Windy Knoll Golf Club
About
Windy Knoll Golf Club is known among locals as being one of Springfield's best public golf courses. The course was built in 2001, though you would not be able to tell from its traditional links design. It manages to be a classic links golf course while still being a challenge. The site was originally a horse farm and the design incorporates some of the features from the terrain's former use. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are trees and rough lining the fairways. Golfers will find many risk-reward opportunities on the course, one good example being the par-4 eighth. This hole plays into the prevailing wind and if you miss your drive, you may find yourself in one of the eight bunkers surrounding the undulating green.

Some of the best greens in Dayton
The course has a great layout with a lot of variety on its par 3’s, 4’s, & 5’s. The greens are always very well manicured and run in 9-10ft+ stimp speed. The facilities are well managed and the staff is very attentive to running quality operations. The only critique I can provide is that the driving range has no targets.
Definitely one of my favorite tracks in the area!
Great course, great carts, terrible hot dog.
Course is great, well taken care of. Would definitely play this one again. Staff really friendly and inviting. However, the hot dog was terrible and wouldn’t recommend. Bar/food is expensive and not good tasting.
Great golf though.
Great April morning at windy knoll
Played as a single and moved right along behind a twosome on a cool sunny non-windy April week day morning. The tees were the n good shape, fairways fine, rough as it should be. The traps have had little attention but were playable. The greens were fast, to my liking. I was surprised there was no Spongies in the cups. I felt the course was in great shape. The back nine had a foursome and a twosome that were gracious in separately allowing me to play through. It was a 2 and 3/4 hour round. With a Golfnow reward and exallent hot deal made the opportunity to play so very inticing. I thoroughly enjoyed myself not having to look after others balls or wait on anyone hunting golf balls. This is always a treat to play here.
Great condition great course
First time playing here drove an hour from Columbus to play and well worth the money. Staff is friendly and more than accomadtating when my card got locked up by my bank and didnt let me ring out for drinks. I WILL be back!
Consistently fun course from 1 to 18
Windy Knoll is a pretty nice course just an easy one hour drive from Columbus and one I’d definitely recommend for anyone in the area, especially if you get a nice hot rate on GolfNow! Bonus points for the par 3 third hole where I scored my first Ace.
Worth the drive!
We drove up from Cincinnati to play this course and would do it again. Interesting layout, challenging holes, and the course was in nice shape. Definitely recommend!
S L O O O O W play !! need a RANGER please
We play this course at least twice a year because it is conveniently located & is a decent distance for us shorter hitting seniors. Would play more often if the pace of play wasn’t soooo slow. We keep coming back hoping not to have the same frustrating experience as last time but haven’t lucked out yet.
Two suggested solutions to slow pace are:
1) Space tee times at least 10 minutes apart so fairways are not
3 groups deep per hole.
2) A RANGER !!!
great time
The course was in excellent shape. the pace of play was very good.
