Course Highlights
The Golf Club of Dublin consistently impresses with its well-maintained conditions, featuring wide fairways, penalizing rough, and true-rolling greens. Friendly staff and a thoughtfully designed layout with water hazards and varied hole lengths deliver strong value for the experience.

Although the climate gives away the location, the Golf Club of Dublin is a more authentic interpretation of the traditional links of its Irish namesake than most other replicas you'll find. The flat terrain, which was formerly a cornfield, was transformed into an enjoyable linksland layout covered with tall, sweeping heather and hundreds of yards of hand-stacked stone walls. The gently rolling fairways are generous and the classic, square-shaped greens are enormous and fast. In keeping with a true links golf course, there are nearly 80 steep, sod-walled bunkers waiting treacherously by the fairways and greensides to swallow up errant shots. Depending on the sun, the shadows cast over the bunkers can play tricks on your eyes, making them appear deceptively deeper or shallower. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes at the Golf Club of Dublin.

Great value at $45 thru Golfnow.com

Great course layout and excellent greens condition. I played there once when it was Tartan Fields, and it's just as nice now as it was back then. The only thing that needs improvement would be to fill the bunkers with more sand and maintain them better.

Tartan Fields is a different golf course. This has always been Golf Club of Dublin.

Best Public Course Around

Absolutely incredible. The fairways are very plush and well groomed. The greens are absolutely enormous, difficult and undulating.

Deep bunkers don't make a "links" course, but...

the golf course is well worth the effort to play. Thick rough, some of it thick fescue, is similar to Irish courses, but isn't on all of the holes. The sod lined bunkers do add a sense authenticity.

We did get behind a group that took the opportunity to fish for golf balls during their round, and they got over a hole behind, forcing FOUR groups to wait to tee off of the ninth hole. Since I had an engagement to get to, we asked the marshals if we could jump ahead of the slow group. They allowed us to go backwards from 18 until we found the hole that they were on and played 13-18. I appreciate them for allowing us to do this. The rest of the foursome played 10-12 with no problem.

Since relatives live in the area, I will be back.
