The Groves Golf and Country Club

About
Surrounded by 200 acres of carefully preserved wetlands, the Groves Golf & Country Club offers championship golf in a spectacular setting. It sits conveniently just 20 minutes north of Tampa in Land O Lakes. Maintaining the natural beauty of the landscape was a top priority when designing the golf course, which is why the layout manages to seamlessly blend into the surroundings. The course, which measures 4,019 yards, offers all of the challenging qualities of a championship-length course but can be played in four hours or less. The player-friendly golf course offers something for all skill levels whether you are a scratch golfer looking for a quick round, or a beginner looking for some challenging practice. In addition to the course, The Groves also boasts a unique aqua driving range as well as putting and chipping greens.

Great course, slow pace of play
We absolutely love this course. It’s a short course but very challenging. They keep it in impeccable shape.
My only complaint today is that the pace of play was very, very slow. The starter had us begin at the 10th hole because of a group ahead of us but there was two groups ahead of us that were very slow. In fact, they spent nearly 1/2 hour on the 10th hole, with much of it spent fishing out balls. That was not cool. Very selfish and disrespectful of our time.
That said, still loved the course.
Little Gem
Par 65 course that is challenging and fun nestled in a lovely community with a friendly staff. After a round you can enjoy a pitcher of beer and tasty Cuban sandwich. Affordable gem that won’t disappoint!

We'll keep on coming each week... llove everything about it!
Nicely Maintained Course
This short course fools you into thinking it is much easier but after a few balls in the brush you realize that angles are super important.
Note: a large group, certainly members, were lined up on the first tee. Rather than make us wait they were super courteous to allow us to tee off ahead. Having played at many community courses, this was the nicest group I have encountered.
review
The Groves is always in good condition.....for a short course ( 4000 yds from the tips ) you can get into some trouble if you don't drive the ball straight as it is narrow in spots and there is plenty of water hazards on most holes. The staff is very accommodating as they let the three of us use separate carts....
A fun course to play
Course is in great condition. Highly recommend it.
Great Course - Great Value
The Groves prides themselves on maintaining a course with great conditions ... even during winter months. It is deceptively tricky and will challenge you.
For first timers...keep your ball where you can see it!
Good course and very challenging. Completely changed up the way I typically play a hole (Driver, wedge...) I've never used my 7 iron more off the tee! Really good course to work on your short game.
If I had a negative, the homes on the course are close...so make sure you're accurate and keep the ball in play.
Great Course
I really enjoyed this course.. it is on the smaller side but I liked that I got to use my irons a lot to better that part of my game. The pace was great and the staff was super friendly! I will be back. Thanks for the great time!
Great course for newer female player
No par 5’s, but enough challenges. It is well maintained. Be advised they have installed GPS on carts and if you go to close to a green you’re cart will stop. Only way to move is in reverse. They didn’t tell us about this our first time there.
There’s a screen installed in the upper area of cart that shows yardage from your location. That’s helpful.
As good as it’s been
This course continues to amaze. Most recently they have improved carts by adding GPS. The new tee boxes are in and look to be getting close to opening (can’t wait). The Fairways were over seeded and are in immaculate condition. The greens are rolling true and seem to be picking up speed. And the Staff as always is extremely pleasant. Of the several times I’ve played here I have yet to have a bad experience and will continue to enjoy this lovely diamond in the rough.
