Great restoration job
Played both the Oak Course and the Cypress Course and have to say they both have much improved overall conditions compared to the state they were in a few years ago. Tee to green the conditions were great and the staff couldn't be any more friendly and accommodating.
Course was great. I find the golf now booking fee expensive. I thought it was much less last year. I will look at other ways to book tee times
Nice Course
This course is a good afternoon of golf. The layout is very nice with a scenic tour nature between holes. The course is in good shape for this time of year. The greens were very good with minimal bad spots. As a matter of fact, the only defects are the sod patched areas around the bunkers, which I understand are part of a redesign. They’re almost grown in and will be fine in a few weeks. The fairways are fairly open - but well trapped. There are few forced carries, and most of the water is lateral. The bunkers are very well maintained. The staff was pleasant and eager to please. Try this course - you’ll like it
Excellent condition
This course was in excellent condition. Wide fairways and greens were in great shape and fast. Would definitely play again and recommend for a great day of golf.
Oaks are better than Cypress
We played this course for the 2nd time. On our annual trip to Orlando ( this was our sixth trip ) we played both courses at Stonegate Golf Club during our 2014 trip and found that the Oaks course is by far the better course compared to the Cypress course. What you see is what you play on the Oaks course but there are far too many doglegs on the Cypress course which means that we won't be playing it ever again because for Senior golfers it's too difficult.

Work in progress
Overall the course is in decent condition. They are working on a number of areas on the course, most notably sand traps. Sand traps without rakes are to be played as ground under repair. Sand traps that have been removed are newly sodded. Fringes around some greens are long. Greens rolled well. The pace of play was very slow for our last 7 holes as we caught up to a 4-ball tournament in progress.
Construction ongoing on course
In time when the construction is complete, I believe it will be a great course once more. The traps are all being redone and many are being eliminated. It is hard to concentrate on hitting a ball when there are bulldozers all over the course. Very disappointing round.
Stonegate review
Truly enjoyed Stonegate. Excellent condition and good challenging course. Played there several more times as found it great value for the money and easy location for me.
Oaks Course with group of 24
Our group was 24 golfers. Course was very accommodating allowing us to do a shotgun start. Staff at the course was excellent, restaurant was closed for renovations, but, we were directed a restaurant close by that we could get to with our carts. Work was being done on the course while we were there, bunkers were basically out of play for the entire round. Greens were a little slow and a little patchy. There is a new management company and they seem to be making some improvements. Great layout, great value, course needs some work. Would love to see it in premium shape.
Better than some of the reviews
Pleasantly surprised because some of the previous reviews were critical of the course conditions. Fairways were nice. Greens were nice but slow - need to be rolled. Rough was tall and you could easily loose a ball. Traps could use some sand. Very nice layout. Most holes were fairly easy but one par-3 on the back was really hard - water right and back, narrow green, trap left. Finished before 2pm but restaurant was already closed. Apparently, management was in transition so, condition should improve. We played the Oaks course.
Was a good course a long time ago
Not sure what's happening at this once great course. You can't make a putt because of the greens poor condition - they were running at a 5 on the SS scale - at best. Like putting on a shag rug. Tee boxes had tall weeds so good luck swinging that driver (the weeds will grab it sending your ball off target). Was wet because of recent rain but that the only thing they get a pass on. Regardless of price, there is no reason to play this course with all of the other options upon in the area.
You can and should do better.
Greens patchy
Greens were not very good. They were long and had bad places in them. They also had sand on in spots.
Great Value On Hot Deal
We played the Oaks course as the reviews of the Cypress were not great at the present time. The fairways are wide and are well manicured so there is plenty of room for any errant tee shots. Maybe the greens and sand traps need a little improvement but overall they were not too bad. Everybody was welcoming and staff friendliness was high from the club drop to the starter. Definitely worth a hot deal on Golf Now as we only paid $17 inc tax. If your not familiar to the area then it can be a little tricky to find as you wind yourself through the paved streets of the Solvita Resort.
Hot Deal - because greens were horrible on Cypress!
Ok....if you buy a Hot Deal, it sure would be nice to know if there's a catch.
In this case, the greens were punched and sanded. As golfers, we know that's part of the season. However, it wasn't mentioned in the Hot Deal and the course did a horrible job of punching and sanding the green. Furthermore, half the greens had a fungus on them! The layout of the course is challenging and I would recommend wants the greens come in. My advice, check with the course before purchasing a Hot Deal!
Superbly manicured set up
An excellent days golf on a moderately challenging course. Very good for the ego as I scored 44 Stableford points off a handicap of 19 ! Very impressive community lifestyle environment. We played the Oaks Course but were given the opinion from a staff member that the Cypress course is more challenging.
Would recommend a visit, and would definitely return on the 2017 tour.
Moderately challenging
Course in decent shape. Greens a little beat up.
Oaks in great shape
As always, this course in great shape. excellent greens and over all, way above average. I truely enjoy both of the solivita courses
