About

Voted as Central Florida’s Fan Favorite Golf Course and Golf Shop by the Orlando Sentinel for the years 2025 and 2026, Providence Golf Club is renowned for its outstanding greens in the Orlando area. This semi-private golf course boasts an impressive hybrid layout, which has been significantly enhanced following a recent renovation that improved the overall playing experience. Designed by Mike Dasher, the 7,011-yard course opened its doors in 2007 and underwent extensive renovations in 2018. The course features native grasses in certain areas, providing an open, wind-swept atmosphere akin to the Big Sky, while other sections, which include waste areas and water, reflect the traditional prairie style of old Florida. The back nine is particularly distinguished by its large lakes and heavily wooded wetland vistas. Some holes, including the par-3 17th, are bordered by substantial trees. The course concludes with a demanding par-4 that stretches 441 yards from the back tees, with water running along most of the left side. Providence Golf Club offers four sets of tees, starting from 5,029 yards. The sixth hole, a 425-yard par-4, is recognized as the number one handicap hole, situated between two large lakes. The club features a spacious clubhouse that includes a well-stocked golf shop and a full-service restaurant, the Blue Heron Tavern. Travis Chivers, the General Manager, was honored as one of the Top 50 General Managers in the USA in 2025.

Recently punched

Greens were punched within the last 2 weeks but rolled pretty well and they discounted rate. I was the third group off on Sunday morning. The ranger let a 5 some off first but they split into a 2 and 3 some so no delays. Course was soggy and a few holes cart path only. I only saw 2 rakes on the entire property so sand traps were not in good shape.

Played in 3.5 hours on a Sunday so that’s always a huge plus

New Management is really making changes for the better to get this course to top notch conditions. You can see it on every hole, and soon enough this place will compete with the top courses in the area if they keep at this rate.

Golden Eagle Bill

This was our first time playing this course and we were super impressed. Greens were great, fairways were in great shape too (and nice and wide). Carts had the extra plush seats along with a GPS unit. Will definitely come back again.

The front nine is the best part of the course

I really enjoy the front nine on this course when (as it was Friday) it's reasonably dry. The course in several cases punishes a fade with a watery grave, while most draws will find sand (but most of the fairways are generous, so you have to miss your line and fade or draw to end up in trouble. The back has a couple of gimmick holes that make it difficult for a short low ball flight hitter to play effectively.

I would really like to see a composite red/white option...at 6000 yards the whites are a little long (especially with often limited roll out), and 5000 yards is a bit short for us older guys.

Where was the snack cart?

The course is in great shape. The greens were fast and true! We played on Sunday and never saw a snack cart. There was plenty of water on the course! That was a huge problem the last time we played here.
