Royal St. Cloud Golf Links - Red/White Course
About
Royal St. Cloud Golf Links is well known for being some of the best links-style golf in Orlando. It is home to three unique nines that all closely follow the traditions of classic Scottish links golf. A round of golf at Royal St. Cloud will make you feel as though you’ve been to the British Isles and back. The Red/White golf course has been improved to make it more player-friendly overall, but the classic links challenges are still there. The course features sod and wood-faced bunkers and there are very few trees on the course. Like on any links course, be prepared to use every club in your bag. Royal St. Cloud Golf Links is also home to a lighted driving range and short game area with practice bunkers for golfers to work on their short game.

Unfulfilled Potential
I originally played this course over a year ago. I really enjoyed it back then. Then l played it yesterday because of all the glowing reviews from a local FB group. I made the hour’ish drive. The staff was fine. The carts are getting old, they’re gas and there’s no GPS. The GPS wouldn’t be that big a deal except there are only 150y stakes. I didn’t see any other yardage markers. And l don’t have GPS on my phone or a range finder. The driving range hitting area is still beat up, and the balls are old and even more beat up. The putting green was sufficient. Now the course… Tee boxes were fine, as were the fairways. The greens and the bunkers not so much. The bunkers had more footprints than a public beach and the greens had multiple unrepaired ball marks on each green. The holes in general were ok, but there was not one hole that made me go - wow. The course has a lot of unfulfilled potential. It’s actually a shame, because it could be incredible. Now l payed $46 (afternoon) + gas. Would l do it again. Probably not unless l was already in the area. If l didn’t have to drive an hour the price would probably be on point for the greater Orlando area.
Play was slow at 5hrs.
Good layout and conditions. 27 holes. Just 1 starter for all. Play was slow at 5 hrs. Gas carts, no GPS. Plenty of sand.
Fun layout
Great shape tee to green
Great staff
Speed of play ok but really could use ranger.
Nice gem
I was really surprised as to how great the conditions of the course were.. greens and fairways were in top shape. value was excellent. Fun round. I would play it again next time I come to the Orlando area.
Royal St. Cloud has elevated greens
Tee to Green Royal Saint cloud was in pretty good shape however, several of the tee boxes were fairly barren. One of the design themes of the course is to have elevated greens, which makes it difficult to get the ball on the green an approach shot. I would recommend the course but be sure to bring your A game
Very Disappointing Experience
We played on February 4/2023. We had a 1204pm tee time for White and Blue 18. The tee times were extremely backed up and they had no carts available. We didn't get out until after 1pm. on Red amd White 18, not what we had booked. The round ended up taking 5 hours. Very overbooked and under managed that day. The course it self was fine. It would be nice to hear from them and perhaps offer another golf experience there.
Winter golf
Conditions of the course were great
Superintendent must have had a bad night. Every pin was in a corner behind a trap and on a side hill.
The course was packed and round took 5 hours but for the cost I would play again
Nice links type layout
Played the Blue & Red 9’s loved the blue red was fine but a little rough around the edges in condition. Great value the charger everyone the same price 👍
Busy
Course, pro shop and practice facilities overly busy- many non-playing practicers taking up the chipping area. Guys pulling vehicles up on the grass to park, carts whizzing all over, golfers parking carts near greens- and not one official out on the course. “Muny” atmosphere. Public course but greens and fairways in great condition considering the amount of play.
Royal Saint Cloud
This is an excellent facility and the quality of the courses is very very good. This is very good go9lfing value. We will definitely return and play this course again.
Room for improvement
We visited the course prior to booking at it all looked very nice. Nice pro shop with some nice clothes and equipment in.
We booked for a 1.20 tee time as it gets dark at 6.15 in February.
We arrived early and were told that we could go straight out at 12.45 as they were "30 minutes ahead of time". Happy days we thought and off we went.
2 holes took 40 minutes and that set the tone for the round! You spend a lot of time sitting in your very noisy buggy than you do playing the course.
At one point we were unsure as to wether or not we'd actually finish the round in daylight.
There are plenty of signs about slow play but quite frankly they're a waste of time.
You actually play 2 nine hole courses so at the turn we then had another golfer come in front of us which after 2 hours 40 minutes was just what we didn't need. By the way he admitted he didn't actually have a tee time as he was a member of staff!
The course is quite pretty with some strange features like telephone boxes and an animal with a calliper on it's leg!
Lots of water and some huge dunes make for some interesting shots.
The greens are poor with about a dozen previous locations very visible and bendy flag sticks.
Fairways are good.
We finally finished after 5 hours just as the sun was setting so it was just as well we went out early.
Long slow golf does nothing for your game and clearly they overbook for the financial benefits.
Sadly I wouldn't recommend this course
