Bridges - The Masters at Firewheel Golf of Garland
About
Firewheel Golf Park boasts a total of 63 championship holes. There are three regulation courses: the Bridges, the Lakes, and the Old Course, which boast enough variety to appeal to a wide range of skill levels from novices to pros. The 27-hole Bridges Course even offers three more 18-hole combinations. The layout is comprised of three different nines: the Masters, the Champions, and the Traditions that can be mixed and matched for a different round every time you play at Firewheel. Throughout the course, golfers will face strategically placed bunkers and there are tall oak and pecan trees all along the sculpted fairways. Spring Creek and Rowlett Creek also weave across the landscape, coming into play on several holes. The Masters is the longest of the three nines at 3,553 yards from the back tees.

Great course
I booked on golfnow so my price was considerably less than typical, that made it seem much more enjoyable I'm sure. Nothing bad to say about my experience, I'd certainly recommend this course.
Good course for the money
Great course. Played traditions and masters 9. The masters 9 is much more challenging and requires ball placement and good hole management.
Greens are soft and rolled true.
Fairways and greens were in really good shape. Greens held all shots and left ball marks. Bunker sand was nice. Pace of play was above average - 4:20 to finish 18.
This course has developed nicely.
It had been a few years since playing this course and it has matured very well!
Excellent course layout and condition
The fairways and greens are in top condition and you will not regret the challenging layout. Played Champions 9 and Masters 9 (highly recommend).
Great but tight course!
Well laid out but a few holes that are very narrow. Well worth the money, overall great value and fun to play!
Bridges course
Always one of my favorite courses. Hadn't played it for years and was happy to see it is still a great value. Greens were in awesome condition. Tee boxes and overall conditions not up to the standard I would like but still a fun course.
A lot of sand and very hard fairways
There are blind shots that feed the ball to the water. With the fairways so hard, very little grass, you are hitting off of hard pan lies all day. The weather was perfect. The greens had just been reworked so they did not roll true and did not hold.
A Gem!
Previously unknown, but now discovered. While an extremely busy Saturday and a 1:30 tee time, once on the course, the pace was quite good. Beautiful tracks, lots of water, greens near perfect with both interesting and challenging holes. Will return and bring friends.
Duffer's Delight
Have always enjoyed playing The Bridges at Firewheel. My favorite is the Champions and the Masters. My opinon is that the Par 3, second hole on the Masters course is the most dangerous for the duffer. Long is really bad. Short right is impossible.
So, the miss is short left. The courses are always in good condition from tee box to green. In the summer months, beware of the rough, even just off the fairway.....brutal.
Very Professional
Wonderful course elegant and the staff was great including the cart girl with beverages. I would rather not be paired up though as I had my son with me and we like to play on our own , be aware you may have to do a foursome. I'd rather have a choice.
Good times
So 5 stars across the board is pretty generic I know, But the weather was nice and the coarse was playing pretty good. Customer service was exelent it's not to often you have someone bring you a cart as soon as you pull up in the back of the lot he was the oldest Ninja I have ever met.
Firewheel Bridges
Considering winter just ended the course was in good shape. The greens were really good and rolled true. I will definitely be coming back to play.
Firewheel Bridges Greens in Good Shape
Played Champion and Masters nines at Firewheel Bridges on Valentine's Day. Aside from one green that is in process of growing in after being rebuilt, the greens were in excellent shape, perhaps the best I have ever seen them. It was a windy day, and the greens were very quick, but true. Most grass on the course is dormant, but we still had good lies in the fairway. and challenging lies (fluffy, not bare) in the rough.
Nice course
Played on a Saturday it was pretty cold that could of affected the pace of play. I play here once a month.
I liked the course but HATED the the carts!!
We played the "Bridges" course (which, IMHO, is the only worthwhile choice at Firewheel). The course was nice, but I thought it was odd that it is actually a 27-hole course comprised of three separate 9-hole courses ( named "Masters", "Champions", and "Traditions") that are configured (depending on which day you go) into an 18-hole round. The Champion - Masters' par is 72, The Masters - Tradition is 71, and par for the Tradition - Champion is 71. I honestly cant remember which configuration we played, I just found it odd that hole #10 starts over as hole #1 (no matter which one you play). My only real complaint was the "smart carts" they use. They have GPS units that control where the carts can drive...get too close to the green and the GPS unit kills the power to the cart to like a 10% crawl...SO aggravating!! If I want to jump the cart off the tee box, I should have the freedom to do so (kidding, of course). Seriously, though....it was a bit ridiculous to have your cart DIE because you deviated from the cart path to retrieve your slice.
Overall I feel I got my money's worth, and if you live close to Garland I would definitely give it a try...but I wouldn't drive too far out of my way to play there again. I personally think there are better choices in DFW.
Firewheel Bridges, greens in great shape for winter
A very nice course, with great greens considering the cold weather. Pace of play is good, mostly play during the week. A good mix of holes requiring good shot placement and club selection.
Of the three courses at the Garland Firewheel complex, the Bridges is my favorite.
