Cypress Lakes Golf Club
About
Carved from pine, oak, and magnolia trees, Cypress Lakes Golf Club tumbles through gently hilly terrain, a rare landscape for a Florida course. Formerly known as the Solutia Golf Club, Cypress Lakes is also covered with hundreds of crepe myrtles and blooming azaleas and of course, cypress trees. Water comes into play on a few holes and the trees can prove to be tricky but the challenges of the golf course are balanced with the generous width of the fairways. The course's playability appeals to a variety of different skill levels, especially with four sets of tees available as well. In addition to the course, there are also extensive practice facilities available at Cypress Lakes Golf Club including an all-grass driving range, a practice putting green, and a practice bunker.

Over priced
The front 9 was really bad. Chunks of wet grass throughout the fairways and the greens were a little choppy also. A fair course if the price was $20-25 w/cart for 18. Even in golf now it was $30. Definitely glad We didn't pay the full price! We drove an hour just to try a different course. In golf now you can play Eglin course $20 w/cart for 18. Eglin is an hour drive for me also. I would make the drive to Eglin 100 times befor I would go back to this course. Unless they start taking care of the course.
Golf now gps
Course is ok and good value but golf now GPS and scoring are incorrect on course layout. Little confusing and frustrating
Hello Terry, thank you for your feedback. We appreciate the review. We apologize if your expectations weren't met at the course. We hope you can try out Cypress Lakes again in the near future.
Great Deal
Great course for the price. Moderately challenging with the course lay out. Green rolled well, fairways were in good shape. No complaints.
Thank you for your four star review! We are pleased to hear you had a great time out on the course! Come and visit us again soon.
A nice course to play
Enjoyed the course , we had a rain storm move across and made it a little on the wet side but still enjoyable
Thank you for your five star review! We are pleased to hear you had a great time out on the course from your visit earlier this year. Hope you can visit us again soon!
Great challenge with changing elevations
Wonderful staff and very friendly. Especially the gentleman that was the starter. This course provides some great scenery with some challenging elevation changes. We played on a Saturday during the heat of the day @ 2 pm. The group in front of us were rather slow yet they let us play through at the turn. We will definitely be back to play this course again.
This course has great features
Well groomed very forgiving off the tees enjoyed the elevation changes
Back after long time away.
Played for the first time in about 15 years after learning to play on this track back in late 70's. Was pleased to see the condition of tees, fairways, and greens. Even w lack of overall rain, course was in great shape. While greens were a little slow, they had plenty of grass and very few thin spots. Tough track with hills and small, raised greens. Not long, but still quite a challenge.
PLEASANTLY SURPISED
I was pleasantly surprised with this course on my 1st time visiting. The course was in good shape, and appeared well maintained for the most part. Some of the sand bunkers could have used some work and some sand., and others were in good shape, The hilly layout with many elevated greens was something different for our area, but I enjoyed the challenge. I will return and make this a regular stop in my golf rotation.
one of my regular courses
Fairways were in very good shape, greens were ok. This course provides enough diversity to make it interesting - but not overly difficult
Overrated!
I'm not sure how this course got such a glowing review on 6/9/16. Maybe that was the last time they mowed the greens. I have NEVER played on such shaggy greens--there was almost no difference between the green and the fringe. Impossible to get an accurate putt from even 3 ft out. I am not really that picky, but this course was not very challenging except for the poor maintainence of the grass throughout. Paid $16 for 9 holes, and drove an extra 45 min. from Milton, FL to play this course based on the other reviews. NOT WORTH IT.
My tip: call before you drive out there and make sure the mower isn't broken. Also, the staff won't give a raincheck on the twilight rate, so be sure the weather is good too!
Great Course to Play
Visually attractive and somewhat challenging, most golfers will find Cypress Lakes to be a very pleasant experience. The staff is very friendly, and the course is in great condition. The wide variety of tees (blue, white, black, red and green) offers something for everyone regardless of age or skill level. One of my favorite courses to play in the area.
Very Good for the Money
My brother-in-law and I play this course on a fairly regular basis. The course is really quite beautiful and the layout challenging. The greens are somewhat unpredictable - some really slow and some pretty fast - so it is difficult to get a feel for the pace on a consistent basis. Some fairways are better than others, but very playable. My major hit is the tee boxes - most of the time you tee with your feet in areas with no grass, but overall, this is a tremendous deal for the money. I love the course and plan on playing it on a regular basis. I think most golfers will find this a rewarding experience.
great great
beautiful day to play golf. course was great. greens were great.
Best Green
The best green around at this point in time The fairway wasn't that great but the greens make up the the difference
TOUGH GREENS & OPEN FAIRWAYS
Booked via Golf Now and the course did not have my tee time reservation on the first hole, so we were rolled in with another twosome. Slow start, but pace of play moved along well.
Course is hilly, with open fairways and small greens. Greens are tough. Lots of slope, with false fronts and drop offs at the edge so you have to hit the center. Greens mostly rolled ok, but were bumpy in many spots. Fairways had lots of weeds and bare spots, so winter rules are a must.
Putting green is horrible. It's on a big hill and doesn't offer any logical puts that you'd see on the course. Lots of parking, but most spots are a haul from the club house.
The layout is OK, and offers some challenging drives to get in place for the second shot. A few drives are blind over hills, and several holes have water hazards. Overall, it was a course that is worth the $$, and I'd play there again.
Elevated greens
I have a low ball flight and hard for me to hit greens and stay on. Started using sand wedge after 5th hole and much better results!
Too slow
Too slow. Several groups in front and would not let play through. No marshall on course to keep pace of play.
Savage review
Good course. Recommend playing this for any type of golfer.
Cow Pasture
I have a feeling that at one time this course might have been very, very nice. The layout was outstanding, but unfortunately the course itself was in abysmal condition. Thankfully, my wife and I only paid $18.00 apiece to play this glorified cow pasture.
