The Club at Eaglebrooke
About
Eaglebrooke, located in Lakeland -- halfway between Orlando and Tampa, is considered one of the premier golf courses in Florida. Its classic links-style design with over 100 feet of elevation change is unique in this part of the state. Natural lakes, abundant with wildlife, can come into play on eleven of the holes creating both spectacular scenery and challenging golf shots. To increase the challenge, there are six sets of tees on each hole. The "seniors" tees were customed designed for the course by architect Ron Garl. Garl requested Senior Golf Magazine to survey seniors for optimal playing preferences and then included these requests in the course design. The atmosphere is first class and the course features bag pick-up at your car. Eaglebrooke was the first course in the US to use Greg Norman's GN 1 grass, the fastest growing and greenest grass available.

Nice course
Very difficult layout. This is definitely not a beginners course as there is lots of water and lots of target golf. You need to play this course a couple of times to know where to hit your ball and read the greens. A good challenge at a reasonable price.
Always a good time
The layout is excellent . Pace was good as always . Course in good shape. Not the best I’ve seen it in but still pretty good. Rates are a little high but the course is fun.
Great course for the money
Challenging layout with quite a few forces carrys but beautiful course. Greens and taboos in great shape.
Will play again if back in the area.
Great layout and greens
For the time of year course was in good condition. Rye grass well established.
If I had to pay full price at $109 I’d have a different opinion. At $50 it’s a good deal! Enjoyed the day. Got paired up with good people and staff were what you’d expect at a private club. Friendly and attentive!!
Not as nice as expected
We drove out of our way to play this course based on GolfNow reviews. It's a very average course, but the price is also good. We are used to playing higher end courses.
Play was VERY slow and there were no rangers. We left after 9 holes.
Need More Carts
Had a great day at the course on a beautiful day. The staff was friendly and polite, the course was in great shape from tee to green, the greens were fast and rolled true, nice undulations in the greens, great layout from hole to hole, got paired with a great group, but they didn't have enough carts which was the only disappointment that caused my only negative comment's. I arrived an hour early before tee time and was told to return back in a half hour. So I hit a large bucket at the range which was quite a hike from the pro shop with no cart. After hauling myself and bag back to the pro shop to get my cart they told me that three others in my group had the carts and that I had to go find them even though I didn't know them. So I hauled myself and bag back to the starter near the first hole (20 minutes before tee time) and was told they already teed off 10 minutes prior. So I waited another 5-10 minutes since they couldn't find a cart and told me to drive down the course and find the group and join them and that I could play the holes I missed afterwards. I found the group on the 3rd hole and went on to have a great day.
I could have let this wrinkle ruin my day, but I didn't. If they had enough carts, which they should for a semi-private club, then things would have been so much better.
Don't let this prevent you from playing a wonderful course.
A Marshall would be nice. The group in front of us was painfully slow.
Great layout and fun course
Played with 2 members and a gentleman who play there often. Weather was 78 and sunny. Light breeze. Conditions were very good. Greens were very puttable. Staff wipes off clubs when done. Will be returning when back in the Tampa area. Willing to drive the 1 hour to play there.
Great fun layout
Drove from Tampa to play there for the first time with people from the membership there. Warm, sunny and 10 MPH breeze. Perfect 80 degrees. Course conditions were fantastic. Greens were not overly fast but smooth. If you are in the area, please play the Club at Eaglebrooke. Rates are very reasonable.
Fun track has the bare bones for good track. Great value
Greens were surprisingly fast. And a lot of tough little undulations.
Tee boxes and fairways were decent.
Long and challenging. I enjoyed the course layout
Starter had no idea what he was doing. We ended up pairing ourselves up with a couple. There was two singles in their own carts infront of us and we waited every single shot. It got ridiculous.
Besides the pace of play I would give this place 4.5 stars. The value is fantastic.
Would recommend this track.
Record rainfall in recent weeks
We played on Friday and it was cart path only.
Played Monday and only two holes were cart path only
This course probably played 300 yards longer than than the score card. The first hole is the only straight hole on the course.
The rest of the course demands precise shots over forced carries. The greens are full of tricky slopes.
Very satisfying if you can shoot your handicap.
Fun track
Pretty pricey in the morning but the replay rate made up for it. Lots of water and forced carries. Fairways are wide enough if you pick the correct side. Tee box’s need some work. Nice greens. Worth the trip. Great staff. Especially Eddie!
Great layout.
Great layout, great conditions. dry conditions/ Nice greens.
This golf course has no downsides for the experienced golfer.
Golfed this course for the first time and totally enjoyed it. No such thing as a boring hole on this course. The atmosphere the golf course presents is second to none. Aside from the great golf the natural atmosphere is top notch. Play this course if you get the chance.
