the cart. Many times it would have been advantageous to be in rough on the other side of the fairway. Minor complaint though.
Maybe next year
I've played this course before in the past and have always had a good time. Legendary is a good course and is normally a blast but today was not. They had an outing before us and the pace was so slow my group quit on no 11.
The other thing that was very dissapointing was that the course wasn't in that good of shape. The starter told me that the had part of the irrigation system break but there was a lot of dead spots in the fairways and rough. Then I'm not sure if this is relayed but the greens were super long and pretty slow. I'm okay if your trying to save the greens in the late summer by growing them out but at least. Putts looked like a motocross race out there.
I will play legendary again but probably not this year.
It frustrates me that's one of the courses around here that get consistent play either jam people in to the point you won't finish your round or charge 45 50 bucks for a beat up course.
Great Course
Love this course will play again. Some hard par 4 and easy Par 5.
The Legend
The course was excellent! Has every type of hole that you can think of. It is very challenging and we had a blast. Nicest course I've played in the area.
Really Nice course
This course is in excellent condition. It is always fun. That day it poured rain on hole 5. They have a small place with a roof to wait it out. Only played 9 that day but its the best course i have played in cincy.
This course is great
Challenging and fun. Greens are in great shape. Highly recommend.
Course is great! If you can ever finish a round!
The place is a great golf course. However you can never finish 18 holes unless you book 5-6 hours to play a round of golf. they don't know how to manage their tee times and need to speak to a golf course that knows how to keep the pace of play, the Vineyard... If you're not the first ones off in the morning, it's the longest round EVER! Front nine took 2 1/2 hrs. Back nine we were waiting 20-25 minutes a hole!!! We Left on hole 12. It's a Huge Joke! Get some balls and get some rangers/management to make people skip holes to keep pace. START SPEAKING UP! Tell the golfers this when they PAY! "Hey keep the pace or skip the hole" take a page out of your own Commercial your air on TV ,"while we're still young!" Ring a bell?
Nice greens and tee boxes
The course was in great shape starter very freindy
Great condition
Wow! Course and greens were in excellent condition! Somewhat of a greenskeeper revenge set of pins on Sunday, but still fun. Highly recommend you check this course out if you have not played it - nice job greens crew!
Great Course!
Legendary is a great course to go and play. Tips make it play very long and challenging if you hit the ball long enough. Good conditions every time I play it for a reasonable price. I would recommend this course to anyone from the beginner to the scratch golfer.
Good Course / Slow Play
Pace slow, people looking for balls. In good shape greens very nice.
Great course in perfect condition
Course has a little of everything grip it and rip it holes and holes where you must be very precise. Fairways and greens were excellent.
Great course...getting too slow
This is my favorite course in the city because of the quicker greens, course condition, and pace of play. This year the pace of play has slowed way down and marshals are nowhere to be seen. We played the front in under 2 and took over 3 hrs on the back all because of two groups that no one came out to move along. Please keep the pace of play moving!
Always a good round...
Free coffee in the clubhouse before and early AM round, my twosome was paired with another twosome. Great guys, good golf. Love the bonus "19th hole"!!!
Aerated Greens
This is by far one of my favorite courses in the area but all of us ere extremely disappointed that we weren't advised of the condition of the greens.
Golf Now or the course should post it so golfers have the option to still play or choose another course which we ended up doing the nest day.
I thought that if the greens were being aerated then it would be posted online at time of making the booking.
Very disappointed golfers at the end of the day and no price would have been worth playing in this condition.
Late Afternoon Mid Week Round
Very nice layout, front nine wide open with scattered houses, back nine entirely through woods with holes spaced apart. Excellent fairways and greens, rough fair, sand traps filled with sand, several water hazards. Course can be played from 6 separate tee locations which gives an opportunity for all skill levels. Previously a private club, now public, got a great price on golf now otherwise a little pricey. Scorecard has map layout of each hole showing water and sand with tips on playing hole which is a very helpful touch. Yardage ranges from 4,900 to 6,900 yards. We played round using 3 tee locations to get a feel for each. Course has a 19th par 3 hole over water as an extra bonus. Definately one of the nicer courses in the greater Cincinnati area. No complaints, pace of play good, staff helpful, rangers on course, beer cold, extensive bar area, didn't try food, pro shop well stocked but pricey. First time playing but will be back for more rounds.
Fun with some challenges
Overall a very fun course with some interesting & challenging holes. The PGA Tour golf course themed holes are kinda cool.
Nice course
The slower play was due to the fact that the back nine is sort of spread out. Would be impractical to walk. But all-in-all a nice course.
