Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club
About
The Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club, centrally located on McMullen Booth Road a comparably short course, offering just 5,454 yards from the blue tees and a slope rating of 118. Most of the fairways are wide, making errant shots still playable. In essence, it is the ideal place to work on your golf game, to correct that nasty slice or learn to hit that oversized driver without fear of losing 100 balls. As a result, it is a favorite among novice golfers who want to be challenged but also have an enjoyable round.

the course was in great shape the greens where fast but true we are planning to return real nice course
Always a good time a Chi Chi's
Even with all the rain we have had, the course was in good shape. The were some wet areas but that is to be expected. The staff at Chi Chi's is really great. They are always cheerful and make you feel that you are a valued customer.
GREAT FAIRWAYS, AIRATED GREENS
We were very happy with our first time round here. The fairways were very well manicured and very green. Despite the airrated and rough greens, we still enjoyed the round.
Just a great day
Even with the recent lack of rain we've had, this course was in phenomenal condition. It's shorter (par 69) but very narrow which makes it tough. Good course to work on your short game. Greens were consistent. Fairways were beautiful.
Only thing that was a little annoying was on some holes the grounds crew seemed almost in the way. They were very polite about turning off their equipment while you played the hole; but still, it adds that extra disturbance. Oh, and some guy picked up my ball on one of my tee shots, (which was a great shot by the way), when he clearly knew it was mine. Other than that, it was a perfect day!
This is a great course, I would strongly recommend it for all players at any level.
greens a bit patchy . Some bare spots on some greens but mostly o.k. Enjoyed the course. Have played it several times due to good "value"
Slow Play and Pressure to Finish Quickly from Cart Barn
Slow Play, beat up greens and the Cart Staff will follow you around giving you dirty looks and try to get you to leave early so they can go home.
Great course - varying fairways
Course was in great shape for the lack of rain this year. greens very good shape. Very happy with course condition.
Chi chi
Slow play on the front nine and poor course condition fairways and greens. Back nine was an improvement.
Great day on the course
Everything could not have been better, temps in the upper 70's no rain in sight and a perfect day to get out on the course, Only drawback is watch out for the gators around the ponds.
Disappointed in Chi Chi's
We were very disappointed in the condition of the course. The greens were in particularly poor condition.
Pace of play was slow and the 3-some behind us lacked golf etiquette requesting to play through us into the 4-some we were waiting on on every shot.
Great Course for the Money
The staff here are incredibly. Extremely friendly guys in the pro shop and the starter was super nice and friendly. The course is pretty challenging for a slope rating of 118. The greens were hard and inconsistent, but the fairways were in good shape. The sand looked like it had not been raked by anyone all day, but that is not the fault of the course it is just inconsiderate players. We played 9 and met a really nice guy from Canada that we played with. The rough is really thick and not kept that well but overall we had a good time and the price was reasonable. Plus, the work the Chi Chi Academy is doing is amazing so if any part of the fees go to those kids then it is money well spent.
Bad Experience
Showed up about 20 min prior to tee time. Paid, and inquired about the large number of groups around the 1st tee. The Pro Shop aid they had a Church group go out earlier and they were backed up. We ended up teeing off 30min late because of the wait.
Each tee box after the first hole had (3) groups waiting. Waited almost 15 min on every hole for multiple groups to tee off. This was so frustrating, not to mention the course was in very poor shape. We ended up leaving after 9 holes, and that took just under 3hrs.
I realize the price was only $22, but I would not return if it were free. They really need to step it up with overbooking the course. This place left a lot to be desired, and I fell very underwhelmed with the experience. I cannot recommend this course.
Don't waste your time
The course is in terrible shape. Pace of play is extremely slow. A lot of golfers walking and no courtesy to keep the pace moving. Paid for 18 and only played 9. It took 3 hours to play nine holes. The greens, tee boxes and fairways are embarrassing. Do not golf here, waste of money even at its cheap price.
Great little course!
Alhough course is shorter than a regular course, it makes up for it in difficulty. Lots of sand and water and other surprises along the way. Well layed out and nicely maintained.
Great Course
Fairways were awesome with some tough sandtraps. Greens were a bit inconsistent with regards to speed but were in good shape.
Most of of tbe course fairways are narrow. Makes for a challenging round.
Had a great time would definately play again.
Come back in 15 mins!
Got to the course 45 mins before scheduled tee off and was told by the pro at the counter...."come back in 15 mins..." even though we had prepaid with Golf Now. 15 mins. Later, the pro shop had a line of 10 people and as I waited to sign up the beverage counter assistant signed me in and was very cordial. I later asked the 15 min pro what the course rating was (as it was not on the score card) and he told me to look it up on the internet as he sat behind his computer; again the bev assist helped me out by getting me the old score card which had it. The greens were very hard and extremely slow.
