About
Links of Sandpiper in Lakeland offers a traditional links layout that sprawls across rolling terrain. The course is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels to enjoy but it has enough challenges for more advanced players as well. The course is anything but flat, and the ups and downs are the most challenging element you'll encounter. The small, undulating greens and narrow landing areas off of the fairways demand accuracy. Combined with elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers, proper club selection and course management also play important roles. Picking the right lines from the tees into the greens requires careful thought. You'll face a few blind shots thanks to the rolling terrain and there are also several bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. Links of Sandpiper's final four holes are the toughest stretch.

Interesting Layout - Great Staff!
WE played this course a few years ago by accident. At that time they were clearly in the process of making improvement. The layout is really fun. But at the time it was all potential. Well they are much closer to reaching that potential. The tee-boxes are much better, the sand traps are in good condition, the fairways well maintained and the greens run really true. They were a bit slow but this likely due to rain the previous day. The staff is awesome! Very friendly and welcoming! Would recommend this course to anyone.

Tight in spots
Overall a very enjoyable course, about 5500 yards from the white tees. The greens were about as perfect as you could expect. They were fairly firm, felt like they stimped out at about 11, so not too fast, nor too slow. Fairways were average, but not bad. Front nine was fairly easy, back nine with water hazards was a bit more challenging, but not overly difficult. Some holes require you to manage your approach carefully, especially on the back nine. The front nine was a bit tight with the 5th green, 6th tee, and 9th green in fairly close proximity to each other. Again, overall, a nice course at a bargain. I hope to play this one again sometime.

Good course!
The staff are excellent. Friendly and helpful. Although no beverage cart. The greens are running fast and breaking true. They are firm so judge your shots well or go off the back.The bunkers were fluffy and well maintained. I was only in two. The lay out of the course is a little "different". Six par threes. Several holes were shortened to allow houses to be crammed in. Your GPS may or may not have the new yardages. Best to bring a laser. No driving range. The warm up hitting net is the best I've seen in the area. Lots of elevation changes on the course. I played with 10 ugly, smelly, degenerate friends and we all had a good time.
