Spessard Holland Golf Course

Spessard Holland is a short course (par 67) with just one par 5, but there are plenty of sand traps and water hazards to keep it interesting. It is between the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean, with several holes on the river. Although the parking lot was full, we were neither held-up nor pushed. Overall an enjoyable round on a bright, sunny warm day!

This course is well-maintained and is a great value for the price paid. This executive coure has just the right level of challenge for the beginner. More water than I prefer, but hey, this is Florida. Staff could bit a bit more friendly---starter was cordial, but the clubhouse staff is afraid to smile.

Fun challenging course however fairways are fairly close together.

I was surprised to find out this was an executive course, however this did not take a way from the experience. The course was in great shape and the pace of play was good on the front and slowed down a bit on the back. I think this is partly due to some of the older folks getting tired. It is located right between the ocean and the inter coastal water way and a lot of retired people. ;o)

It's just a par 67 but it is tree and water lined. You need to place your tee shots.

Lots of water, well maintained greens, beautiful views and very friendly staff.

Greens recently seeded and were fast. Well maintained.
Varied layout ( some open - some narrow ) creates a challenge for all but low handicapped players.
Excellent putting, chipping, and sand trap practice area.
Located across from the ocean and bordering the river usually allows cool winds to help on hot days.

This course is in good shape for this time of year greens a little slow because of over seeding.

The course is very nice. The atmosphere is a beach setting, if fact there is a free beach park right across the road from the course walking distance for the non-golfers in your group if you are vacationing. The course itself is well maintained and the 19th hole has a nice grill and friendly staff. I live in the area and this is my second favorite course. My favorite being The Habitat, also featured by GolfNow. The course is well laid out with the with some sand and water to make it a little more challenging.

I have already set up a foursome this Thangsgiving with some friends who are coming down for PURE golf !!!

This course is always in tremendous shape. Yesterday the greens were almost professional speed. Very enjoyable place to play.

Good value for the price. Staff were friendly and efficient. Greens were in good condition as well.

I've played this course a few times and had a great time. Don't let the yardage fool you as there is plenty challenge here for good golfers too.
