Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club
About
The Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club, centrally located on McMullen Booth Road a comparably short course, offering just 5,454 yards from the blue tees and a slope rating of 118. Most of the fairways are wide, making errant shots still playable. In essence, it is the ideal place to work on your golf game, to correct that nasty slice or learn to hit that oversized driver without fear of losing 100 balls. As a result, it is a favorite among novice golfers who want to be challenged but also have an enjoyable round.

Testy value
Although this is a relatively short course, you still need all the shots to score well. Occasionally the pace of play is somewhat on the slow side. Greens are in good shape fairways less so. I would have no hesitation to play this or a casual round of golf and I’ve been doing so for many years.
Great Executive Course
The layout of this course is very challenging with lots of water hazards and bunkers. Some holes are very tight. Greens were not that fast due to the wet conditions. We would definitely play this course again. I lift my hat to Chi Chi for this course.
Had to return
I played Chi-Chi's the day before this review and had to go back on this day. Of course is in excellent shape the weather was gorgeous what more could you ask for. Today the staff is friendly everything lined up perfectly enjoy the short track very fun.
Good day
The course was in pretty good condition today. The greens were fast but true Fairways were plush. The sand traps were light and feathery. Pace was good after the first nine finished in three and a half hours. It was a good day at Chi-Chi's.
Great layout
Course was in good shape, some places hed ground under repair, but otherwise was in great shape.
Vastly improved
Over the years, lots of effort and $ seem to have been put into course. Traps redone, fairways and tees are quite nice. Greens running quite fast and in good shape
Really enjoyed playing Chi Chi's!
We golfed with another couple who had not previously
played the course... and they really enjoyed it. We have golfed it many times over the years... but this is the best shape it's ever been in. Lots of improvements. A great golf value!
Weather was great and the course was in very good condition. Will play there many times this year.
Great short course
Played with an older friend who doesn't hit the ball very far, and we both enjoyed it. I hit my long irons 200+, so I left the driver in the bag. Fairways and greens were in great shape. I would have rated the layout as easy, but there are quite a few tight and heavily trapped holes. Very enjoyable!
Excellent choice
The course was in good shape. Some work being done on the new greens which was a little disappointing to see. Otherwise it was pleasant to play.
Great value good course
The course was great nicely maintained. A bit slow pace of play but nice overall. Had a great time.
Handy location in Clearwater. Course was in pretty good playing condition. Had a good experience. Would play again when back in the area.
Challenging but not frustrating.
A challenging course with some sand bunkers and water, not long like modern courses. Greens were mostly flat and not too difficult to read. I would have given the course a higher score if it were better maintained. There were some bare spots on the greens and fairways. But, I enjoyed my play. Staff was very friendly. And I will play again tomorrow as I am vacationing from Texas. I admire Chi Chi Rodriguez as a golfer and person. The course has a fantastic teaching facility and is geared towards the youth. Thank you Chi Chi. I found a terrific deal on Golf Now for $10/person for 2 or 4. Included cart. Great deal. Reg price was $20/person.
Bring your wedges
The course was wet and the greens rolled well. Some trees have been cut back to open up the fairways. Great staff!
NO RANGERS NO BEVERAGE CART
I've played here before and it is always slow. Course needs a ranger to move players along and prevent ball hawking. Weekends could sure use a beverage cart. It would seem to be a good way to raise money for Chi Chi's kids.
