Stewart Peninsula Golf Course
About
Stewart Peninsula offers a nine-hole golf course along Lake Lewisville with dual greens on every hole. On the first round, you'll play from the red tees to the red flags, and on the back you'll go yellow to yellow. After a straightforward opening hole where the only real problem is a pesky fairway bunker, nos. 2 and 3 start a trend of interesting holes. No. 2 offers completely different looks from each set of tees. The right side pin placement presents problems because of the lake, and the left flag rests close to greenside mounding that will send balls bounding afar. Misses here should find the bunkers, as the recovery is not all that difficult from the sand. Stewart Peninsula's third hole is probably the signature, and a 250-yard drive will put you in prime position to go at the multi-tiered green. Avoid missing back right, as the up-and-down is especially difficult from that side.

Nice view
Course was in okay shape for feb! First one out so play was fast. Nice view of the lake. Good for a quick little round. Short course with some decision making shots.
Great views
Great view of the lake and hills. A nice challenging par 9 course.
Great winter round
i can tell that this course is definitely a hidden gem. Will definitely be playing again
70 in February .... Degrees that is
Great day, great views. Started early so no wait. Noticed making the turn could be difficult on a busy day. Very friendly staff.
Typical public behavior ruins a decent course
This course is set up very nicely for the beginner and the intermediate level golfers. No hole is particularly difficult, yet all offer a challenge. The problem has always been the clientele. Slow players don't let you play through. People don't rake bunkers. And there are cigarette butts everywhere. Most of the time I avoid the course because of the people. You may have better luck.
Enjoyable and challenging course....
I have not played in quite some time here. However I decided to give it a go. I was glad that I did since the course, for the most part, is in good shape. The greens were really nice since there were virtually NO divots to fix. Everyone who worked there was very cordial and a pleasure to talk to.
Even though the holes are short on the scorecard. Do not let that deceive you into thinking there are no hard challenges and choices to make in your round. Be ready and play smart and you will be happier with your score.
I love the links style and unfortunately in this area, there are few to choose from. I will be back soon and will make this a part of my regular rotation for weekend golf. Also, there is something to be said about a course near water and being on the first tee box as the sun is rising. Very awesome...
Unique little 9 hole course with a twist.
The course is ran well and in good shape for this time of the year.nthey use dual tee boxes and flags. The is really challenging and being on the lake there is no shortage of wind.
Terrific Day at SP
I am now a fan of this course after playing it the 2nd time. I found the course quite challenging even though it is short. The greens and aprons are in great condition. Tee boxes are good and there are many levels to choose from. Having the dual greens truly made the holes feel different. Staff was really friendly and I owe Brandon a thanks for allowing me to play even though I was late on arrival. For the money, thius course is a great choice. I will be back and am happy to have another course to call one of my favorites.
The 9th/18th hole is really awesome for a view of Lake - as the fog rolled in I felt like I was playing in Scotland :). Also blessed with encountering the largest herring I have ever seen! Great course !
9 hole course
this is a 9 hole course with 2 different tee box and 2 different pins on each green to play 18 holes. course was kept very well. need a map to find where the next hole is after completing one. had a good time, most holes were short.
Staff if top notch!
Fun place to play, and they have live music on the weekends too!
Great views and challenge!
This course has always been one of my favorites. Management has always been friendly and personal. Course is always in great shape and grounds staff is experienced and dedicated to being the best. I will say that beginners need to bring a bag of balls because it is challenging but a lot of fun!!! Food is high quality. Priced just right as well.
Great lake views!
Nice 9 hole course with split greens/tee boxes that give it an 18 hole feel. Staff is friendly - no beer cart so you need to load up on beverages/food in the clubhouse. Fun course and greens are in good shape.
Course changes for the worse
I used to play at Stewart Peninsula a lot but a while back I moved across town so it's not so close by anymore. I noticed a lot of changes to the course and clubhouse when I went back. A very bad thing that has happened is they grew the rough out so long that the ball gets lost in it. And I mean just one foot off the fairway or 10 feert off the green. Have you ever tried to find a ball, or hit it, out of 5 and 6 inch bermuda rough? Our foursome lost at least 5 balls that we knew had just barely missed the fairway, but they were sunk so far down we couldn't find them. That made us play slow too with all the looking. And it is impossible to hit a ball out of that rough when you find it, best you can do it hit a wedge out towards the fairway. We won't go back, it was too hard, no fun. Prices were up quite a bit too, $36 for a round and that is too much for there. Used to be about $27 not very long ago. Other things that changed are there are a bunch of cheap signs all up and down the entry driveway advertising the food and beer they sell. The old signs were nice wood signs that matched the signs throughout the neighborhood. The new ones are cheap and just ugly to look at. I am surprised the city and the neighborhood let them put them up. Also their is music playing outside the clubhouse on the porch, rock music, that is distracting when you are trying to hit off the first and tenth tee. And you haer it on the putting green. Its a great location over looking the lake, it should be quiet and peaceful. We didn't stay for a drink afterwards, didn't want to have to talk over the music that they decided we must like.
Great course
Awesome course, friendly staff, excellent pace of play. Surrounded by beauty. Great experience.
S P Colony
Friendly staff. The Greens are in great shape. The course is deceiving, looks easy, but found it to be a challenging track.
Great location
I enjoy playing golf at Stewarts peninsula. Great location, friendly staff for the most part, well kept golf course!! The scenery is my favorite thing about this golf course!!! Very friend owner!
Great value
Fun course with great views and challenging holes. Can have lake effect winds sometimes, so that can increase the difficulty some. Enjoy playing there and the staff is great. Recommend this course to all skill levels
Poorly managed. Management has no concept of customer service
Played this course many times. Scenery and location are ok. New ownership recently and the course has gone downhill. Staff is rude and inconsiderate to customers. Pace of play is slow and mismanaged. Food is bad and very overpriced. Many better full 18 hole options within 5 miles. $36 for a round at this course is too much. 9 holes, crummy conditions, carts on last leg. If you like rude treatment and bad conditions you might consider this course. I personally will not be back. Golfer beware!!!!
play 9 holes twice
Playing the same 9 holes from different tee spots was a little different but gave some variety. Worked well until high school let out and the students came in on the same course. Got a bit crowded then but not too bad. Overall a good experience and would play it again.
Great views great value
For $36 on Saturday morning this place can't be beat. It is not a typical layout not is it overly challenging. It is a clever layout and use if the terrain by a great architect who designed the course across the lake that costs 4 times as much to play.
