The Lakes Barcelo Golf Course

Let’s start at the beginning, security made it very difficult for us to get on the resort grounds. There was no bag drop off, the starter was a long walk from the pro shop and the walk went through the hotel breakfast area. The starter gave us 4 bottles of water in a cooler filled with ice for 2 golfers, we were told the bar cart would provide us with water, soft drinks and beer included in the price of the green fee, we saw him once during the entire round. The fairways were in terrible shape with patches of crab grass everywhere, the greens were patched and very ugly making it very difficult to putt. If the grounds crew would spend more time maintaining the grounds and blowing the leaves off the greens instead of trying to sell us golf balls maybe this course would be nicer. This course charges $111 US and it is no way near what it is worth. I will never play here again nor will I recommend it to anyone.

Although it rained heavily just before our round, the course was not very wet, so we were happy that the course was a little softer. Turned out to be a nice day and the golf was fantastic.

From checkin, starter, beverage cart, to checking out. I loved the layout, course directions were well marked from Every Green to tee. Club Pro David joined me on the Back nine, that helped as I just followed his on lay of the land. Will 100% when I am back in Bavaro

Driving range condition very poor, range balls needed replacing years ago. Tees in fair to poor condition. , greens slow and shaggy.

The front nine was terrible.

Back nine was in better condition.

Holo 19 restaurant was the best part of the day.

I think 3/18 holes were over the water shots with minimal room for forgiveness and on a windy day this course can be frustrating to play. Beautiful course, well maintained. Pace of play, I don’t think anyone monitors it in the Dominican. Beautiful facilities. Pricey, but well priced for the Dominican. Not the friendliest staff, but have everything you could need.

It's my first time play the course. The layout is very good. The fairway is well maintained. The greens have some blemish. Several of them need repairs.

They need to find a wsy to grow Grass on the greens

Golf bal on the range are do bad.

Course had a nice layout. That said everything else was meh. Fairways were long and bumpy. Bunkers full of rock and the sand was like concrete , greens were 50% dead and the pro shop was overpriced (70$ USD for a box of pinnacles).

It is a vacation course, so I expect good conditions for the price, regular price 150$. Range had no balls, carts were rusty and didn’t appear safe.

Some nice holes and cool layout, albeit easier layout than I’m used to. But unplayable bunkers and dead greens don’t make it golf focused.

Lower your expectations.

Very bad condition fairway and specially the green

The course layout was great, a mixture of easier and more challenging holes. When I was there, the course was extremely wet and muddy. If they tell you it's cart path only, then it's likely to be muddy. Friendly staff.

Green conditions were horrible, half of the grass dead on the green and not maintained well at all. Fairway was so muddy due to poor drainage systems,,, not good. I don’t recommend this course at all. Save your money!

We played on Christmas Day to have some fun and there was a no starter, looks like play your own. However green conditions were horrible!!! Not just one hole but 97% holes were really Bad! I couldn’t believe they can run golf course like this. And most fairway was so wet like muddy. I don’t recommend this course at all.

Great lay out and friendly staff! Clubhouse and restaurant are great.

Course needs to attention esp wet spots , spotty greens , and bunkers . Overall - not bad for a casual round during vacation
