Camarillo Springs Golf Course

The course is coming along since they first began the renovation but still much work to be done. If you find yourself off fairway even the slightest you are met with hard packed, construction site dirt or hills pot-marked with endless gopher holes. Several tee boxes still need work. Tee placement by course management is very questionable often putting holes, slopes, or patchy surfaces where you need to stand.

Once this course is back to its former glory it will be a great place for a round!

I have played courses all over Ventura County, but I have never encountered an experience as appalling as the one my group had here. We will never return, and we are actively warning our friends and fellow golfers to stay away.

Let's start with the absolute low point of the day: the marshal. He is an older guy with long hair who acts like a rogue cowboy on a total power trip. Despite the fact that there was literally no one in front of us and no one behind us holding anyone up, he aggressively harassed us the entire round. It culminated in him actually threatening to kick us off the property if we didn't skip two holes—even though open space stretched out behind us. The situation nearly boiled over. It was completely unacceptable harassment, and it ruined what should have been a relaxing day out.

To make matters worse, the course conditions are completely horrendous. The turf is dirty and thick, the grass is poorly kept from tee box to green, and the overall maintenance is practically non-existent. For the price point, the layout is an embarrassment.

The only redeeming quality was the clubhouse staff, who were actually pleasant and provided good customer service when we checked in. Unfortunately, they are fighting a losing battle with a facility that is run-down and employing a hostile, harassing marshal.

Save your money, save your sanity, and play literally anywhere else in the county. Skip Camarillo Springs.

From the moment I checked in at the pro shop everything was perfect! All Stolla’s was super helpful and friendly. Played with a couple of regulars that were a gas! Greens were fair and in good shape! Keep it up!

I've played Camarillo Springs 4 times this year. Each time I see improving conditions implemented by the new owners. There is still a way to go but the effort to improve the course is very encouraging.

I played Camarillo Springs last March. There is marked improvement since then even though 2 holes have temporary tee boxes. The greens are in great condition. The fairways show the most improvement and the ponds all have water. The driving range is very popular since the addition of swing electronics. It was full. I'm happy for the new owners to be enjoying a resurgence of play on their course.

Nice Course For Say The Intermediate Player To Learn Shotmaking Shots .. Greens Are Nicely Kept Up For Accurate Putts .. Only Thing I’d Like To See Would Be Better Kept Up Tee Boxes

First time playing $26 hot deal at 1209 on a Friday POP 4 hours. Tee boxes not level, not good 2/10, fairways bare in spots, but you can find average lies 3/10, holes 12/13 terrible, but some holes were average. I was in one green side trap on 16 that had good sand, just needed to be turned 4/10. Greens were the best part, medium slow 6/10. Overall the layout is good 6/10 and the staff was 10/10. There were workers everywhere and everyone was friendly. We ran into a slow group on 14. The Marshall came by and asked us if the group ahead was slow, I said they were and he said something to them and we never saw them again. You can tell that they are trying to improve the course. This is a practice course and if you go into it knowing that and you pay $25-$35 with a cart I would recommend it.
