Bridges - The Tradition at Firewheel Golf of Garland
About
The Bridges at Firewheel Golf Park is a 27-hole layout that has been a regular host of U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur qualifying tournaments. The course is comprised of three nines that can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The Tradition nine is the shortest of the three at just over 3,200 yards from the back tees. What it lacks in length, it makes up for with the rolling terrain. Golfers will face tricky uneven lies in addition to strategically placed bunkers and towering oak and pecan trees. There are also two creeks that crisscross through the entire golf course. They come into play on several holes. Not only does the Bridges provide three 18-hole courses, there is also Firewheel's original 18-hole Old Course, which was followed soon after by the 18-hole Lakes Course.

Golf cart died
Course was good. Then at hole 14 cart died. Has to be pushed from other golfers to finish. No one at club house seemed to have cared. To me to get my stuff out and walk to truck
Course was rough
The course was not in good shape. The fairways had spots of just dried up dirt.
Very meh
So, I’m a bit disappointed in this experience but also kind of met my expectation on experience. Cost was $60 for a weekend early start, not terrible. Clubhouse employee was a bit rude when I communicated I had my push cart and he said we do g allow walkers. I said is that a new policy because I brought my push cart my last round here and several times before. Response, “No, and I’m not going to get into an argument with you about it…” Ok fella, it’s not that serious. Course itself is just very average. Greens not great, exceptionally slow. But we’re talking about a Muni course in Garland so again, my expectations are not Augusta. I do think it would really help if players were reminded when checking in to fill their divots and fix their ball marks as well as maybe having the starter reinforce this activity and maybe even a sign or two around the course. What makes some of these municipal courses so an enjoyable to play is terrible greens because nobody ever fixes a ball mark. Anyway, your mileage may vary a bit, but I feel like this used to have a bit of a premium course feel for municipal and I would certainly never say that now. Coming from a nine handicap, 46-year-old male for context.
Challenging but Fun
What is nice about this course is most of the fairways are are wide so I did not lose a single drive and on all but one hole I was in the fairway.
Plus I had a Birdie and an Eagle.
Fairways were not good, no on course drinks or food
Great challenge
Course was in good shape Greens quick and challenging. I really enjoyed the round.
Great experience and good times!
Good times! The greens were challenging, but fair. Our twosome lost several golf balls in the middle of the fairway because of tree leaves, urgh! Good times anyway!
Good condition but need some water control management
Course was in good condition but something needed to be done with the excess water and mud...some sand or some flooding landscaping desperately needs to be done
Nice course, lots of ridiculous rules
You aren’t allowed to walk this course. Don’t go on cart path only days so give them 3-4 days after each rain before going.
There are three 9 hole courses they rotate two at a time for 18 holes.
Since you have to ride cart path only days are a chore and the wide fairways, while nice when you can drive to your ball are a pain when the ball is on the wrong side. The Champions course is nice with wide fairways, challenging pin positions, and hard greens. Masters has very narrow fairways and is a much harder challenge.
