Indian River Preserve Golf Club

As part of green maintenance greens were sanded but do to heavy dew the sand made the greens very difficult to putt. As a jester of fairness the course management rebated 50% of the green fee as acredit for future round. i thought this was very classy.

Second time playing but different tee blocks. If you miss by a yard on approach to the green , you'll find yourself in the water. I'm a 3 hdcp, and thought I played decent. But 7 penalty shots later in the water, the score did not reflect.
The layout was terrific and although the greens looks terrible, the putts still rolled true. Overall course is typical Florida courses at this time of year with many bare grassy areas and I had mud on my ball throughout the game, which affected my iron shots following.
The staff was friendly, and with the GolfNow Hot deal on a weekend, I was very happy regardless of anything. Played with some locals that always seem friendly.
I look forward to playing Walkabouts again soon.

The greens rough and bumpy. Fairways majority weeds and dead patches. This course has been taken over by Casper management group. This course needs a lot of money put in to make it decent again. A shame that a Jan Stephenson gem is in disarray. Will not come back till I hear that it is in better shape.

Course has great layout and loads of potential but lack of maintenance, poor signage and pathways are problems. I rented clubs that were extremely poor value - low quality, well used and had completely worn-out grips - detracted from the overall positive experience.

Played Walkabout the last 3 years during this week in February. The two previous rounds were great. Course was lush and green. This year it was like playing in the pasture next to my house. We did like the addition of the new clubhouse (which we saw being built last year). I hope now that the clubhouse is done they will start focusing on the course because it has so much potential. Please switch to electric carts. Gas carts are so annoying.

Difficult front nine. Fairways in bad shape, many bare spots and very tight lies everywhere else. Greens are in the stages of growing but right now are not good. Good luck trying to putt. Best thing about the layout right now is the new clubhouse but you don,t spend much time there.

The course has a great layout but the greens were in bad shape when we played in mid Feb. The new clubhouse is great.

Almost all fairways have 50/50 grass-dirt and seem to need to just airiate and seed. Greens were ok.

I am an intermediate level player 15-19 hdcp. I tried playing the course from the blue tees and after nine holes moved up to the white tees. I should have started at the red tees and worked backwards. It was the hardest course I have ever played. It has the most magnificent layout. However, I would not take an intermediate player who has ego problems about their game. I consider it to be more like a target course where, unless you hit the right spot to start with, you will be struggling to make a bogey. In order for me to enjoy it, I would have to tee up from the forward tees. My ego wouldn't permit it.

New ownership has things going in the right direction.

Very nice track just north of the Cape. I've played it before and really enjoyed it so I returned, and again thoroughly enjoyed it!
The par threes were very challenging and the layout was nicely routed. Pace of play of three hours and change was excellent!!

I played this course when it was in great shape,what a difference a year makes. Course needs a lot of work.New clubhouse must have cost to much and no money for greenskeeper and staff. Restaurant was very good and nice service.I will not go back and play until course has been reworked.

A couple of forced carries. Good layout. Fairways were sparse and the tee boxes were not in very good shape.

I liked the course, but it was in bad shape, fairways were mostly deadpan and the greens were more like pressed mud and very unpredictable. I would really like to play again in the spring or summer, I'm sure it will be much better. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the Clubhouse is set up beautifully.

Played last year and was looking to come back. Very disappointed in the conditions. I really like the layout but greens and fairways had lots of dare areas and the tee boxes were horrible. Hard to find a flat area. Hope this course comes around.

THE OWNER AND NEW MANAGEMENT NEED TO BRING THE COURSE CONDITIONS UP TO A STANDARD ABOVE A COW PASTURE COURSE .I HAVE PLAYED THERE FOR 10 YEARS AND ITS THE WORST CONDITION I HAVE EVER SEEN.NOW THAT WE HAVE A BIG FANCY CLUB HOUSE THE COURSE NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT UP TO THE SAME STANDARD.HOLE NUMBER 1 NEEDS TO BE COMPLETLY REDONE .MUST HAVE SOME BAD DIRTIN THE BASE .IT HAS NEVER BEEN A GOOD GREEN AS FAR AS GRASS GROWING.

I just played my first round here after the new clubhouse opened. I have been playing at this course since it first opened, and sad to say, it may be in the worst condition I have ever seen. The greens are fine, but the fairways are atrocious.
Yes, our area has had unusual weather conditions, but that doesn't justify the neglected look.
It's also sad to see yet another management company come to one of our courses - they are too focused on the bottom line and not on customer service and quality golf.

the overall condition of the course was terrible, greens were almost mossy very bad, fairways poor huge drop in condition since i played 5 years ago, need some herbicide and pesticide….new clubhouse is amazing !!

The condition of the course has went downhill over the years. Used to look forward to playing this course every year. I hope it improves soon.

The hills & dales are what make this course so much fun. I love playing this course once a month. The course was in pretty good shape, only a few bad spots. The greens thou, needed some major work. Every green had some BALD spots which was disappointing. The new pro shop & restaurant are fantastic!!!!
