Winter golf
Was surprised how poor the course conditions were. Range is closed due to storm damage. The Dolphin course had very little fairway grass and the greens were terrible. No rakes in the traps. The Lakes side was a bit better but the greens were what I termed Bent Clover. Always a busy place, too many leagues and I guess for a municipal course this is what you get. Weird resident policy which excludes golfers who live a few streets over in Cape Canaveral. Not impressed.
The fairway’s are in terrible condition. The greens are inconsistent on speed bare spots and different grass heights makes for an aggravating day.
Wasn’t in that good of shape
Have played there several times in past years looking like it wasn’t really cared for in awhile sad
Mass confusion
Course was overbooked and they were on our butts to hurry although we waited 20 minutes past out tee time to start. Then waited nearly every shot. Then they were confused on what 9 to send us too after our first 9. One Ranger actually told us we had to get off the course after 9 because they had another large group starting. Even though we booked and paid for 18 holes earlier in the week. Will not return
MOSQUITOS!!!!
Course is nice.. it was pretty wet considering the recent rains. So, it was cart path only. But the thing that made it miserable were all the mosquitos! I think they could spray around the course to mitigate the mosquito prob. The other option would be to play in the heat of day when there are no mosquitos out. Playing early in the morning was BRUTAL.
Maintenance left to be desired.
I’ll say the good things first.
Greens were rolling really good for being spongelike. If it was cut down more they would have been lightening quick.
Layout has a lot of water into play and layout is really nice for having 27 holes all together.
Now the issues.
They are working on the tee boxes so temp boxes were just the rough mowed down some. Keep it mind.
The fairway was not kept well. Grass was as long as the rough and a lot of weeds, crabgrass, etc.
Felt like a backyard was mowed down to make a fairway.
If they maintain it better and once the course is completed, definitely will be a nice go to course on the coast
Great layout, conditions needs work
The scenary is wonderful. Course is on a peninsula so water all around and inside the course. They are rebuilding the Teeboxes so a lot of temp ones (pretty much hitting off rough)
The fairways are not managed well. They are over grown, too much crabgrass and weeds. It looks as if someone mowed their backward for a makeshift course.
The greens were the best part of the course. They were a bit spongy but rolling really well. If cut down a little more they would have been really quick!
I’d say once all the work is complete and they maintain it a little better, the course would be a definite go to on the coast.
Great course and value
Haven’t played this course in a while and it’s great. I will definitely be going back to play some more. The greens have such a nice roll to them and made my putting so much better. The mosquitoes were absolutely insane out there so make sure you bring lots of bug spray. I played the River/Dolphin holes and I think I only dealt with about 2-4 holes that were rough but under repair. The staff was friendly, the course was fun, and bring cash for the driving range because it was only $1 per token and each token was about 15 balls. Great value!
Nice challenge
River course has a little of everything …. Shot challenges, sloping greens, great scenery and enjoyable golf ! Will play many times !! ⛳️
