Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club
About
The Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club, centrally located on McMullen Booth Road a comparably short course, offering just 5,454 yards from the blue tees and a slope rating of 118. Most of the fairways are wide, making errant shots still playable. In essence, it is the ideal place to work on your golf game, to correct that nasty slice or learn to hit that oversized driver without fear of losing 100 balls. As a result, it is a favorite among novice golfers who want to be challenged but also have an enjoyable round.

Tight, compact, decent for a local course
This course was decent by most standards, but what it lacked, it lacked in abundance. The layout of the course is very tight and compact, with multiple turnaround that can cause confusion. I'll say they did as good as they could with the space available, but the course lacks an openness; leaving a player feeling crowded in by the natural flora and fauna, fairways almost feeling like they overlap at times. Course conditions were also okay,, but there were a few bald/seeded patches on greens which forced us to not play the ball as it lay. The staff was great in the Pro Shop, but the Starter allowed a 10-man group to form ahead of us, half of which had a later tee time, slowing our twosome's pace of play. I believe we caught a decent value at $40/person, but for the money, we'll play one of the many larger, more spread out, courses nearby in the future.
Fun, short course
Some rough patches of sand and weeds on greens, but overall it was in decent shape and proved to be a fun round.
Good value
Course is a bit dry we need rain.
It would. e nice if the distances were pegged onthe fairway, a well it would be helpful if the tee boxes had one distance marker so you could pace off others so you could be more sure of the distance to the centre of the green.
I put this course on my replay list
ENJOYED THE COURSE.. WEATHER WAS PERFECT. CHALLENGING.
Short
Even though the course is very short it is fairly tight so keeps it challenging courses in good shape of course amenities are non-existent very slow play
Challenging greens.
Each hole has bunkers, water or trees to make chipping onto the green a challenge. Very nice layout.
Construction challenges
Course was a bit dry and brown but fun to play. I have played it before when it was much nicer. Construction on back lake may be the cause. We were hit into twice by impatient players but we were not the hold up. Assumed they were snowbirds. Would definitely play it again.
