the course is very well maintained
A great executive course with short game challenges. Extremely well maintained with fast greens and friendly staff.
A Wonderful Day at Crane Lakes
Course is in outstanding condition and water hazards have more balls now I have been there. Don't yet the card yardages fool you, Senior (green) and Men's (White) are a very good challange. Good Luch and Enjoy
A pleasant round
The course length is short but the layout still offers some nice challenges, particularly in the wind. Homes closely border some of the fairways -- several with attractive plantings to help beautify the scenery. The course was well maintained with only a couple of greens showing the stress of a long drought. The carts are fairly new, and the starter was helpful in getting groups off nearly on time. Overall a pleasant experience -- will play again.
Great time
We showed up real earily and went straight tothe practice green. Then we asked if we could check in and tee off earily. They politely said yes and off we went. We later caught up to a 4some, (grandparents w son and 5-8 year boy) all playing, and before we finished on the previous hole
they told us we could play thru although we were in no hurry.
Love the course condition.
This little course has some bite!
This course is really nice. It's a par 66 but don't let that fool you.
There is water on every hole. Your either surrounded by it on either side of the fairway or going over it to the greens, Oh, and there are houses on whatever side there is no water. I made the mistake of pulling driver too many times. Shot placement in the short grass is important here. The greens were fast and had plenty of elevation changes. Maybe not as long as some of the other courses, but just as tough. I look forward to a return visit.
LOT OF WATER HAZARD
VERY NICE GOLF COURSE, THIS IS A SHORT ONE BUT U MUST PLAY FAIR AND DO NOT CHALLENGE IT IF THEN U WOULD GET IN TROUBLE.
Lots of WATER
Played here before...short course, relatively speaking. Greens were in great shape as were most fairways. Pro shop staff as well as starter were great. Very friendly and cordial. Lots of water...not always in play. We'll be back!!
This course has a lot of water.
The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in excellent condition. Althought this is a relatively short course, it requires accurate drives from the tees to avoid the many bodies of water. The course layout requires the use of almost every club in the bag.
Don't be fooled by the yardage!
Crane Lakes is deceptively challenging if judged by the scorecard only. Most golfers would turn their noses up at a 5,000 yard course - not so fast! Challenge awaits at every turn. Of course, most holes are on the short side, but ball position is at a premium from tee to green. Lots of water hazards, many in unseen locations. Overall, a good test for anyone.
Only shortcoming was a lack of a course marshall to keep play moving at a faster pace.
Very fun course!
First time I played in 8 years here and was pleasantly surprised at how well the course was maintained. Our foursome played in just under 4 hours although a ranger did come by while we were allowing a twosome to play through and accused us of playing as a group of six. We tried to explain this to him but he just couldn't get the chip off his shoulder with the faux authority he seemed to relish bestowed upon him by course management. This was the only negative on a really fun round for a good winter rate. But it won't stop me from playing there again.
Water, water everywhere.
I spent so much time in the water I thought I was fishing. This is a short, tight course not designed for the hard slice or duck hook. Although it is a very fair course layout, it is unforgiving of those who don't always hit the ball cleanly. It was challenging, yet fun. Good thing I brought alot of balls because I needed them. I will play this course again but will be ready for it next time.
Great course. Bring your short game.
My Wife and I have played Crane Lakes before but not in the pase several years. The course was in excellent shape just as we remembered and the greens putted very true. The course is short by most standards (Par 66) but it makes up for it by putting a premium on accuracy. There is a lot of water, on every hole. 14 is a par 4 with an island green. From the back tees, the big hitters can use a driver on all the par 4s and 5s. But if you want to sharpen your short game, this is the course you will want to play. The staff was friendly and professional and the starter allowed us to go out as a twosome ahead of the regular Tuesday morning group. This was our first time to book a round through Golf Now but it certainly won't be the last. We are very pleased. Thank you
Very enjoyable course!
Great course with lakes on every hole. Well maintained, enjoyable layout, fun day! Would definitely play again!
Short with lots of water
Crane Lakes is a relatively short course, but water comes into play on virtually every hole. The course is very popular, but the pace of play is reasonable (3.5-4 hours).
The course is in good condition, and is fun to play. If you can avoid the water, you'll generally score better than your handicap.
Good test from back tees and great greens.
Best conditioned greens I have played in Florida. A couple quirky holes but overall good value and experience.
