Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club
About
The Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club, centrally located on McMullen Booth Road a comparably short course, offering just 5,454 yards from the blue tees and a slope rating of 118. Most of the fairways are wide, making errant shots still playable. In essence, it is the ideal place to work on your golf game, to correct that nasty slice or learn to hit that oversized driver without fear of losing 100 balls. As a result, it is a favorite among novice golfers who want to be challenged but also have an enjoyable round.

Challenging
Nice layout. Traps are just where you don't want them.
First time playing
The pro shop was very polite and helpful although it felt like the tee times had been over sold. We were 20-25 mins delayed teeing off from our scheduled tee times because of so many groups set to start on the first tee. This could be for a variety of reasons, ie. novice golfers that backed up the morning, but nonetheless, the tee times were sold in 4 min increments. The course still played at about 4 hr 15 min pace, though we are high 80s scoring golfers.
Downhill Fast
We played Chi Chi's less than 3 weeks ago and I raved to people that it was in the best shape I'd seen in years. So, I took a friend there yesterday and I cannot believe how badly it has deteriorated in such a short time. The greens were the worst I've played on in Florida and approach shots weren't holding!
Potential
Reasonable price but a few problems. Starter was great but the course needs a Marshall and maybe a drink cart. Pace of play is a problem. We waited on every shot and even had a group skip in front of us. So now we have 2 groups to wait on. They stopped after 9 for food so now they are 2 groups behind us and bothering somebody else. The course length and variety of holes was good but the greens were scruffy and rough around the greens reminded you it was early February. We wanted to play here because part of the fee goes to Kids golf. I'd rather make a donation.
Greens were disappointing last weekend (2/11 - 2/12/17)
I have played this course for quite a few years (about 10) and was disappointed at the otherwise well kept condition the greens have always been in. I almost always have to play on the weekend and last weekend the greens were shaggy and quite slow. This is the first time I have experienced this situation and hopefully it will be the last.
Having played there so many times, I would still heartily recommend them as the course is challenging and virtually always in excellent shape - even during our hot Florida summers. Chi Chi's is a top notch course for us amateurs and a bargain as well.
Over booked
Took almost 3 hours for 9 holes. They were still selling t times to walk ins despite the backup making it worse causing delay in starting.
Florida Trip
Looking for an inexpensive place to play on our Florida trip. Nice course. Par 69 so not real long. We played from the back tees at 6200 yds. It was pretty busy since it was a holiday. We started at 2:00 and just barely got done. A couple groups ahead of us were playing multiple balls and another group spent 15 minutes taking pictures of an alligator. No ranger, no beverage cart but a good experience overall.
Marking of Tee Offs and Distance Markers
My friend and I are from Ontario Canada and have played your course a few times. However, we did find that figuring out where the next hole was, was difficult in some areas. Also, it was very hard to find the distance markers. Perhaps putting up some colored markers would help.
Good bang for your buck
The course was in very good shape overall. There were a couple of patches on some fairways, but very small and spread out. The greens were very good and even though it's a short course, it's very challenging
A well maintained challenge
Course well maintained, including greens, which must be hard to do. A good challenge, with lots of sand bunkers, some water, and sloping greens. Nice "scenery" too. Well worth a second visit and more!
Just for fun.
ChiChis is a fun course, it is short, but well maintained for a smaller course. The problem with chichis is the location, quality, and price make for a very slooooow round. I literally sat for 20 minutes at the turn before the group ahead of me hit... so i sat for around 30 minutes.. on the right day at the right time it can be alot of fun. I will always end up there a few times a year at least. And of course its a childrens education center so theres a good cause behind the whole thing.
Very enjoyable round of Golf
The course was , except of a few areas, in a good shape. The landscape of a great portion of the course was beautiful. some greens a littlebit slow, but ok.
the staff was very friendly and took care, that the speed of the round was below 3 hrs 30 min. It was a very nice golfday for us.
Fun course design
Don't let hole 1 green set your impression of the course conditions. The rest of the course was in good shape. Short but fun course to play. Green speed and role was very consistent.
Labor Day weekend -After the Hurricane !!
