Bridges - The Masters at Firewheel Golf of Garland
About
Firewheel Golf Park boasts a total of 63 championship holes. There are three regulation courses: the Bridges, the Lakes, and the Old Course, which boast enough variety to appeal to a wide range of skill levels from novices to pros. The 27-hole Bridges Course even offers three more 18-hole combinations. The layout is comprised of three different nines: the Masters, the Champions, and the Traditions that can be mixed and matched for a different round every time you play at Firewheel. Throughout the course, golfers will face strategically placed bunkers and there are tall oak and pecan trees all along the sculpted fairways. Spring Creek and Rowlett Creek also weave across the landscape, coming into play on several holes. The Masters is the longest of the three nines at 3,553 yards from the back tees.

Good for the value
I have played their before and have always had fun. The track is fun and not to challenging on a Sunday in June northward of 90 degrees in weather the pace of play was good. Until the 15th hole, now granted if you have never played firewheel it can be confusing. Because its 3 different courses put together to make 18. Cleaner direction on the course would definitely help the pace of play.
The greens had just been aerated so it was like putting on a beach
Mostly a good report
everything was pretty good today at Bridges. Tees, fairways and greens were in good shape, greens we a little slow but rolled well. A lot of low lying areas were very muddy, from last week's storms I guess. Fairways did have some muddy areas too. Practice area was good, but putting green was closed. a 77 degree morning in June and 4 hours for 18 holes is very much worth the price.
Golf cart died
Course was good. Then at hole 14 cart died. Has to be pushed from other golfers to finish. No one at club house seemed to have cared. To me to get my stuff out and walk to truck
Course was rough
The course was not in good shape. The fairways had spots of just dried up dirt.
Very meh
So, I’m a bit disappointed in this experience but also kind of met my expectation on experience. Cost was $60 for a weekend early start, not terrible. Clubhouse employee was a bit rude when I communicated I had my push cart and he said we do g allow walkers. I said is that a new policy because I brought my push cart my last round here and several times before. Response, “No, and I’m not going to get into an argument with you about it…” Ok fella, it’s not that serious. Course itself is just very average. Greens not great, exceptionally slow. But we’re talking about a Muni course in Garland so again, my expectations are not Augusta. I do think it would really help if players were reminded when checking in to fill their divots and fix their ball marks as well as maybe having the starter reinforce this activity and maybe even a sign or two around the course. What makes some of these municipal courses so an enjoyable to play is terrible greens because nobody ever fixes a ball mark. Anyway, your mileage may vary a bit, but I feel like this used to have a bit of a premium course feel for municipal and I would certainly never say that now. Coming from a nine handicap, 46-year-old male for context.
