Foxtail Golf Club - South Course
About
There are two championship courses at Foxtail Golf Club, the North and the South. Situated in the heart of wine country, both courses enjoy a lush, scenic landscape and pleasant views of the surrounding countryside. The longer and more difficult North Course was completely redesigned to make it more challenging but the player-friendly South Course has remained a favorite destination of both Sonoma and Marin Counties for its playability. It provides a more beginner-friendly option than the North, but there are still plenty of challenges in store. No water hazards come into play but there are several strategically placed bunkers as well as trees lining the fairways. In addition to the two golf courses, Foxtail also boasts one of the best practice facilities in the North Bay. There is a full driving range available as well as chipping and putting greens.

Fun to play
I allways enjoy playing hear. I really like the north couers. I would pay the xtra money and play on that side. The prices of the drinks ant cheap. Otherwise I will allways come and play.
Great Greens
Course is in fantastic shape, except the sand traps…
Reservation
I actually booked the wrong date and no showed I called the course to apologize and actually booked tee times for 6/24/22. I’m hoping I won’t get charged the service or course fees. On my account. The person at the course said that Golf Now handles that. Please advise.

Nice big golf course
This place had a great layout for 18 holes great prices for Father’s Day special!!
Great Experience
Overall great experience! Friendly staff, well kept course and nothing to complain about. For an average player this course was ideal and good for saving on lost balls. Would definitely recommend this course.
Nice track
Lots of dog legs left and some right. Fairways and greens are in good to excellent condition. Would play again without question. Pace of play on the second nine was a little slow but not unbearable for Friday afternoon
Friendly staff
Staff super friendly. Nice practice facility. Pace of play was good. Course is fairly open but also has a lot of sand and some water. Greens were in great shape. Decent fairways. Rough is shotty. Tees need to cut. Overall good experience.
Good place to play
It’s really good. I played with my wife and we have a great time
Nice course
Fairways and greens were in good shape. Tees needed to be mowed. Rough needed much mowing. Thought I was dealing with US Open conditions. Very hard to find my ball even if it was just off the fairway. Very good practice area. Challenging course but generally fair.
Awful pace of play
Took 5 hours and 10 minutes for 18 holes. Checked in for our 12:10 tee time with the starter at 12:08. He let the 12:00 tee time putt before they went off cause there was no one in front of them. We got pushed back. Ended up taking forever.
Rough is way too deep and putting out of bunkers
Stay out of the rough or you will lose your ball. Slows the pace of play as every group is walking around looking for balls in the thick, deep rough. The bunkers are so hard you can put out of them around the green.
Greens and fairways are in great condition as long as you can stay in them you’ll have a good day.
Bunkers for days
Played both sides now. I like the south side better. However my friend loved the north better. He Got a hole in 1/eagle on 16 par3. Stole my thunder on my birthday lol. It is across from the south side. Little sketchy getting to the first hole through a red light on a busy intersection to a lonely guy sitting at a podium who collects your receipt so don’t lose it. The greens were freaking unbelievable. I have only been playing 2 years but been to allot of courses in Northern California the greens are the best there. The rough around the greens were pretty penalizing but you could jump it out good if you hit it clean. Finesse baby
Best in a long time
I’ve played Foxtail south a few times befor and this time the course was. In the best condition the tee boxes, fairways and greens were in great conditions. The rough was not as bad as my other experiences. Only lost 3 balls.
Great course
Best layout in the north bay. Fun course offered an array of different types of holes
