About
Carved from pine, oak, and magnolia trees, Cypress Lakes Golf Club tumbles through gently hilly terrain, a rare landscape for a Florida course. Formerly known as the Solutia Golf Club, Cypress Lakes is also covered with hundreds of crepe myrtles and blooming azaleas and of course, cypress trees. Water comes into play on a few holes and the trees can prove to be tricky but the challenges of the golf course are balanced with the generous width of the fairways. The course's playability appeals to a variety of different skill levels, especially with four sets of tees available as well. In addition to the course, there are also extensive practice facilities available at Cypress Lakes Golf Club including an all-grass driving range, a practice putting green, and a practice bunker.

Mixed feelings
Arrived and the first tee was slammed. Got off on time, placed was packed and it was interesting. 4 some in front of us with a toddler running all over the course. Played through an 8 some, yes an 8 some. Many blue jeans and t-shirts with some interesting music blasting. I feel like the course has some ho-hum holes and some really nicely laid out holes, greens were hard but putted pretty well. Had two old geezers just walk on right in front of us turning from 15 to 16 and they were slow and inconsiderate. What I am writing is why my title is mixed feelings. I wouldn't drive 70 miles again to play it, if I lived in the neighborhood and wanted to play okay.. Ultimately you have to decide, I would rate this as a neighborhood parkland municipal golf course 90% local play. 7/10.
Good conditions
Small, elevated greens make ball striking a premium at this course. The greens were deceptively fast making for a challenging day. The course is in good condition and the rates make this a good local value.
Play away
Played a leisurely round with 2 friends
Gave us each a cart due to present world conditions
Made the round go faster I like this!
Staff very friendly and accommodating
Course in good shape overall. Tee boxes need a little work but not horrible
Course is simple yet challenging with elevation changes and some fun risk reward holes
We had a nice day !
A pleasant respite from sitting home waiting the virus out
Thanks for staying open it’s greatly appreciated
We drove an hour to play here and it was worth it
Play away
Love the course, not the walkers.
I’ve always liked this course, but I cut my round short after 9 holes because of two groups of players who were walking the course and not letting anyone play through. I think that people who want to walk should have to tee off before 10 AM so they can be out of the way in the afternoon. This is by only complaint about this course. There’s no one to force walking players to get out of the way. It’s not fun to sit at every shot for 5 minutes while walkers take 2 1/2 hours to play 9 holes. There’s no reason to allow people to walk the course during prime playing hours unless the management team is going to force them to allow faster players to play through.
Cypress Lakes surprise
I was very pleasantly surprised at the excellent condition of the course and my ability to team up with a gentleman who was not only a great golfer but had all the course knowledge. The greens are tricky as there is plenty of slope. I consider the $15 green fee with cart including convenience fees a bargain. This is a course that can challenge all players.
Cypress Lakes
Best condition I have ever seen it. Doing a great job
Hidden Gem
Course is in very good condition especially for the price, one of the best maintained courses in the Pensacola area, pace of play was pretty good, fun layout with a lot of elevation changes, greens were a little slow today, fairways were good definitely recommend playing here
Wet course
This is the second time playing this course. The first time was the day following a.huge rain and it was a lake. This time there were 2 full days in between the rain and it was still muddy in low spots. That being said it is not too bad of a course.
Mud hole
I'm played this course about 3 years ago and I was in horrible condition was convince that many improvements have been made and courses in great condition, WRONG!
It was a mud hole back then and it still is very disappointed in Pace of play conditions of the fairways were just wet everywhere had a hard time finding a place to place my ball where I wasn't standing in water horrible horrible conditions yes it was cheap but the reports were wrong totally wrong would not recommend this question my worst enemy will never play this face again should be taken off of GolfNow they need to send a representative out there to check discourse probably the worst course for draining of water I've ever seen. Thanks for wasting my time!

Great Day On The Course For The Money
Great course that is always fun to play and always a great value. You never feel rushed on the course. Great course for everyone as the difficulty is good enough to challenge a veteran player but forgiving enough for a novice.
Sunday play
The course is in pretty good shape for early January. The greens are in very good condition.
Apparently a number of novices were playing on Sunday. Thus, there were bunkers that folks had not adequately raked, leaving footprints, holes, etc.
Super Round of Golf
This is the 1st round of golf for me in nearly a year due to medical issues so I was a bit apprehensive about playing.. Upon arrival, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The course was extremely wet due to all the recent rain, but the tee boxes and greens were in great shape. Because my brother-in-law had not played for quite some time, our pace of play was not the best, but we let a couple of groups play through to prevent any back up.. Overall a super round of golf. I look forward to returning to this course in the near future.
Hills in florida?
Never played this 1 before but took a chance. Pulled up to a full house and wondered what I'd signed up for. If you need a fancy clubhouse or parking lot pass. If you want friendly people and a neat course it's for you. Front 9 is a bit more open than the back but nothing too scary. A few tricky greens but the speed is about right for the slopes. Ring the bell Marty it's a winner.
Hello, thank you for taking the time to review the course. We would like to apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. With the current uncharacteristic conditions, we work hard to accommodate everyone who comes out to visit our course and allow our guests the chance to complete their rounds. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace of play and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. As always, we will continue to look for ways to improve and use your guidance to do so. Thank you for playing Cypress Lakes Golf Club. We hope you'll come back to join us again soon.
