Duran Golf Club - Championship Course
About
Duran Golf Club is a local favorite, known for being the best public course in Brevard County. The club is also home to the area's only lighted nine-hole, par-3 course. The course stretches across fertile terrain that was formerly a sod farm, lending some of the lushest playing surfaces on Florida's east coast. The championship layout has a links feel with subtle mounding that frames large, undulating greens. The beautiful landscape comes into play throughout the golf course. Sparkling lakes and ponds, lush grasses, and stately palms all add to the beauty and challenge of the round. Coastal breezes come into play on several holes thanks to the seaside location. Duran Golf Club's practice facility is almost as popular as the 18-hole course. In addition to the par-3 course, there is also a large driving range with mounded areas where you can practice with uphill and downhill lies.

H20 Bring balls and Scuba…and GAME
This was my final round in a 6 week visit to the Space Coast. This was also the most challenging course for my game, due to a combination of tees played (Blue, a bit long for me) and all the water. The facility is great. Nice clubhouse and driving range, with friendly staff and all the amenities. The course layout is nice, generally many gentle doglegs with water along parts of one side (at least). The course has various nuances where it’s helpful to get some tips from locals (which I was lucky to get- like how greens break, where not to hit, etc). There are many fine holes. 18 is like Doral Blue Monster hole, risk reward dogleg left. All in all I highly recommend this course for those playing the Space Coast.
GFood Start; Slow Finish
Staeted as a twosome with a new friend I met on the 1st tee. We played the first 9 at a good pace behind a twosome in front and behind us. Tht ended on the 10th tee where two foursomes and the aformentioned twosome awaited us. We teamed up to make a foursome but after three holes at a snails pace, the twosome we joined abandoned their round. The pace picked up a bit in front of us but it was a slow finish for our round.
Great shape
Course was in great shape, especially given the stress of the summer heat. Greens were fast and rolled true.
Good First: 9; Slow Second 9
Playing as a twosome with a very good golfer I met on the first tee we completed the front nine in around 1.5 vhours. When we got to the tenth there was a foursome on the tee. anothe foursome in the block and a twosome that we teamed up with waiting. After 4 holes thee twosome abandoned their round due to slow play. My new friend round and I completed the nine in a bit over 2 hours but the heat was getting to me.
Absolutely Great
This course was beautiful and tough at the same time. So worth the play and so will be back. Throughly enjoyed it. Staff was great. Definitely recommend to everyone to play it!
First timer with my 16 yr old
Arrived about an hour early with my son because I wanted to take him to a nice course while down on Cocoa Beach. Staff was awesome from valet to pro shop to practice areas and 1st tee box. The fairways and greens were in great shape. Tee boxes wasn’t bad at all. We throughly enjoyed our round. My son had prob the best round he’s ever had and I stayed in the 80’s so not only a good time as far as staff and course but a good day of golf in general. I do wish cart girls/guys would have been seen just a little more but we did see them once. I would definitely recommend this course to any of my friends who come down to Florida and I will also be back to play.
Duran
Tee’d off behind a men’s club. Got paired with two locals, Steve & Mark, had a great time. Condition were great. Company was great. Couldn’t ask for better.
Championship Level Course Not in Condition
Normally this is my favorite course to play in Brevard as the course layout and conditions are usually phenomenal. However, my father and I played on Father’s Day and we were very disappointed with our experience. The group in front of us played obnoxiously slow and there was no ranger to monitor the pace of play. There was no group in front of them, so there was no excuse to play so incredibly slow. We had to wait on every single hole as they spent forever looking for their lost balls and putting like they were on the Tour. Additionally, the greens were just aerated and it was not known when making the tee time reservation. It was impossible to read the greens, which was not fun. I hope this course can get back to the conditions that we are used to playing.
Challenging But Fun
Friendly staff. Stocked pro shop. Generous fairways with plenty of grass. Water in play often off tees. Bunkers were in good shape and strategically located. Greens were in excellent shape but lots of curves. Plenty of practice facilities for driving, chipping and putting. Carts were in good shape and pace of play was excellent - teed off right after a college tournament and finished well under 4-hours. Only issue is a lack of yardage markers/no GPS in carts - bring your rangefinder.
