About
Plantation Palms Golf Club, designed by David Harman, provides every Tampa golfer with a challenging and rewarding golf experience. The links-style design starts with a welcoming par 5, and then slowly steps up with a mixture of strong par 3s. Just 10 minutes north of Tampa, this course was carved a 400-acre citrus grove that slopes from west to east, providing interesting elevation changes. Water is in play on 17 of 18 holes. Plantation Palms Golf Club has an attractive framing of greens by the use of pine trees, water and large snow-white sand traps. The true-rolling elevated greens have good movement and are a challenge for golfers.

great layout
Great layout, wet in places. Greens were in good shape but on the slow side.
Great Course, Poor Customer Service
I called the Pro Shop about 4 days prior to my trip and explained that I would be a single, would there be a chance I could get paired or play with one of their regular groups? I got a flat out NO. I did play this course as a single once before and ended up behind a 3some that would not let me play through. I only went on this day because of the great price on GolfNow. Worst Customer Service I have ever experienced.
This course is in very bad shape.
Played this course based on its reputation as being a premier course. There were invasive grasses/weeds in every fairway, on every green and every tee. Every green had dozens of unrepaired (impossible to miss) pitch marks, and most of the bunkers were unraked. At least five pins were not seated properly in the cup, resulting in damage to the edge of the hole. Overall, we were very unhappy with the course conditions.
Good layout with several challenging holes.
Greens need improvement. Sufficient amount of grass but it was long and shaggy. Greens were very slow.
Less than expected of a great design
Tee time was for 1:09 pm but no one told me when I checked in that there was a junior event and that I would have to play the back first. Found out from person involved in the junior event who also told me that it would be clear when I got back to the first tee. Problem was the juniors were about 1 hr 20 min late teeing off so that when we finished th 18th, there were juniors still on the first and every other hole on the front. In addition, the greens were not up to the standards of a year ago. Very slow and rough to put on.
Very Disappointed
After 3 hours we only completed nine holes due to slow play, staff was nice enough to give us rain checks for 9 but not sure I will even go back. Driving range was like hitting out of sand traps (no grass), finally got a key for a cart 3 minutes before our tee time. Greens must have been aerated recently because there was some sand on them. I had heard good things about this course but can say overall I was very disappointed.
Great Layout, greens need work
This course was in incredible condition, with the exception of the greens. The greens were being worked on and were fully covered in sand. The fairways and bunkers were in excellent shape. Should post a warning at time of reservation that greens are being worked on. Needs better GPS in carts.

Great place to play
Enough tees to make it enjoyable for every level, but none too easy. Greens above average. Fairways good or above average.
Too slow - 5+ hour round
This course is semi private - seems a little pricey but I played with a coupon so it was fairly priced. They ran out of carts and had to wait 20 minmutes to get one. The driving range was closed - for no apparent reason. The pace of play was super slow - 5+ hour round. The course has a good layout but not my cup of tea for $50.
Challenging, but the greens need some attention.
I love to play this course because of its layout and challenging holes. It can be a very tough course even under the best conditions. However, this summer the greens were very patchy and the traps needed some fresh sand.
