Bridges - The Tradition at Firewheel Golf of Garland
About
The Bridges at Firewheel Golf Park is a 27-hole layout that has been a regular host of U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur qualifying tournaments. The course is comprised of three nines that can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The Tradition nine is the shortest of the three at just over 3,200 yards from the back tees. What it lacks in length, it makes up for with the rolling terrain. Golfers will face tricky uneven lies in addition to strategically placed bunkers and towering oak and pecan trees. There are also two creeks that crisscross through the entire golf course. They come into play on several holes. Not only does the Bridges provide three 18-hole courses, there is also Firewheel's original 18-hole Old Course, which was followed soon after by the 18-hole Lakes Course.

Champions/Masters
Champions/Masters are both in great shape for July.
Tee boxes have ample grass but are rock hard. Fairways are good, not a lot of ground under repair areas. Greens are smooth and relatively fast.
Of note, the greens are really hard, not a pitch mark to be found, so you have to shoot for the front edge distance for your ball to hold!
Fireweheel Bridges
I have played this course where it has 3 nines. The 2 nines we played usually was BentGrass greens and was in bad shape. Looks like they changed to Bermuda greens and were in really good shape and we liked putting on the greens.
Bridges at firewheel
Always a good track at firewheel!
Good job on keeping pace of play at a good rate
Good but challenging course
This course test you out with narrow fairways but It is kept up well. Very fun definitely recommend it.
Bridges
Friendly staff and a nice round of golf. Course is in especially good shape considering all the rain we’ve had in Texas. Greens were in really good shape.
Fantastic
Great course conditions. I know it sounds crazy but I showed up at the course without my golf clubs. Pro Shop staff was amazing and took care or me. Made my day and my visiting sisters round memorable. Thanks guys.
Great Course for the Money
Went and played for my son’s birthday, was very pleased with course conditions. Read some reviews that said course wasn’t up to par and I would disagree as course was in good shape for this time of year. Will be playing again!
One of the most outstanding courses I've played.
Unbelievable. Best bang for your buck in DFW area. Spectacular. Beautiful. Well kept. Outstanding layout with a good mixture of challenges and imagination. I'm from Jersey and would play here as a member everyday if I lived in the area. Be back in July!!!
Spring conditions
My son and I played 4/7 later in the day. The course layout is fair yet fun. The biggest challenge is I don’t believe they water the course at all. The tee boxes were so hard I broke two plastic tees attempting to put into the ground. The rest of the course was extremely hard….almost impossible to take a divot. The greens rolled pretty good however were not receptive to anything. All in all the course was fun and would expect it would soften up in the next month.
The bridges
Great layout and in fantastic condition! The staff was very accommodating and friendly. I definitely recommend playing this course!
Love this course, all 3 9's are awesome
would highly recommend this to anyone. best bang for the buck in DFW. the greens on the traditions course could use some work, and some fairways could use some more grass but this place rocks! the champions 9 and masters 9 are my two favorites
