About
Windy Knoll Golf Club is known among locals as being one of Springfield's best public golf courses. The course was built in 2001, though you would not be able to tell from its traditional links design. It manages to be a classic links golf course while still being a challenge. The site was originally a horse farm and the design incorporates some of the features from the terrain's former use. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are trees and rough lining the fairways. Golfers will find many risk-reward opportunities on the course, one good example being the par-4 eighth. This hole plays into the prevailing wind and if you miss your drive, you may find yourself in one of the eight bunkers surrounding the undulating green.

Aeration time
Arrived at course only to find upon checking in that the greens had recently been aerated. No aeration alert on Golf Now. Why not? Rest of course was tolerable but not near the conditions of a month ago. Not sure what is going on with maintenance. Hoping for the best because it is a good course.
Great course!
This was my first time playing Windy Knoll, and it did not disappoint. Great course, excellent condition, and incredible value for the money. Will definitely be back!
Good Course… Could be Great
First time playing course. Starter paired 2 of us with another guy. No big deal; however, there were multiple doubles and singles behind us that we had to let play through. Have no idea why we were paired. Please, please, please make tee markers taller and more clear if you are going to keep them in tall grass around the tee box. Should not be difficult to do. Painful looking for tee markers. Course in good shape but greens very firm. Definitely, will play better 2nd time. Back 9 layout was more straight forward. If you are a long hitter, you will lose some balls. Great value. Small tweaks would make it great. Fun day!
Tough course
First time playing here. It’s a challenging course and finding the tee markers was tough on some holes. Finding hole 17 was very difficult. Signage would be helpful. There was a group of 16 in front of us so pace of play was very slow! The only fast thing about the day was the greens. It’s like putting on concrete! The staff is friendly and overall it’s a nice course. For the golf now price I would probably play here again.
Great course!
I got a deal on GolfNow to play the course for under $25 for 18 with cart. What a deal! Loved the course and got paired up with a couple of locals who were great guys. Will definitely be going back.

Windy Knoll Golf Course
One of the best conditioned courses that I have played this year. Green fairways and smooth fast greens. Only fault is there are no yardage markers in the fairways or on the cart paths. Overall I would rate it a 4.9 out of 5.
No geese today
Earlier this summer there were hundreds of geese and their droppings. We only saw a few geese this outing. They seemed to have moved on. Enjoyed the round.
Windy Knoll Golf Course
Excellent course that was in my opinion the best condioned I have played this year. Only complaint is there’s no yardage markers on the course. Besides that you won’t find a better conditioned course around this area considering the lack of rain we’ve experienced. I would play this course more often if I lived closer.
Great course
This is my favorite course in the area! I play it every time I go home. Layout is challenging and fun. Course conditions are outstanding. It's really beautiful in the fall when the leaves are changing.
