Links of Sandpiper

About
Links of Sandpiper in Lakeland offers a traditional links layout that sprawls across rolling terrain. The course is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels to enjoy but it has enough challenges for more advanced players as well. The course is anything but flat, and the ups and downs are the most challenging element you'll encounter. The small, undulating greens and narrow landing areas off of the fairways demand accuracy. Combined with elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers, proper club selection and course management also play important roles. Picking the right lines from the tees into the greens requires careful thought. You'll face a few blind shots thanks to the rolling terrain and there are also several bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. Links of Sandpiper's final four holes are the toughest stretch.

Not bad
The pro shop/ bar and restaurant were very nice. I appreciated the new remodel. The greens rolled very tru and the fairways were easy to hit from. Some had a lot of erosion and ground under repair which can be tough to handle during a heavy rain season. The only part I didn’t care for was the new very tight lay out and the reel possibility of being hit with a golf ball. Not too bad for $26 on a Sunday morning.
Good value for the money
Course in decent shape but improving. Play here at least once a week. Staff friendly and accommodating, especially Heriberto in the pro-shop. Grill/bar was good.
Course updates
The greens were in better shape and have recovered from the recent heat wave. Spraying for the larger grass style weeds needs better attention but it's improving well from the recent course upgrades. Hole15 the major change is gonna take time to grow in nice.
Course change
The new houses have messed up the back 9 of the course. Hole 16 was almost all ground under repair and the other holes were not good. They have shortened the course and some holes because of the houses.
Always a fun round!
Links of Sandpiper is always a great budget round. The course was wide open and in decent shape for summer in FL. The only hole with issues was #16 because majority of the fairway is under repair. Other than that, the course looked great today!
Enjoyable Round
Just a fun course to play. Greens are mostly good with some that are getting attention. Fairways are mostly good with Hole #16 fairway under repair. While playing I witnessed the greens being cut and rolled. So, you can expect putts to run true for the most part.
Worth Playing
Shot placement is important on several holes. Having a good GPS App with overhead visuals and dynamic distance measurements is very helpful for planning shots. Some greens were a bit rough in areas but not bad. Fairways were generally good. I have only played there a few times being new to the area but will definitely return. I do recommend this course.
Nice course
We plan here several times a year. It was a little bit more busy because of the 4 of July but overall a good day.
Sandpooper.
The greens were scattered with disease or mole cricket circles everywhere. Only 3 decent greens. The course was mowed, but not in great condition. The traps were horrible. No sand. I’ve played this course over 25 years and this is not worth the money. Need to lower the rates too $25
Rough condition
Always enjoy playing at the Sandpiper when coming on my annual trip to the area. The course was in rough condition with the fairways littered with crabgrass. The greens had obviously been sprayed for the crabgrass but left behind dozens of bare spots where the treatment was applied. The staff was friendly and for the price it was acceptable. Will play again next year
Rained out
I was rained out and tried to get a rain check ,,,,,,,
The golf shop said I would have to call golf now for a rain check !!!!!
Please help
Rain check for nine holes !!!!!
Love this course but is needing some love
Play here very often but seems like it’s sliding a bit. Course staff is always awesome but the course is a bit rough. Lots of weeds starting on the greens. Mowing seems a bit neglected. Tee box’s on most holes are just sand and dirt.
Definitely Worth Playing
Greens were in better shape than the fairways. Fairways had some rough areas but still playable. Some rain is needed in the area which would help a lot. I liked the layout. I recommend using a GPS app with interactive aireal views. It helps to plan shots when you are.not familiar with the.course. This was my second round there and I got a good rate on GolfNow.
