The Lakes Barcelo Golf Course

The course layout was great, a mixture of easier and more challenging holes. When I was there, the course was extremely wet and muddy. If they tell you it's cart path only, then it's likely to be muddy. Friendly staff.

Green conditions were horrible, half of the grass dead on the green and not maintained well at all. Fairway was so muddy due to poor drainage systems,,, not good. I don’t recommend this course at all. Save your money!

We played on Christmas Day to have some fun and there was a no starter, looks like play your own. However green conditions were horrible!!! Not just one hole but 97% holes were really Bad! I couldn’t believe they can run golf course like this. And most fairway was so wet like muddy. I don’t recommend this course at all.

Great lay out and friendly staff! Clubhouse and restaurant are great.

Course needs to attention esp wet spots , spotty greens , and bunkers . Overall - not bad for a casual round during vacation

First time playing here in the country overall. Course was friendly for an average golfer myself. Staff was great, locker rooms clean, staff cleans your clubs when your done and the girl in the cart driving around asking us if we needed something to drink was clutch. Where a lot of sun screen tho, it was scorching. Would stay on site next time!

The girl for the beer came on hole number 3 and we never saw her again.

Course is fine. Decent layout. Tricky well protected greens. Thin fairways. Have to think your way round. Driver can go too long. Sad to see so much rubbish around the course. Lots of bottles etc.

BUT. Staff not the most friendly. I. Pro shop felt like we were an inconvenience. Then trying to get a snack at 9th hole proved impossible. It was baking hot and we were starving. Acted as if we were crazy. No crisps or chocolate. No nothing. Waitresses pro shop staff completely disinterested to tjebpoj tog being rude.

You get what you pay for. Was fine for what it was. But go prepared.

Really enjoyed this course. The conditions could improve a little, but overall, I was pleased with the layout. Lots of water all over the course forces you to work on your accuracy.

Great holes and water features - greens good condition and fairways

Practice facilities suck but the course is not bad. Was very quiet, until 14th when hit sevreal foursomes and it was super slow. Staff were great.

Pace of play was pretty good, was teamed up with another husband/wife couple. After you leave the golf shop, they point you in the direction of the cart barn, where you lug your clubs with nobody there to assist you. After getting a cart, the guy points to the direction of the 1st tee/starter which you drive to and find nobody there. The course has a pretty decent layout with several challenging holes, a few like #17 at Sawgrass. the greens were not too tricked out and not particularly fast. Not much break either until it gets close to the cup. Reasonably priced for a resort course with nice bathrooms onsite and a friendly beverage girl.

Nice course and challenging. There were no range balls and no attendant to get balls. Had to go find someone to get balls.

Despite “prepaying” $115/pp on GolfNow, the course pro shop demanded $100/pp EXTRA upon arrival, due to NOT staying on property. Golf Now ticket case # 11732451 created same day. Awaiting response.

In addition, the greens were ALL in rough shape. We had to take 2-putt maximums to make the course even playable. Not worth the original price, let alone the “extra” fees.
