The Groves Golf and Country Club
About
Surrounded by 200 acres of carefully preserved wetlands, the Groves Golf & Country Club offers championship golf in a spectacular setting. It sits conveniently just 20 minutes north of Tampa in Land O Lakes. Maintaining the natural beauty of the landscape was a top priority when designing the golf course, which is why the layout manages to seamlessly blend into the surroundings. The course, which measures 4,026 yards, offers all of the challenging qualities of a championship-length course but can be played in four hours or less. The player-friendly golf course offers something for all skill levels whether you are a scratch golfer looking for a quick round, or a beginner looking for some challenging practice. In addition to the course, The Groves also boasts a unique aqua driving range as well as putting and chipping greens.

part of the course Photo submitted by stylsvig on 02/16/2013
Except for two holes basically out of service and no heads up, the course is one of the best maintained around.
Do not recommend more like an executive course. Not a real golf course.
Too much for this executive course. One hole closed.
Nice Course close to me
Great condition other then hole 14 was being worked on .
60$ for executive course
The fairways and greens were in decent condition, but that alone doesn’t justify a $52 price tag for a short course with an unplayable hole. Hole 14 was under construction, and this was not disclosed when I booked my tee time.
We were also paired with a member whose constant, unsolicited commentary on club selection and shot decisions made the round unnecessarily frustrating and detracted from the overall enjoyment of the game.
Between the course limitations and an overall experience that didn’t reflect the cost, this round fell well short of expectations. There are better values and more enjoyable playing experiences available elsewhere.
Shot makers layout
Have played this course a dozen times. The greens are almost always excellent. I like the mix of par 3 & 4 holes. It takes playing the 18th hole a few times to learn the proper strategy . Don't try to overpower course. Pace of play was excellent on day we played.
Love this Course!
Right from the start, check in was fast and friendly!
They got new Carts with GPS scoring!!!!
Very challenging experience, course layout is great!
Yes, lost some balls(challenging course), but found some to!
Overall, I love the drive from Spring Hill, to play this well maintained course!
Needs TLC
I have played this course several times. But for some reason it was not in the shape it has been in the past. There were lots of areas on the course that had ropes and sticks for bad areas that were being repaired. I will come back in a few moths after I read the current reviews that this has been corrected.
Going downhill
This course used to be a favorite but it is steadily going downhill. Greens bumpy and slow, rolling would be a good idea. Fairways patchy and no grass in places. Tee boxes look like a driving range. Priced way to high for what it is. Starting to look more like Meadow Oaks than The Groves I used to know.
Over attentiveness to play
Very rude locals pushing their way through the course. Very rude staff criticizing ball retrieval in the woods. Looking for a ball for more than a minute is heavily criticized and enforced by the staff. And this is when the course was experiencing 30% or less play.
Fun course
Course was in great shape. Greens a tad slow but rolled smooth. Obviously it’s a shorter course but fun because it gives enough challenges of you want to play aggressive.
Fun Track
There were some rough spots on the course, but they were getting necessary attention and most of the course was in good condition for this time of year. Fun layout and an enjoyable round.
Nice layout
Nice course to play. Tee boxes need more work. Greens could use tending to.
