LOT OF WATER HAZARD
VERY NICE GOLF COURSE, THIS IS A SHORT ONE BUT U MUST PLAY FAIR AND DO NOT CHALLENGE IT IF THEN U WOULD GET IN TROUBLE.
Bring a good short game!
Short but very challenging, especially on a windy day,
Lots of WATER
Played here before...short course, relatively speaking. Greens were in great shape as were most fairways. Pro shop staff as well as starter were great. Very friendly and cordial. Lots of water...not always in play. We'll be back!!
This course has a lot of water.
The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in excellent condition. Althought this is a relatively short course, it requires accurate drives from the tees to avoid the many bodies of water. The course layout requires the use of almost every club in the bag.
Don't be fooled by the yardage!
Crane Lakes is deceptively challenging if judged by the scorecard only. Most golfers would turn their noses up at a 5,000 yard course - not so fast! Challenge awaits at every turn. Of course, most holes are on the short side, but ball position is at a premium from tee to green. Lots of water hazards, many in unseen locations. Overall, a good test for anyone.
Only shortcoming was a lack of a course marshall to keep play moving at a faster pace.
Very fun course!
First time I played in 8 years here and was pleasantly surprised at how well the course was maintained. Our foursome played in just under 4 hours although a ranger did come by while we were allowing a twosome to play through and accused us of playing as a group of six. We tried to explain this to him but he just couldn't get the chip off his shoulder with the faux authority he seemed to relish bestowed upon him by course management. This was the only negative on a really fun round for a good winter rate. But it won't stop me from playing there again.
Water, water everywhere.
I spent so much time in the water I thought I was fishing. This is a short, tight course not designed for the hard slice or duck hook. Although it is a very fair course layout, it is unforgiving of those who don't always hit the ball cleanly. It was challenging, yet fun. Good thing I brought alot of balls because I needed them. I will play this course again but will be ready for it next time.
Great course. Bring your short game.
My Wife and I have played Crane Lakes before but not in the pase several years. The course was in excellent shape just as we remembered and the greens putted very true. The course is short by most standards (Par 66) but it makes up for it by putting a premium on accuracy. There is a lot of water, on every hole. 14 is a par 4 with an island green. From the back tees, the big hitters can use a driver on all the par 4s and 5s. But if you want to sharpen your short game, this is the course you will want to play. The staff was friendly and professional and the starter allowed us to go out as a twosome ahead of the regular Tuesday morning group. This was our first time to book a round through Golf Now but it certainly won't be the last. We are very pleased. Thank you
Very enjoyable course!
Great course with lakes on every hole. Well maintained, enjoyable layout, fun day! Would definitely play again!
It takes more than water to make a good course.
Water on every hole but one. Too many par threes that looked the same. Nice greens.
Short with lots of water
Crane Lakes is a relatively short course, but water comes into play on virtually every hole. The course is very popular, but the pace of play is reasonable (3.5-4 hours).
The course is in good condition, and is fun to play. If you can avoid the water, you'll generally score better than your handicap.
Good test from back tees and great greens.
Best conditioned greens I have played in Florida. A couple quirky holes but overall good value and experience.
Course in very good shape.
While not a long course, water presents challenge on 16 of the 18 holes. Accuracy is important on this course.
Plenty of water...quite challenging
This was a great Golf course...the staff was terrific the pro shop was filled with anything that you may need...Lots of water..well maintained
Short but challenging
Don't be fooled by the par and the yardage, this course is narrow and full of water hazards. Greens were in great shape, the fairways were in the process of being over-seeded and the tees looked like they had just been done.
Be weary if you're a slicer, the houses lining the right side of almost every hole are not too appreciative of golfers hitting into their yards. Their grass is also very thick and makes it tough to find your ball to place back in play. You might just find a few extras if you bother to look.
Overall a good course, but if you're like me and have trouble hitting it where you want, be prepared with plenty of balls in your bag.
Lots of water
The course was only a par 66 but I think it playes much harder than that. There is water on every hole and the bunkers had all new sand added to them so anything hit into the bunkers had a fried egg lie. It was fun to play and yes I would play again.
One of the best kept courses in Central Fla
I play this course all the time and love it. You will not find a more challenging Executive Course anywhere. When the wind is up use 1-2 more clubs and stay straight. There is water everywhere but if you are straight you will be ok. The greens are well kept and nice to putt on. Try it and I know you will come back.
Very nicely maintained, the fairways are fairways, great grass.
Great practice for your shorter game, the course is only a par 66 as there are four par 3's on each nine.
Has water hazards, but the greens and landing areas are generous.
You feel like you are playing on a professionally maintained course.
Beautiful surroundings, I thought it would be an easy course and found it to be challanging.
I thought it would be easier as it is a par 66. I found it challenging due to the water.
