Bridges - The Masters at Firewheel Golf of Garland
About
Firewheel Golf Park boasts a total of 63 championship holes. There are three regulation courses: the Bridges, the Lakes, and the Old Course, which boast enough variety to appeal to a wide range of skill levels from novices to pros. The 27-hole Bridges Course even offers three more 18-hole combinations. The layout is comprised of three different nines: the Masters, the Champions, and the Traditions that can be mixed and matched for a different round every time you play at Firewheel. Throughout the course, golfers will face strategically placed bunkers and there are tall oak and pecan trees all along the sculpted fairways. Spring Creek and Rowlett Creek also weave across the landscape, coming into play on several holes. The Masters is the longest of the three nines at 3,553 yards from the back tees.

Conditions
Fairways are in good shape. Greens are very soft and pitted from divot marks. People not fixing divots is part of the problems but overwatering may be part of it as well. Some bunkers filled with weeds and not maintained . Champions course in much better shape than Traditions .
Still worth the money
The course is just fine
Golfnow was my only problem - it was raining all over the area - at 73 years old I decided not to play because rain predictions were 65% and the temperature was in the 60s - not ideal or even good conditions - because the course did not close Golfnow decided to keep my money. Better be 100% sure you are going to play no matter what are these guys are going to rob you.
Worst Greens I've ever played on
These greens were atrocious. The course was in bad shape all together but these greens looked like tiny land mines had gone off on them.
Best value in DFW
Great track.....only public course I know of with bent grass greens in DFW. 3 different 9’s. Great range and practice facility too.
Temporary Greens
One of my favorite courses, but temp on #6 of champions and Masters is shut down with several bad greens Have to play the Traditions
Don't bring a putter - can't even play the greens
The fairways are hard, the bunkers are hard and the greens are truly some of the worst I've seen. They look nice but the ball leaves a massive divot, the people that play here don't fix their divots and you don't even want to putt here. Extremely inconsistent, bumpy, slow, etc.
Also...1/5 holes you're NOT ALLOWED to even hit at the green!! They put a flag in the fairway and call it a hole. RIDICULOUS. There should really be a warning for this. Save your money and either go elsewhere or go to the range. Really displeased.
Fun round in August - who knew?
PLayed on a near perfect 72 degree morning. Bengrass greens were a little fuzzy, which they kind of have to be in the heat of summer. Bermudagrass in good shape, bunkers were playable, and rest of the course in fair condition. We did play at 7am, which meant we had dew, recently mowed fairways, and chased the grounds crew all morning. 3 hour round is awesome. I still wish courses could find some way to offer water.... it's why I can't play much right now. Covid rules suck.
Great Course
This course was in excellent shape. It hasn't rained hard in a couple weeks and the greens on this course are in phenomenal shape.
Awesome Course
Course was in really good shape Champions/Tradition 9s we’re both very nice and greens were very soft and receptive. Played in 3 and a half hours which was great, nice outing will be back.
Good track
Great layout. Back nine greens are poorly maintained bent grass suffering Summers Heat.
Poor
Do not let them put you on the masters course. It is in terrible condition. Greens were in terrible shape. This management should be fired. A beautiful course has been destroyed.
Better than expected
My son and I played on a Sunday and really didn't expect much other than a full parking lot, rushed staff and slow play. I could have been more wrong!! Though the parking lot was full the staff were very friendly and welcoming, eager to help the two of us on our first visit to the Bridges course. The routing was amazing, far better than other courses we've played in Garland and we're eager to return and play the full 27, hopefully when it's a bit cooler. Pace of play was perfect, we never had to wait on a tee or feel rushed by the group behind us. Firewheel Golf Park has the best value for your money
