About
Windy Knoll Golf Club is known among locals as being one of Springfield's best public golf courses. The course was built in 2001, though you would not be able to tell from its traditional links design. It manages to be a classic links golf course while still being a challenge. The site was originally a horse farm and the design incorporates some of the features from the terrain's former use. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are trees and rough lining the fairways. Golfers will find many risk-reward opportunities on the course, one good example being the par-4 eighth. This hole plays into the prevailing wind and if you miss your drive, you may find yourself in one of the eight bunkers surrounding the undulating green.

Blazing hot
The course was in great condition. Love playing it! Pace of play was perfect. Finished in 3.5 hrs…and thankfully because it was hot!
Better maintenance in 2025
Tee boxes fairways and greens are in better shape than last year and being well maintained throughout the summer heat.
Perfect day
Very good condition. Greens running smooth and for a Friday the pace of play was excellent! Beer was pricey compared to other courses. Overall excellent!
Excellent condition
Was surprised with the excellent course conditions as this area has been very hot and humid at the time of play. Nice layout, no parallel fairways,etc. very enjoyable course to play
Fun course
Not a bad course but fairways could use some work . Please invest in a credit card reader for the cart person , to only accept cash is ridiculous!

Good layout and some challenging holes. Traps need help and greens were pretty good
Windy Knoll
Love Windy Knoll. Every course should teach people golf etiquette before they are allowed to play. The 3-some in front of us were awful. Held everyone up. Took us over 4-1/2 hours to play.
Summer is upon us finally
Had a great day with a friend at windy knoll. The course is in great shape and greens are rolling true. This is my go to.course because I know what ti expect when I get her. A true test of golf in great shape. Golfnow typically provides a tee time meeting my anticipation and price within my wallet limit…
Enjoyable experience
Lots of heather with some trees. Some holes challenging others straight forward. Greens were good. Lots of geese and their waste. Would play again
