The Club Renaissance
About
The beautifully manicured, par-72 Renaissance Golf Course features two distinctive nines. The front nine has an open links feel to it with wide fairways and greens that will accept bump-and-run approach shots. The back nine requires more accuracy from tee to green as it meanders through a large conservation area. Water comes into play on every hole on the inward nine on this course designed by Chip Powell. Most fairways are lined with stately pines and ancient oaks. The greens at the Renaissance Golf Club are a pleasure to putt. These TifEagle Bermuda grass putting surfaces are state-of-the-art and roll fast.

My dear wife teeing off Photo submitted by strybosch on 02/17/2015
Where a tee time doesn't mean anything at all.
(First of all a point of note, I do not leave golf reviews) But the amount of frustration, aggravation and complete waste of time our foursome experienced was ridiculously uncalled for. We drove almost 2 hours from Punta Gorda, FL. to arrive at Club Renaissance arriving 25 minutes before our tee time. We proceeded to check in at the pro shop where we were told a morning tourney started an hour late and we would have to wait until they were finished. Tee time was at 1:48pm, we hit our first ball at 2:40pm after every single other golfer teed off before us. Pace of play was pathetic, we didn't finish 18 until literally in the dark waiting after waiting on every hole. I truly feel like I brought three friends to a clown show instead of a pleasant day of golf. How about DO NOT post tee times at your course then completely ignore reserved tee times posted. No concern for the players, you've got your money already. Nothing but confusion at the pro shop desk, no club pro to be found(I was searching for one). Tbh, I actually liked the course lay out, the greens were lighting fast, but everything else was anything but green. Very dried out fairways and rough areas, although the dry conditions didn't affect play, just poor esthetics visually. So let's review the review shall we? If you are going to Club Renaissance, absolutely prepare to wait until well after your given tee time. And trust me I counted, there were 12 golf carts waiting on hole number 10 stacked up to tee off. Yet our foursome at the 1:48pm tee time was completely dead last tee off. It literally became a "well we were here first" mentality on hole 10. Never seen anything like that at any reputable golf course/country club.
Pure Course
I had a blast, greens are in great shape. The scenery is beautiful!
Good forceful course
The Club at Renaissance is a good, high quality golf course. Plenty of length, and imbued with lots of treachery - water and big bunkers. The greens are quick and deceptive. The key to conquering this course is accuracy. Approach below the hole to give yourself a chance at birdie. Above the hole is asking allot of most putters.
Club Renaissance
Course was not in the greatest shape. There was a lot of clearing of areas going on which made for less than stellar ambiance. The greens were very sandy. The staff was pleasant.
It's alright
A bit dry. Nothing holds on greens, too much sand on greens. The rough is very rough, like none existent. It is a nice layout. Pace was ok.
Great condition
The course was in great condition. Only downfall was there’s no driving range available and no beverage cart services.
Rude staff
If you don't want to be open to the public than don't allow the public to play. Staff acted like the public was a burden and didn't belong.
Great golf
Excellent golf course. My only complaint is that, there is no range to warm up. Other than that, the place is great. We will be playing again.
Great course without breaking the bank.
Course is a fav on our playlist. Tee boxes and greens are in great shape. Course is well maintained and the layout is still challenging. The only knock could be that it does not have a driving range but if you plan ahead you can go to a driving range earlier in the week to work on your shots. If your having trouble with your swing the day of your game, you have bigger issues.
Club Renaissance
Nice course excellent condition good pace of play. The only downside is that they don’t have a driving range.
Club R
I have played Club Renaissance for over 20 years and loved it then and still love it now. To be able to get to the course an hour before your tee time because the tee sheet is empty to be able to immediately go out and play is absolutely fantastic. We did not see another golfer until we were on the last 5 holes. We finished in less than 4 hours and had a great time.

They Labor Day golf was fantastic. We had a 1:00 PM tee time but when I saw the tee sheet on line there were only 2 or 3 groups out between 12 and 1 and only 2 or 3 groups out after us for the next hour. So we arrived almost an hour early and got out at around 1215PM. The course was empty and we did not see another golfer until a 3 some caught up with us on the last few holes on the back 9. Course was in great shape even with all the rain we have had. There three holes that were cart path only. Could not have asked for a better Labor Day golf outing......
Nice course
Enjoyed my round here. Good pace of play.
I will be back. Staff is welcoming.
