Indian Ridge Golf Club
About
Located just a few miles south of Oxford, Indian Ridge Golf Club sprawls across rolling countryside sprinkled with walnut and cedar trees. It's the only course around for miles, making it the default favorite for local golfers but it's also popular for the affordable rates. The location provides peaceful seclusion as well as idyllic scenery. The golf course has a classic design with plenty of variety, giving it appeal for players of all skill levels. Water hazards and bunkers come into play throughout the course, often making for difficult approaches. Indian Ridge Golf Club stretches to just over 7,000 yards from the back tees. There are some holes that will please long hitters and risk-reward opportunities that will test advanced players, but the design is still player friendly enough for high handicappers.

Much improved
I used to play Indian Ridge only when I could get a hot deal green fee. After 2 years of steady improvements, this is my favorite course in the Cincinnati area. This course is fairly challenging. I generally play early afternoons during the week. Pace of play is rarely an issue. 3 to 3.5 hour rounds are pretty typical.
Hard fast course in excellent condition
Found course to be in surprisingly excellent condition for this time of year. The ground was hard but the greens were receptive and fast.
Recommend
Definitely recommend Indian Ridge golf course, one of our most favorite to play.
One of the best around!!
Course is in great shape!! Fairways and greens are excellent!!!
Decent experience for the cost
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Nice clubhouse and food/bar area, super reasonable prices on food and drink. Course itself was just ok. Fairways were in good shape for as little as its been raining, bunkers were the best in the area I've seen this year. Most greens were in good shape, but tons of spike marks, ball marks everywhere. My complaint would be with the pin placements, which on some holes were just ridiculous to the point of unreasonable, and with the overall layout of the back 9 in general. Just wasn't a fan of that 9, but nothing the staff can do about that. Overall, good experience. I'd go back but not my first choice in area courses.
Great front, horrible back
Day started off great, teed off by myself at 12:30, one twosome in front of me that I hardly ever had to wait on for more than a couple minutes, and on most holes there was no waiting. Played the front nine in about 1.5 hours. Teed off on the back and had to wait on EVERY shot. There was now the two some in front of me and a 4 some that was playing very slow in front of them. I got a killer hot deal from golf now for $10, so after an hour and a 15 minutes and only playing 4 holes on the back I turned around and left.
The course itself was in pretty good shape, nothing outstanding, but decent. The fairways were in really good shape but the greens were rough, with lots of unfixed and improperly fixed ball marks. Was hard on a number of holes to get a clean roll to the hole.
I would like to play this course again as I enjoyed it until the pace of play ruined a great round of golf. The holes on the back that I could see but did not play looked like they would be enjoyable.
First Time
Played over 20+ courses around the Cincinnati area and Oxford is a little bit of a drive, but I thought it was worth it. Compared to other courses around here I would give it a good rating better than average. The fairways are nice, greens rolled true, and the course layout was nice. Every hole has a little different flavor and I enjoyed it. I would recommend if you haven't played it give it a try, but don't be expecting a PGA tour course. Overall I will say I'll be back, although the bunkers could use some work was the only negative. Fortunately I don't hit bunkers so nonetheless it doesn't matter!
Thanks so much for coming out and playing and for your review of Indian Ridge. If you are unaware we are new owners of Indian Ridge and are trying our best to provide golfers with the best experience. We just completed renovation of all 54 bunkers this spring. It was a year long process. I'm hoping you can help me with what we need to do to make them better. It would sure help us out. Thanks so much.
Better than I expected
I have read some very bad reviews about this course over the past couple of years. I played here the first year it opened and found it very nice for a new course. So I booked a hot deal round for two of us after hearing better things about it. It really was quite nice fairways rolled good, greens were fast and true, will be back.
Great Day at the course
The weather was great, the course was in great shape and the pace of play was excellent. Looking forward to going back.
Under New Management
This course is just a few miles south of Miami University in Oxford OH. New owners and managers have invested heavily and made it an extremely good place to play again. Beautiful tee boxes, fairways, and greens... Good food too!
Check it out!
New management has done a fabulous job
Great course to play at, one of my favorites. The new management here has brought the course from one of the worst, to in my opinion one of the best courses in the area. Fairways and greens in great shape. Still some areas where you can tell that the course is being renovated, but nothing that affects the way you play. I would highly recommend this course, and will continue to play this course whenever I can.
It's Back
Track hit rock bottom a few years ago, however, glad to report it's back better than ever!
Worth the drive...bunkers are filled, teebox's are well maintained, , even took the swamp out on 16....left a few birds out there...over power the front and hang on for the back to finish with nice round
Worth the drive
I've played Indian Ridge a number of times over the past several years and this year is the best that it has been. The fairways and greens are well maintained and the course is a good mix of long and short holes. They have improved the drainage issues of the past and you can't beat the price. I would recommend giving it a try, I will be back!
Course has come a long way
Getting in great shape. A little more work and it should play like it was intended.
Impeccable course, good challenge
This was my first time playing Indian Ridge, and I was impressed. Fairways are nicely cut, and rough isn't too heavy. Layout, with dog-legs, elevation changes, and just the right amount of water make it a challenge.
It was good to see a ranger on the course, something I am seeing less and less often in the area, even though there were no pace issues.
Only negative, and it was a very minor issue, was the poor condition of the cart path is some locations.
Thanks so much for the nice comments about our golf course. It has improved greatly over the last year and we will continue to make improvements. Our next big project is to paved our entrance and do cart path work on the golf course.
Much Improved
The improvements and conditions on the course and taking shape. If you have not played here in the last couple of years it is in the best form in the last 7-8 years. It is back to being a must play!!!!!
Great Experience
Played on 11/25 in the afternoon. Spectacular day for late November, windy on the elevated holes. Course was in great shape for the time of year in Ohio. Greens were sandy but rolled pretty true. Greens were receptive in spite of lack of rain recently. Some construction to the right of the fairway on 16, but really didn't affect play. Staff was very friendly, and it was a great bargain, only $15 per golfer with cart !! I have played here several times, this was the best experience yet.
Great layout!
Undulating greens, moderate elevation changes and difficult approaches make this course a welcome challenge for the avid golfer. Would recommend this course many times over.
Glad this course is back!
I have always liked the layout of this course. It has some fun looks, challenging holes, ( I would say some easy holes but there are no easy holes).
However, due to the ownership of the course, sometimes the conditions would slip.
I have played Indian Ridge 4 times this years and I'm glad to report that the course is back. If you are coming from Cincinnati, it is worth the 15 additional minutes in the car. The pace of play is almost always pretty good and therefore makes it worth the drive. There are a few other course that stack players up like cord-wood and that kills the experience. .
I have never written a review on Golf Now before, but I felt compelled to do so. I see some of the reviews from years ago and while I think those reviews were fair at the time, they no longer apply.
In all fairness, the sand-traps need lots of work, but I can see that they are under repair. So, if you love the sand, you might not like this at this time.
Everything else, I really enjoy.
Great Layout.
This is the third time I have played this course. The layout is great. Links style course with moderate elevation changes makes this course fun yet challenging. I will play this course again. The greens had recently been aerated and there was much sand on them making it difficult to putt butt other than that course was in spectacular shape.
Thanks so much for coming out and playing our golf course and giving us your thoughts. So sorry that your experience turned bad with slower play. Our daily pace of play is 2.25 per nine holes and 4.5 hours for 18. Being a single player I understand that 4.5 hours is a long time for golf, but for a foursome it is our pace of play. Please join us through the week on the hot deal and the pace should be somewhat better because of amount of foursomes. Hope to have you play soon. Thanks
