Golf Club of Dublin
About
Although the climate gives away the location, the Golf Club of Dublin is a more authentic interpretation of the traditional links of its Irish namesake than most other replicas you'll find. The flat terrain, which was formerly a cornfield, was transformed into an enjoyable linksland layout covered with tall, sweeping heather and hundreds of yards of hand-stacked stone walls. The gently rolling fairways are generous and the classic, square-shaped greens are enormous and fast. In keeping with a true links golf course, there are nearly 80 steep, sod-walled bunkers waiting treacherously by the fairways and greensides to swallow up errant shots. Depending on the sun, the shadows cast over the bunkers can play tricks on your eyes, making them appear deceptively deeper or shallower. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes at the Golf Club of Dublin.

Top shelf
Best maintained course I have played even with a drought. A must play if you can afford it.
Rangers Are Worthless
I made it through 13 holes in 4:30. When I finally got tired of waiting 10 minutes for every shot I drove to the clubhouse to leave. I drove past three groups on the way in and they were all a hole behind. The Rangers drove around and did nothing. As I was leaving a ranger asked how I played to which I responded with disgust on their lack of enforcement of pace of play. I won’t be returning to this course again.
Incredible Deal
Amazing course. Perfect conditions. Finished the round in 4 hours. New electric carts with GPS. Couldn’t ask for anything better.
Immaculate Conditions - Fun Course!
Played middle of October for the first time. Course was in INCREDIBLE shape - well manicured, greens fast and true, rough was thick but fair. Riveted faced bunkers are a really cool visual - fortunately I didn’t hit in any of them, but appeared in great shape as well. Course is American links style, but the bunkers do add a little euro flavor to it.
The entire course works its way thru a housing development - which I know some people don’t like - but that being said, has a nice layout. Some of the holes at least offer some protection from the homes with trees and the tall grass, but some holes are fully exposed to the houses. That didn’t take away from the experience for me at all, but I know some don’t like courses that close to housing developments.
It’s definitely a course you can score on if you keep it in play. Fairways are pretty generous, but the trouble is usually water/trees/tall grass. Greens are big and have lots of slope, so you have to miss in the right spots. Even from the back tees, many of the par 4’s will leave short clubs in. There are a few long ones as well though. The back 9 has much more water in play than the front. 10-14 all have water come into play. Then 18 as well. 18 has a great view of the clubhouse - which is an awesome building - a great finishing hole.
Clubhouse was really nice and up to date. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, but it looked very nice, and there were people sitting outside eating because it was so nice out.
The only downside was I played as a single, and caught up to a threesome by hole 10. Even tho there was no one in front, they never let me thru, despite me repeatedly waiting for them on each tee box. Other than that, the experience was great, and worth the 90 minute drive. The twilight price was exceptional!
Worst pace of play ever
If you’re looking for a course where rangers drive around and don’t do anything this course is for you! Plan on multiple groups being a hole or more behind and nothing being done about it.
I played 13 holes in 4 hours and then left disgusted. When a ranger asked how I played and I expressed the gaps between groups he was very rude. This course is not worth even the fall money and another reason I don’t play public courses unless I have to…
Good but could be great!
Pace a little slow. 4:20. Course publicizes 4:15. Course was very wet in places even though we’ve only recd minimal rain over last two weeks. Good that course is very green but it’s saturated in some places. A little less watering and a quicker pace of play would make this course best in the area.
Nice Course - Great Golf Now Hot Deal - A Bit pushy on Pace of Play - Relax
Great course - a bit wet but I am sure they have been heavily watering then got some rain. Only issue was they sent a “pace of play” message on the 13th then had the Marshall, who we had talked to 3 times previously, come ask us to pick up the pace on the 15th. We were playing the course for the first time with 2 men & 2 ladies. We finished in 4.5 hours. The group behind us never waited to hit a shot and weren’t pressing us. Play overall was light so no reason t stress our round. Recommend they rely on situational awareness and the Marshall should assess whether play is being hampered. Did let it ruin our day but had the potential to do so.
Great Place!!
The course was in great shape! Everyone for the most part was friendly! Got paired up with three other locals since I was a single, and they were great.
Only issues were the starter and a Marshall. The starter wasn’t very friendly and I wasn’t informed I was paired up with anyone until I was about to tee off. Other issue was a Marshall giving us a slow play warning on our second shot on 14. No one was ever on a tee box behind us, and according to our cart GPS we were only 2 minutes off pace of play. I waited on 18 and the group behind us was 11 minutes back.
Great Links course
Nice course. Due to the weather this year it was dry and the ball would roll more than typical. However, given how dry and hot this summer has been the course played reallly well. Will return.
Top notch
Always love Dublin Golf Club. Pace of play was a tad slow, but otherwise a great experience on a great course.
