About
Links of Sandpiper in Lakeland offers a traditional links layout that sprawls across rolling terrain. The course is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels to enjoy but it has enough challenges for more advanced players as well. The course is anything but flat, and the ups and downs are the most challenging element you'll encounter. The small, undulating greens and narrow landing areas off of the fairways demand accuracy. Combined with elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers, proper club selection and course management also play important roles. Picking the right lines from the tees into the greens requires careful thought. You'll face a few blind shots thanks to the rolling terrain and there are also several bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. Links of Sandpiper's final four holes are the toughest stretch.

Enjoyable Golf Experience
The changes to Links of Sandpiper are worth giving the course a chance. Outstanding ammenities, staff, and value for the price. I've heard most of the complaints about the layout changes on the back nine. The course is not set up for bombers and long ball hitters. So stay home unless you are willing to play placement golf, use more of your clubs and don't complain. At this time of year, most of Florida's golf courses are full and thus pace of play is slower. Doesn't matter what course you are on. This is a very good thing for golf generally, and Sandpiper. Go play Sandpiper and enjoy the experience. I have to rate my experiences at Sandpiper as excellent all around.

Pace of play
Everything about the course was brought to a stop with pace of play. I might suggest a ranger to help the pace. The greens on the front are 180 degrees from the back.
All in all I would thinkof playing again because of the challenge of the course.

Overbooked
Overall, the course is greatly improved over what it used to be like. The exception is hole 18 which has been really messed up due to home construction.
The pace of play has been really slow lately. It seems like tee times are being booked too close together.

Saturday outing
We had a wonderful time. My son down from Atlanta he as ever played the course with the new changes. The greens were good and the fairways were good even the sand traps had good texture. The weather was over cast with spots of rain. The course soaked up the rain. A good time was had by all

Interesting Central Florida Course
The layout of this course is deceptively challenging, but definitely a lot of scorable holes for longer hitters. Drivable par 4s if you can hit 270+. Pace of play was definitely slower than I wish, but I’d definitely chalk that up to the groups ahead of us and not the course itself. Really liked the warmup area with netted range.

Good Value
Fun little course. The clubhouse and facilities are great. Course is a little squeezed for space, but the back 9 layout is fun. Greens had just been sanded. Would recommend

Local course is great
This course has been there for years, but I’ve never played it until today. A friend recommended it, and I was very pleased. Course was in good shape and well maintained. Greens were sandy, but effective. Not a favorite, but I’ll play it again.

slow play
I enjoy this course as much as any I play. This being said, this round was terrible. there were two to four groups waiting at every tee. the group behind us continually hit into our group. This is not a problem with the course but rather the conduct of individuals.
After a near miss from behind, and almost 4 hours on the course, I decided it was time to call it a day.
This was the exception and I will continue to play here because it is an excellent course.
