Links of Sandpiper
About
Links of Sandpiper in Lakeland offers a traditional links layout that sprawls across rolling terrain. The course is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels to enjoy but it has enough challenges for more advanced players as well. The course is anything but flat, and the ups and downs are the most challenging element you'll encounter. The small, undulating greens and narrow landing areas off of the fairways demand accuracy. Combined with elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers, proper club selection and course management also play important roles. Picking the right lines from the tees into the greens requires careful thought. You'll face a few blind shots thanks to the rolling terrain and there are also several bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. Links of Sandpiper's final four holes are the toughest stretch.

Slowest round ever
Extremely slow. Maybe just a bad day but the pace of play was horrendous. Five hours on a fairly short course is unacceptable. Not going back.
Thanks for the feedback, and we hope to see you back soon.
Not our cup of tea
The layout for this course is so bizarre hard to describe. It seems like it was crammed in to housing development. It was SO crowded, along with weird course design we wouldn't go back.
Thanks for the honest feedback and we hope you'll give us another try.
We're glad you had such a great 5 star experience!
Not long
Great course just wish it was longer. It's only 6003 yds from the back tees. 6 par 3's and 5 par 5's.
Thanks for the great rating and review!
Back nine had a lot of water and it’s good to have an app on your phone to show where the water is very good day of golf
Thanks for a great rating!

Hello, bigvulture. Please feel free to comment further on your experience.
General Maintenance is Needed!
Course is in very worn out and in rough shape.
Greens and its surrounding aprons are cut so close that approach shots don't hold the greens.
Fairways and rough were unmown on several holes with weeds and dandelions taking over both areas.
There is no difference between rough and fairways on several holes.
There was no starter, ranger, beverage cart, or any course employees available except for the pro shop attendant.
Seemed to me that more attention is paid to the clubhouse bar than is to the golf course.
Several holes had overflowing trash bins with beer cans lying around the tees.
Course layout is very narrow in some spots due to tee and greens being crammed into limit space due to excess home building.
I started out as a foursome but ended as just a single, due to the other players not willing to wait to complete a 5+ hour round on a Saturday afternoon.
Most of this could be corrected with some staff and if the community demanded better for their membership.
There is better golf experiences in the greater Lakeland area that cost less, I recommend you spend your money at these other locations.
This experience was very disappointing and I feel for the members of the community who have spent there hard earned money, hoping to acquire an affordable golf community, being served in this disrespectful manner.
I will not return unless improvements are to be made.

Perfect day to play
we are always working on our game, with that said this was a great day to just go out and hit the ball. our 4some had an amazing first time out on this course and would definitely come back. we do live an hour aways so if that doesn't speak volumes, I don't know what does!
Thanks for coming out and we hope to see you back soon!
Great Round
Normally I stay away from weekend golf, as it could be an extremely long day. We finished our round in 4 1/2 hours which I didn’t find that bad.
The course itself was in very good shape, there was grass in the fairways, the bunkers were well kept, and the greens were in very playable condition. The back 9 was a bit tougher, as position golf comes into play.
There were several water coolers around the course. Overall, if I were ever back in the area, it would definitely be a replay. I actually might play it again this week, it was a great deal!
Thanks for a stellar rating and we hope to welcome you back!
Challenging greens
The course has a nice layout which is different between front and back nine. The fairways are not great probably due to dry conditions but the greens were very nice but very challenging. We will go back again
Thanks for the review!
Greens
The greens were great, fairways were pretty good.
We're glad to see you had a good time!
Wow! Two courses in one..
Handsome, well kept grounds, greens in good shape. 4 pars and a bird on the front nine!… and then it happened, lots of water, bunkers, angled fairways and tough to hold greens… for sure a very challenging back nine but look forward to going after it again!
We're glad you had a great time and we are so thrilled with your review!
Very hard
Course was hard. Grass was not growing so each shot was like hard pan. Greens where hard but nice.
We appreciate the honest feedback.
