Tims Anniversary
Very nice golf course picturesque we all had loads of fun
Pace of play
I have played this course several times this past year and this is the first time where the pace of play was horrible. I was behind a couple and in front of them was a senior ladies 3 group and in front of them was another senior ladies 3 group. All were local players since they had their own carts. Had to wait to play on almost every hole from 5 to 10 minutes .
Not once did a Marshall come along to speed up play. The ladies groups made absolutely no effort to speed up play. As such, the round was extremely frustrating. I almost left at the start of the back nine. As a matter of fact, the couple in front of me left after the 13th hole. But the pace hardly improved. I blame the management for not providing a Marshall for the number of people who were playing the course.
I am unlikely to go back since this is the beginning of peak season.
Poor organisation
I booked a teatime with Golfnow and was listed in the pro shop. When I came to the starter 10 minutes before my teatime he had just sent my flight out as a foursome. Then he told me that I am not on the list because the list got printed the evening before.
Now he wanted to get me out as a single player behind 3 foursomes and in front of three foursomes.
I went back to the pro shop and told them about the problem and the guy there answered : As a single player and that will happen to you everywhere. Omg, what a horrible answer. No excuse, nothing. The following dialogue was on the same service-level. I never have been treated like this in a golfclub. I left without playing, got a part of the money back.
Terrible conditions!
Played Stonegate Oaks course post Irma. The course is in rough shape! Fairways were waterlogged and greens were slow and in hard shape. Many times my playing partners and I would hit decent shots to the fairway or first cut and were unable to find our ball. High probably it was plugged. Overall I found the course was boring and unchallenging. I prefer a course that makes you think when you approach the tee. If you like a bomber course then the Oaks course will make your day. I hit many a errant tee shot and found my ball without penalty to make my way toward the green. I much prefer a course to hammer you when you hit a bad shot. Not a course I would recommend for the price we paid. On the positive side, the staff were awesome and very friendly. The restaurant was quite busy, a sign of good food, but we dodged right after our round.
Fun course to play
Great course to play. Challenging but very playable for any skill level.
Best value in Florida
What a pleasure.Superb design and layout over a breathtaking vista.
Greens were under recovery but a small price to pay for the value
Wish this was my home club.
Beautiful facility, fair course
This was my first time playing at this course and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the facility is with the clubhouse and restaurant and such. The people were very friendly and offered good explanations of where everything was located. The course was playing cart path only due to the amount of rain which is no big deal. The course itself was a fair layout and had nice environment surrounding it but a lot of the greens and tee box areas were lacking. A good portion of the greens appears to have some kind of virus with a lot of bear and dead spots. The greens were rolling fairly well but conditions were not ideal by any stretch. The tee boxes had a lot of areas of weeds and very patchy grass as well. The fairways were in pretty decent condition but because of all the rain it was like hitting out of soup. You definitely needed to have great contact on the ball or you end up with a club full of mud and the ball flight was greatly affected. Hopefully it will dry out soon and make a much better play. The overall experience is something I would definitely do again once it dries out a little. It would be an A+ course if they could remedy the greens and tee boxes. Worth a try if you have never played it.
Thank you again for the feedback and we look forward to you visiting us again in the future!

Fun round!
We enjoy playing this course, but the course maintenance has slipped. The greens aren't in the best of shape and the fairways are weedy. The second cut is way too long.
Greens were not in the best condition. They did putt ok, but the grass on the greens didn't look healthy. They looked as though they might be a problem in the very near future.
After having played the Cypress course 3-4 times, we were finally able to play the Oaks. They are two COMPLETELY different tracks. This course is a lot more open and has more water. I would also venture to say this course is slightly easier. The conditions of this course were not quite the same as Cypress, but still enjoyable. The staff was able to get us out quickly after finishing up 18 holes on the cypress in the morning. Definitely worth checking out if you have never played!
Great restoration job
Played both the Oak Course and the Cypress Course and have to say they both have much improved overall conditions compared to the state they were in a few years ago. Tee to green the conditions were great and the staff couldn't be any more friendly and accommodating.
Course was great. I find the golf now booking fee expensive. I thought it was much less last year. I will look at other ways to book tee times
Nice Course
This course is a good afternoon of golf. The layout is very nice with a scenic tour nature between holes. The course is in good shape for this time of year. The greens were very good with minimal bad spots. As a matter of fact, the only defects are the sod patched areas around the bunkers, which I understand are part of a redesign. They’re almost grown in and will be fine in a few weeks. The fairways are fairly open - but well trapped. There are few forced carries, and most of the water is lateral. The bunkers are very well maintained. The staff was pleasant and eager to please. Try this course - you’ll like it
Excellent condition
This course was in excellent condition. Wide fairways and greens were in great shape and fast. Would definitely play again and recommend for a great day of golf.
Oaks are better than Cypress
We played this course for the 2nd time. On our annual trip to Orlando ( this was our sixth trip ) we played both courses at Stonegate Golf Club during our 2014 trip and found that the Oaks course is by far the better course compared to the Cypress course. What you see is what you play on the Oaks course but there are far too many doglegs on the Cypress course which means that we won't be playing it ever again because for Senior golfers it's too difficult.
