About
Windy Knoll Golf Club is known among locals as being one of Springfield's best public golf courses. The course was built in 2001, though you would not be able to tell from its traditional links design. It manages to be a classic links golf course while still being a challenge. The site was originally a horse farm and the design incorporates some of the features from the terrain's former use. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are trees and rough lining the fairways. Golfers will find many risk-reward opportunities on the course, one good example being the par-4 eighth. This hole plays into the prevailing wind and if you miss your drive, you may find yourself in one of the eight bunkers surrounding the undulating green.

Love this course
Play this course as often as I can. Greens were excellent, some of the fairways were rough, but they were working on them.
Hot one
The course was in excellent condition. Greens running around 7 to 8 on the stimp from best guess. 5 hours on the weekend was about average for play in the area.
The cart person quit around 2 at one of hottest times of the day because she had to go tend bar?
So with the pace being slow and the cart person quitting in the heat of the day is the reasons I couldn’t give an excellent rating.
Outstanding
I've been wanting to play this course for a while. I traveled from Columbus to play here and it was so worth it! The course is fantastic and it great shape! Highly recommend!
Great Course
First time playing this course. We will be back again. Staff was outstanding! Only complaints were… the sand traps were packed down and not raked, but that may have been from the heavy rains a few days before. They have an out of control geese population that have taken residence on several holes. Number 9 was completely covered in goose droppings. You could not take one step anywhere on that hole without walking on goose droppings!
Other than those two issues we enjoyed our round.
Great design.
1st time playing. Would love to go back but heard they’re closing/selling the front 9.

Links style course that plays as easy or tough as you want to make it depending on tee box selected. Would play again
