The Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club, centrally located on McMullen Booth Road a comparably short course, offering just 5,454 yards from the blue tees and a slope rating of 118. Most of the fairways are wide, making errant shots still playable. In essence, it is the ideal place to work on your golf game, to correct that nasty slice or learn to hit that oversized driver without fear of losing 100 balls. As a result, it is a favorite among novice golfers who want to be challenged but also have an enjoyable round.

Please learn to keep the game moving!
Forgot to mention nice new carts in last review. No complaints with course EXCEPT greens recently punched & sanded. Putting was pretty much a guess (more so than usual). Rake the bunkers after you're done! Foursome in front was annoying, behind by 2nd hole, stayed behind until back 9. Told us they was a 5-some ahead which was true, but I only saw them wait on 1 par 3. Parked carts in front of greens, had to wait for them to move. Legs apparently didn't work, as they rarely (NEVER) walked from the cart to their ball, had to be driven. Typical of golfers today.

Excelent gepflegter Platz, sehr abwechslungsreich, tolle Grüns.
Driving Range liegt leider auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite einer stark befahrenen Straße.
Chi Chi’s
No surprises although the lack of rain is showing up a bit on fairways. Greens were fast and hard to read…pace was ‘ok’…group in front waited until the group in front of them were on the green and then hit their drives in the woods or 150-175 yards …🙄
It was HOT…88-90 degrees and we started on time at 10am…early tee times for the remainder of the summer!!
Chi Chi - May 2024
Such nice people and a good value for the money. I really liked the Youth Foundation aspect of the course as well. This plays 5400 yards from the tips and has 6 par 3s for a Par 69 course. The driving range is across the street so there is a little practice area and you hit into a net to warm up. The greens were in good shape... but had been verticut and therefore the ball took some weird turns as tracked towards the cup. Not in my regular rotation but I was glad to go and it was a perfect day and a really fast pace of play.
Slow play
We golf only on week days to avoid the slow pace
For some reason we found ourselves waiting behind 4 twosomes 🤷♀️
We hooked up with another couple so the play would be reasonable
Why the starter let all of these twosomes by themselves ??
This made it unplaisant and long
One of the better courses in Tampa Bay Area
Chi chi’s course is challenging yet beginner friendly. A course for everyone. The fairways are okay, tee boxes are good and the greens are well kept. The value and condition of course for the price is great. Would recommend to a friend.
Monday early AM
Played course many times on weekends, pace of play is usually brutal (4 - 5hr round, which I will say seems pretty common on any course around here). Had the chance to play (2 some) on a Mon AM and finished in 2:40! Greens were good, fairways were lacking grass, lots of tight lies. Enjoyed the round, will definitely play again!
Tricky and tight
First time playing. Great price. Course is tricky and requires accuracy off the tee with proper club selection. Greens are fast and in great shape. Excellent value for the price. Good to see the support for kids.
