Camarillo Springs Golf Course
About
Situated at the base of the Conejo Mountain, Camarillo Springs Golf Course was carefully carved from the mountain's towering rock formations but it gets its name from the scenic water features that can be found throughout. Naturally, water is the primary challenge on this course, coming into play on eleven holes. There are also long par 3s that will require a sharp iron game. The course offers a fair test of your skills but the elevation changes are modest and the player-friendly fairways are wide and forgiving, which make the course more accessible to beginners. The golf course has a memorable start with a par-4 second hole, which is a tricky dogleg left from an elevated tee that features one of the best views on the course. The consistently good course conditions and the affordable rates have garnered Camarillo Springs a strong following among local golfers.

Round on the 20th
I understand that the course is under new ownership and we are excited about that. The driving range looks amazing. I know the new management is going to slowly make tons of improvements. Obviously the tee boxes are rough but im sure everyone is aware of that. The greens were the best I’ve seen in 5 years. We are local and have been playing cammy for 45 yrs. We are really pumped to see whats to come. The whole facility has so much potential to be a great club. Thanks
Cut the grass
Overall, this is a decent course with some clear positives, but the conditioning holds it back. The biggest issue is the grass, especially around the greens. Too much of the course has thick, uncapped grass that isn’t cut short enough. When chipping from about 30 yards out, the ball tends to stick instead of rolling, even just a few feet off the fringe. The fringe itself also isn’t maintained well, which adds to the inconsistency.
Because of the overgrown areas, it’s easy to lose balls, even on shots that don’t seem that far off line. Pace of play was also slow, which didn’t help the overall experience.
That said, the course does have its upsides. It’s noticeably cooler than many other spots around Los Angeles, so it can be a good option on hotter days. And the driving range is excellent, easily five stars.
Fix the grass and improve maintenance around the greens, and this course could be much better. As it stands, it’s a solid but flawed three-star experience.
Still needs work
I appreciate that they are working to make the course better and like the new range. The greens are still a little rough and the fairways needs help. For the money right now it’s OK, I hope prices don’t go up once they’re done with renovations and allow the new revenue from the range to supply the financing for the rest of the course. I would also like to see a restaurant or some sort of food to be available on a regular basis.
Remodel
Looking forward to the course completing its renovations
Great job so far
Long way to go, but the course can be one of the best course in So Cal
Great people great time
Scotty
Keep it in the fairways. Overgrown rough has you looking hard to find your ball.
Looks like a few plumbing problems a few holes have saturation in the fairways and by the greens
Greens are fast and in good shape.
Would like to play it again when the rough is cleaned up a bit.
Scotty, Thanks for sharing your honest feedback! We appreciate your insights on the rough and plumbing issues that you saw. We are repairing drainage to help the course long-term. It's great to hear you enjoyed the greens. We're committed to improving the course and hope to welcome you back soon for a better experience!
Course is coming back to life⛳️
First of all, you gotta give credit to the new owners/ maintenance crew they are working their butts off to make it a more enjoyable experience. The driving range is absolutely amazing. Give it a shot.
Thank you for your feedback! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the driving range and truly appreciate your recognition of our maintenance team’s hard work! We’re committed to renovating this property - we have a plan and hope to see you back soon for more great moments!
Fix the T boxes
Enjoyed the round. The condition of the course continues to improve every time I play.
The Tee boxes are in desperate need of repair.
Thank you for your feedback! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your round and appreciate your recognition of the course improvements. We will be working on the tee boxes once the irrigation for those tees is repaired! Thank you for the support as we continue to enhance the experience for all our golfers. Hope to see you again soon!
Tee boxes
The new owners are doing an amazing job. Chainsaw crew opend the place up beautifully. The new owners obviously don't know what everybody wanted improved first and everybody talks about it EVERY time I play there. THE WORST TEE BOXES IN 3 COUNTIES. Obviously the most advanced driving range around with shot tracker technology at every mat. But unfortunately you hit off a mat wh8ch is a waste of time to alot of serious players because its nothing like reality. That's why I travel to ranges that have grass range. Covid saved the golf industry in southern California so there's more people playing golf today than ever before. Courses were closing constantly before covid. So most newbies dont realize hitting off mats is nothing like playing the game on grass. The club bounces,,,,no divot,,,etc.etc. A very rare situation at Camarillo Springs is that they dont have enough carts so they usually force you to ride with a stranger. Nobody appreciates a course where having your own cart is a luxury. Booooo! There's a sign near the entrance that says Camarillo Springs is not responsible for damage to vehicles in the parking lot,,,,but CARTS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE PARKING LOT. Another rare inconvenience. But,the course was neglected for decades,,,it hasn't looked this good in 12 or 15 years. Water in the ponds, greener fairways, the greens are good, the staff is hospitable. It will obviously inconvenience the player when its time to repair the tee boxes that you hear people complain about on other courses 30 miles away. When the tee boxes are more undulated than the greens......its serious.
Thank you for the kind words on the progress, and your weekly support. I've addressed this before on your other posts, and we all want better tee boxes - we're more than aware. First step to that is irrigation. The infrastructure of this course was nonexistent, and over 13 months we've chipped away at it with much more to go.
We have a plan, which takes time, and resource to get there. Make no mistake about it, this renovation was a big undertaking - it has come far in 13 months and has much further to go. Step one, infrastructure. Thank you for your support.
Thank you for the 4-star rating! We appreciate your support and are glad you enjoyed your experience. We’re always looking to improve and hope to see you again soon!
The course is looking better each time I play here
Will return
Thanks for the great feedback! We’re thrilled to hear you’ve noticed the improvements, and we're committed to continuing them. Your support means a lot to us!
Progress
Great progress
Course will soon be one of the best in SoCal
We need sand in the bunkers
But the staff are great
And the upgrades are promising !!!!!
My home course in high school
This is, and was, and still is my home course! It can only get better! The staff has always been great and I look forward to clean fairways and rolled greens.. I heard you guys got a roller? That is a game changer to " no break" springs.. Thank you to all that are putting in effort to get this course back!
Can notice the steady work to improve the course .
Enjoy playing there , will return . Greens in pretty good shape
The course is beginning to get new life back⛳️💪🏼
The course is definitely starting to get back into decent playing condition Very excited. I’ve always liked the layout of this course. The new ownership is doing an amazing job. Can’t wait for the range to open.⛳️⛳️
Renovation
Looking forward to the final result of the renovation.
Great job, hopefully maybe another year and it will be done
Could be better maintained but views are beautiful
If this course was well maintained it could be a country club course. Instead the conditions are pretty bad. It’s currently under new ownership and they are building a new driving range with launch monitors so hopefully that means better conditions. The bathrooms and pro shop seem like they’re in temporary structures and I didn’t see a bar or cart girls, but they have a decent selection of beverages. It’s a challenging course and has so much potential!
Course being renovated
Good track overall being steadily renovated but great for cheap rounds. Unfortunately no kitchen open so bring snacks and drinks with you.
Shame, needs a refresh.
Awful course conditions. The place has so much potential, it really needs a refresh. An investor to come along and bring this place to its potential. Chewed up, uneven tee boxes. Dry concrete brown fairway sections. Get it together guys...
