Moorpark C.C.
Rode the Blues on the Canyon Crest/Ridgeline combo (6473/71.1/128) with Alan twilight in 4H. Very windy conditions, clear and around 80.
Every hole has hazards down one or both sides. All 3 nines are VERY unforgiving on wayward shots, anything more than about 10 yards off most fairways is probably gone. Many holes have elevation changes with forced carries over hazards.
Tees mostly level/lush with few unfixed divots.
Fairways mostly lush with a few browned out spots. Nice to play from.
Rough lush/thick, the ball often sat down.
Green side traps well maintained with nice sand. Fairway bunkers were firmer and less maintained. Many had too many rocks.
Most greens rolled nice. Medium fast speed, firm but still held approach shots well unless down wind. Too many ball marks and a couple of greens had some poor areas.
Customer service was very good from everyone encountered. No cart person today. Nice restaurant onsite. Starter trying to keep things moving. Nice GPS on the comfortable carts. Nice grass driving range and great warm-up/practice area. Recommended.
Moorpark
Rode the Blues on the Canyon Crest/Creekside combo (6504/71.0/130) with John early morning. 4H, 45M POP in very windy conditions. Clear and around 80 by the time we were finishing, but because of the wind did not seem nearly that warm.
Tees mostly level & lush with few unfixed divots.
Fairways nice to play from. Mostly lush with a few browned out spots.
Rough thick and lush. Often challenging to get good club on the ball.
Green side traps well maintained with nice sand. Fairway bunkers were firmer and less maintained with lots of rocks.
Greens rolled nice, medium fast speed, firm but still held approach shots well. Too many ball marks kept them from being excellent.

Every hole has hazards down one or both sides. Many holes have elevation changes with forced carries over hazards. Not a course for beginners. All 3 nines are VERY unforgiving on crooked shots, you can accumulate penalty shots in bunches here if you are more than about 10 yards left or right of almost any fairway.
If you want to be challenged, this is a picturesque layout up/down rolling hills that is usually not super crowded. Moorpark can be a really challenging track. Recommended.
Creekside-Ridgeline
Rode the Blues on the Creekside/Ridgeline combo (6535/71.5/132) with GK Gurus John, Matt and Johnny in slightly over 4.5H twilight. Really easy going and enjoyable group to play with. The weather was nice. Bright, sunny and in the 60's with little wind most of the day. Thanks to Moorpark CC for having us out!
First time here in 3 1/2 years, course was pretty busy, 4some after 4some teeing off before us. Moorpark can be a really challenging track. Most holes have hazards down one or both sides. Many holes have elevation changes and forced carries over hazards, this is not a course for beginners. All 3 nines are VERY unforgiving on crooked shots, you can accumulate penalty shots in bunches here if you are more than about 10 yards left or right of almost any fairway.

Greens rolled nice, medium fast speed, firm but still held approach shots well. Lots of ball marks kept them from being excellent.
Customer service was very good from everyone encountered. No cart person today. Starter trying to keep things moving. Nice GPS on the comfortable carts that had a COVID shield down the middle. $20 extra if you wanted a single rider cart.
Only negative was the constant messages telling you that you are 10, then 15, finally 20 minutes behind pace. We started #1 with the hole vacant and were waiting on 17 and 18 tee for the group in front of us to clear. How do you speed up? Also, it does nothing but slow things down to have the yardage part of the GPS blocked until you clear the speed up messages. Irritating.
Nice grass driving range and great warm-up/practice area. One of the few semi private courses in Ventura County. If you want to be challenged, this is a picturesque layout up/down rolling hills that is usually not super crowded. Definitely recommended.
Great course!
Great course in a beautiful landscape. Some holes are amazing! Fairways and greens are in very good shape.
Interesting - Potential
This is a fun and interesting 27 hole facility. The conditions are usually good, especially considering most of the courses in the central coast are a little substandard. This place has a lot of potential, they just need to improve the playability on a few of the tricked up holes. The Creekside 9 has a few holes that need just a little better landing zone and a little larger green side miss area. Most really good courses with forced carries and drop ravines have a little larger green setting with at least one Miss/bailout area. The setting and views are nice, and the overall feeling is peaceful. One major thing that Is an issue is the dramatic number of speed bumps on the cart paths, after a while you feel like your driving around on an amusement park ride instead of playing golf. This place could be great, just needs a little softening around the edges.
Great experience
This course was recommended by a golfer we played with the day before at another course. So we booked MP-CC. What a great track - there is nothing I can say more than we have an awesome day. The fairways, greens, driving range and staff was awesome!
We will be back again the next time in the LA market.
Pace
Everything was on par for Moorpark CC
Greens were amazing and fast, true and pure.
Tee boxes were okay.. over all 8-10... pace was just awful. People playing wrong tees and what not but overall a great day. They’re punching the greens soon so beware but they’re AWESOME right now
Great time !! I've played here before many times and I always enjoy it, except for Creekside ! That 9 always puts a whoopin on me : )
Feedback
Beautiful mountain golf course with 3 nine holes for choice. But the pace of play was very slow and you could see 2 or 3 groups waiting at one tee. We even didn't see a marshall there. I don't think it worth that price from customer experience aspect.
Brown course
Fairways were a bit brown and uneven, greens were punched not too long ago and are still in rough shape. Whole course is below par for Moorpark cc normal standards. Very much like a nice mini course. Very brown for this time of year compared to other courses in the county. Im sure it will get better. Staff were excellent again.
The course was in teriffic shape and the green read true and fast. The landscape gave a feeling of getting away from it all. We didn't have to contend with "crabby, viney" grasses. Event he sand was fair. One of the better golf experiences i have encountered. the starter was especially helpful.
Great Course!!
The course was a lot of fun and the staff were very friendly. They were doing some minor work on some of the holes but it didn’t slow down the place of play. The greens were in terrific shape as were most of the fairways. I will come play again!!
Pace of play was very slow
Waited 10 minutes every hole, and I didn’t see a marshal around.
Great Course.
Great Course. Great condition.
27 Holes always keeps play moving!
Enjoyable Round
Course in beautiful condition. Very friendly staff. Pace of play great for w-end. Fun round.
