The Champion Turf Club at St. James

Got there and was told that the greens were brown. They have killed them and are replacing but I played anyway. Course has a nice layout if you get out of the fairway you will be punished by heavy rough and deep moguls. I told the guy that attends the carts and bags that the new BROWN turf had to be the fastest greens I have ever putted next to impossible as they ungulate so much but still had fun. all those 3 puts will help my handy cap. I will go back but not for many months because of the greens that are being redone.

Don't worry about the color of the greens they play fine.

We use to play this course all the time about 4 years ago. At that time the condition of the course was okay but nothing spectacular. Today the fairways are extremely well maintained, thick and cushioned and the greens are excellent. Very impressed with the turn around of this course and will be playing it quite often.

Course is looking great. The greens were. Fast and rolling nice. Tee boxes are nice and if you don't make the fairway good luck finding your ball.

Not crowded, lot of breeze despite the heat. it is a nice course with very different patterns for good training.

The course has made significant improvements since the last time I played this course. The greens are in great shape and running pretty quick. Much better than my last time when they were shaggy. The course has a great lay out with some fun holes. I don't understand why they don't mow the tee boxes. It's like hitting out of the rough and my long tees barely sat about the grass in some areas. Overall, excellent value and look forward to playing it again.

Wonderful time at Champions Turf. Fairways were plush and nice. Greens were excellent, although there was a light sanding on them, it did not affect the putting speed at all. Very undulating greens and difficult to read for playing the first time. Only made 2 birdies for a 79, but had a great time. Will play this course again when I'm back in the area.

Course is in excellent condition. Greens are phenomenal, fast and true. Keep up the great work.

Greens were awesome very challenging. Entire course is shaping up to be a top notch course in the area. played in just over 3 hours as a foursome. Staff was very friendly and helpful. New owners are taking course in the right direction. very pleased with what I saw

Grass just off almost every fairway needs H2o.

Hopefully the "rainy season" will assist with needed growth. Great value ..... Par 4's a lot of fun due to length.

The course looks a little dry in areas, but the fairways and rough are in good shape. The greens are as hard and as fast as concrete. If you are not below the hole, good luck. I will come back in a year or so when the greens grow in and slow down and soften up. The staff was very kind. Would liked to have see a drink cart on the course.

The course has some of the best greens i have played on in a long time. The rest of the course is in pretty good shape nothing really to complain about.

I always get our group an early tee time and today was no different. We had a 7 am tee time and I was there at 6:15. No problem at all that no one from the course was there. They got there around 6:30 and I waited a while before checking in. I work with customers early also and realize the staff needed time to open and get things going. I saw the starter come out so I went up to the door and it felt like it was out of square as the bottom came open but not the top. I pulled it harder and the door opened. Then I was rudely told that "Hey man the door is locked for a reason" . Well it wasn't completely locked and I did not appreciate the tone. We will probably be back because the other guys like the course but I will not be choosing this course for the rudeness of the pro shop staff. The cart guys were great. Sorry, but I think you need to know because another guy outside with me had the same type of experience another day.

Greens are fast and hard, play less than true distance to stay putting and not chipping! This course is getting better and better everytime I play! One suggestion please change out range balls they are used and abused!

First time player. Matched with 3 others to make foursome. Should have spread us out for faster players. Play was slow mostly because the greens are so fast. Anything above the hole will result in 3 putt. Unique layout for this part of Florida. Links style, not a tree to be found. I will try this course again soon.

The fairways were forgiving but many had drainage problems in the second cut areas. I loved the layout. Access into the course is very confusing as the course is not affiliated with the housing development. Drive past the gated community to the next driveway to enter the Pro shop.

The greens had all been updated and they were a pleasure to putt.

This course had its greens redone lately. They are smooth and fast but also very firm.

The layout is OK but some local knowledge will help you hitting to the right spots.

We played with 2 gentlemen that knew the course and they where a great help to point out our targets from the tees.

We enjoyed the round and would play again.
