Great course but turned too soon
Driving to the course, we turned too soon into the St. James Golf Community. It is difficult to see the sign that says golf course, straight. Had difficulty getting into the community we should not have been in! We never waited at a hole and completed the course in the recommended 4 hours. Most fairways were wide but there were some with mater or marsh to go over.
Just OK
Played there a few times recently and really enjoyed the playability of the course especially the finest greens in this area
While the greens are fast and true the rest of the course needs attention especially the tee boxes Bedides cigarette butts there were plenty of broken tees on The tee boxes
Finally while the staff is friendly the clubhouse is below average in term of location and cleanliness
It seems that the club suffers from lack of a vision in making this a more enjoyable golf venue
Great course with excellent greens
Played early afternoon in windy conditions. Pace of play was slower than expected but still reasonable (4 1/2 hours). Greens are in great shape, but rarely a flat put.
Hard times at st james
Beautiful course weather and conditions. Need to be very accurate just because you land on the fairway that does not mean where your ball will stop. Greens are hard no stopping there either roll off into water or bunkers.
Nice links course
They keep the course nice. Good for golfers who want a decent course and wont break the bank
Great golf couse, but slow play
Great golf course. If the posted playing time was respected (4 hrs) it would have been excellent. Greens were in great shape and fast. Will return.
Fun track
Grip it and rip it you can spray the ball around and still have a shot. Fast and undulated greens staying below the hole is key the starter said they were rolling at about an 11
Nice track, good value
Very busy course, play lagged a bit but not overly so. Not especially challenging, very wide open with generous landing areas, but lots of fun. I imagine playing from the tips would make it play much differently. Greens outstanding, very fast and true. Enjoyed playing it, will probably return.
Greens are fast fast fast
I enjoy the course, but you get to where you start playing defensively. Unless you are a really good golfer, you are going to get frustrated.
Plays extremely long in windy conditions
Saint James has very fast greens and coupled with strong winds makes it extremely challenging to score well. The greens are in great shape and roll true.
Good course
Fast green, chalenging. To bad quite wet beaucause of the eavy rain the night before. But well worth playing! Will return!
Looking forward to coming back
After a week of constant rain and recommendation of a friend we decided to try this club out. Although it was very wet and in my personal opinion should have been cart path only to save the course, it was in great shape, especially for the price! Some of the best public greens you will play and can't beat the price. Great smooth true roll with a decent speed and fairly firm for the amount of water. Can't wait to come back.
Nice course
Tee box new , good position, fairways ok drain slowly, greens very good , fast. One BIG complaint; very very slow play taking almost 3 hrs to play 10 round due to club over booking golfers. Heavy rain and lghtning storm came up which stopped play. Course would not give 9 hole rain check because we had been at play more than 3 hours which was beyond my control.
Great to play golf again
First time playing since October in Vermont. Couldn't play in GA either because of the cold. Really nice to get where it is warmer. Anyway, the staff here are great and helpful. Course has driving range and practice bunkers, putting and chipping areas. Unfortunately, they must have had a lot of rain recently so the course was very wet. Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed being in nice weather and being able to play some golf again. Would love to play the course again when it has dried out. Unfortunately, I have to return to GA tomorrow and VT in 2 weeks.
