About
Windy Knoll Golf Club is known among locals as being one of Springfield's best public golf courses. The course was built in 2001, though you would not be able to tell from its traditional links design. It manages to be a classic links golf course while still being a challenge. The site was originally a horse farm and the design incorporates some of the features from the terrain's former use. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are trees and rough lining the fairways. Golfers will find many risk-reward opportunities on the course, one good example being the par-4 eighth. This hole plays into the prevailing wind and if you miss your drive, you may find yourself in one of the eight bunkers surrounding the undulating green.

A lot of geese
Course was great other than an influx of geese. I was afraid I was going to hit one as there were many more geese than usual at this course. I saw a couple of them limping so I assumed they got hit. We stopped counting at 65 of them on one hole. That many geese also leave a lot of poop behind.

Not bad
The geese have torn up the fairways and some parts of certain greens, but other then that not bad.

Great Course
Played this course on a Friday at 3pm, teed off solo and didn’t catch up to anyone until the 8th hole, played entire back 9 with nobody in front or behind. Greens rolled true and the rough was thick, must keep the ball in the fairway. 15 mph headwind at times so the course name is fitting. Love playing this course and will play again.

Love this course
Play here about 4-6 times a year. yesterday the course was perfect. Rought was a little long, but it is what it is. Fairways, fringe, and greens were immaculate.

Excellent As Always!
This has to be a Top 5 Course in the Dayton area- probably even Top 3. Always in great condition for whatever time of year. Beautiful course and layout is fair but very challenging. Greens have multiple undulations- VERY fun and make you really think. Played here multiple times a year for the last several years on weekdays and never had an issue with pace of play. An absolute must-play in west-central Ohio!

Need a Ranger
Booked as a twosome and was paired with a married couple. The first tee was stacked 4 groups deep upon arrival (mostly elderly gents) and after putting and chipping for about 20 mins we headed to the tee and only 2 of the 4 groups had teed off. Waited another 20 mins til we could finally begin and it was a snails pace from then on. Round took 5 hrs and 20 mins to complete. I'll come back because I enjoy the course, but they definitely need a starter and a couple rangers to keep the pace.

Back nine is always an issue. Foursomes taking 30 min at the turn then you have 5 groups backed up on 10. Has happened repeatedly.
Nice course just lacking some course management and amenities. The ranger is there for free golf.
