About
Links of Sandpiper in Lakeland offers a traditional links layout that sprawls across rolling terrain. The course is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels to enjoy but it has enough challenges for more advanced players as well. The course is anything but flat, and the ups and downs are the most challenging element you'll encounter. The small, undulating greens and narrow landing areas off of the fairways demand accuracy. Combined with elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers, proper club selection and course management also play important roles. Picking the right lines from the tees into the greens requires careful thought. You'll face a few blind shots thanks to the rolling terrain and there are also several bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. Links of Sandpiper's final four holes are the toughest stretch.

Nice course but not safe
Many tee boxes are too close to the greens so I can’t recommend this course. The course is quite nice though.

Les verts sont en bonne condition , rapide et dur …. Si votre balle tombe pas à la bonne place , bye bye et elle roule à l’extérieur du vert …premier neuf quand même ok , prendre le temps de bien vérifier les distances…. Deuxième neuf , c’est là que ça se gâte…. Si vous êtes long frappeur , laissez votre driver dans votre sac et placez la balle à une distance de vue , car vous aurez de très mauvaises surprises… de l’eau à des endroits inattendus et si vous sortez de l’allée, direction vers l’eau …. Il n’y a pas d’herbes longues pour garder la balle en jeu ! Je l’ai joué, est-ce que je vais le rejouer, non ! Désolé d’être franc .

Concrete greens
The once-great greens seemed to be extremely fast... like putting on concrete. I believe they were cut too short and none of us could control any backspin.

Front side makes sense...
Apparently the course was altered to make room for some houses, so the flow on the back 9 doesn't flow.
The greens were in great shape, but this is just one of those courses that doesn't excite me.
I think everybody should play it at least once, but I could not see playing this course regularly. But that's just me.

Decent community course
First time playing this course and for the price, thought it was fine. Read some previous reviews and agree that undulating greens, closely cut fringes where balls rolled off the green was frustrating, but that's sort of a signature of the course so it is what it is and we just laughed it off and moved on to the next hole..

Fun course
This links course has some very interesting holes and a lot of false fronts on the greens. The greens were fast and in great shape. I’m an old guy but played from the tips with three very nice younger guys and did pretty good but enjoyed the round immensely. I would definitely play there again.

Good Greens
The greens were in great condition. Holes 6 through 9 are back par 3's followed by back to back par 4's, all of which have a lot of elevation changes. They are among the best holes on the course. The back 9 has some funky holes, but overall a good value
