About
Windy Knoll Golf Club is known among locals as being one of Springfield's best public golf courses. The course was built in 2001, though you would not be able to tell from its traditional links design. It manages to be a classic links golf course while still being a challenge. The site was originally a horse farm and the design incorporates some of the features from the terrain's former use. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are trees and rough lining the fairways. Golfers will find many risk-reward opportunities on the course, one good example being the par-4 eighth. This hole plays into the prevailing wind and if you miss your drive, you may find yourself in one of the eight bunkers surrounding the undulating green.

Restrooms on the course were locked. Drinking fountain did not work as well
Nice place not to long but….
Great track for sure, lots of risk reward play … the day we played the name was doing it justice 20 miles plus gust of wind and a good amount of water around, but if you play smart they all can be avoided. Some tight fairways and some you can let it rip …. Back nine have some beautiful houses around but none of them are close to impeded your game. It’s was early in the season this year for April so grass is still behind in growth when we played…
When playing look what to miss before hitting the ball!!!

Nice fairways and greens
Greens were good fairways were good the bunkers were full of water and could need some attention but it's early in the year great staff fun to play for the money
They did not open
The course did not open on the day of my prepaid tee time, no sign was posted as to why they did not open, no one was answering phones. Had to call golf now the following monday to get a refund, which was a 3 day wait. Luckly another course nearby let me walk on that day.
Greens inconsistent
Some of the greens were still healing up after the aeration.

Course and greens were in great condition for being this early! Great time! Great course!
Great Course!
From check-in to our meal at the grill afterwards, everything was enjoyable. Great place to play, even with aerated greens.
Windy was windy knoll
Had a foursome of friends playing behind a twosome that apparently were playing for body parts. I know they were behind a foursome but very very slow. The back nine had been airated and sanded within the last couple of weeks and still showed some signs of the process. But, this needs to be done. I have never played in wind like this here. It definitely added to the challenge of the course, which is already challenging enough. Good time had by all..
Love the course!
Always try to travel out to Windy Knoll at least once a year. Worth the drive from Cbus!! Course in good condition... looks like it's recovering still from hot summer conditions. Greens recently aerified and sooooo bumpy.
Aeration time
Arrived at course only to find upon checking in that the greens had recently been aerated. No aeration alert on Golf Now. Why not? Rest of course was tolerable but not near the conditions of a month ago. Not sure what is going on with maintenance. Hoping for the best because it is a good course.
Great course!
This was my first time playing Windy Knoll, and it did not disappoint. Great course, excellent condition, and incredible value for the money. Will definitely be back!
Good Course… Could be Great
First time playing course. Starter paired 2 of us with another guy. No big deal; however, there were multiple doubles and singles behind us that we had to let play through. Have no idea why we were paired. Please, please, please make tee markers taller and more clear if you are going to keep them in tall grass around the tee box. Should not be difficult to do. Painful looking for tee markers. Course in good shape but greens very firm. Definitely, will play better 2nd time. Back 9 layout was more straight forward. If you are a long hitter, you will lose some balls. Great value. Small tweaks would make it great. Fun day!
Tough course
First time playing here. It’s a challenging course and finding the tee markers was tough on some holes. Finding hole 17 was very difficult. Signage would be helpful. There was a group of 16 in front of us so pace of play was very slow! The only fast thing about the day was the greens. It’s like putting on concrete! The staff is friendly and overall it’s a nice course. For the golf now price I would probably play here again.
Great course!
I got a deal on GolfNow to play the course for under $25 for 18 with cart. What a deal! Loved the course and got paired up with a couple of locals who were great guys. Will definitely be going back.
