Carts for all on the weekends
We played 9 holes and it took 2:39 min. We were behind two walkers but they were hitting multiple shots and it took forever to finish 18. No Marshall, no cart person with drinks to help the slow play. So all 4 of us playing agreed that weekend should be golf cart only due to slow play when walking and hitting more than one shot. Loved the course. Disliked the flow of the play.
Great course, terrible experience.
It's unfortunate that such a beautiful golf course has repeatedly provided such a poor experience. My last round here last fall was gruelingly slow, due to an abundance of walker of advanced age playing at a snails pace. This course is relatively long, and though it's absolutely walkable, when paired with terrible golf, it brings the pace of play to a grinding halt. A round of golf here should take no more than 4 to 4.25 hours.
Today (Friday), our tee time was 12:30pm. We teed off on time, but very quickly had to sit and wait for the threesome of short hitting walkers to clear. If it takes you 7 shots on a par 5 to even reach the green, you might be playing a course that is beyond your abilities.
At no time today did I see a Marshall to usher along pace of play. Calls to the or shop fall upon deaf ears. It's such a shame, because it truly is a great course with beautiful scenery and tricky greens. Definitely avoid this place on a weekend, because it'll be chocked full of snails and turtles taking their sweet time for an 5 plus hour round. Dear BV, please do something about pace of play. Everyone deserves to enjoy the course, but without a Marshall proactively keeping the flow moving, golfers will default to believing they are the center of the universe.
Play well, play fast.
Play badly, PLAY FASTER!
Wet Conditions
The course is good but the fairways (1 and 9 especially) were wet. Lost plugged balls and took a while to clean shoes. Other than that the condition of the fairways, the course is good.
Cool, track…lots of “jail time”
The course is hard because of how tight it is! I brought my stepson out there for our first round together in about two years. I play all the time. He had not played in a while. We got paired up with a nice couple and really enjoyed the course and the round. Course was in great shape with greens rolling fast and a little crunchy from the sun and the hear in early Sept. We will definitely be back. The pesto chicken sandwich and burger at the turn were excellent. I would like to make more birdies and break 80 next time. There is some course knowledge involved here to score well. I feel like hole 1 is a birdie hole..and some of the down wind holes. A couple of shorter par5s are gettable.
As Good As It Gets Public Course
Quite honestly, this was one of the best maintained public tracks I’ve played recently.
No complaints about the tee boxes, fairways, rough or greens. The fairways are slightly tight and lined with mature trees on just about every hole. Multiple greens are rather well protected by sand traps and knowing the pin placement can come in handy as several of the greens are tiered, which could make your putt difficult depending on where you land.
The staff was great, pace of play was excellent for a Friday morning tee time.
I would say the only thing that would elevate this course for the more experienced golfer would be a longer set of tees. Some might find this course a little easy.
Hidden Gems !
On a long winding road through a beautiful valley and there it’s a beautiful walkable golf course with all the Redwoods and massive Oak trees
Great place to get your aiming down
The weather is perfect for golf
Great friendly staffs and the restaurant there is a great place to kick back come on Tuesday 5$ Taco
We happen to drive by and we ended up playing a round and spending our 25 th Anniversary there
Thanks guys we appreciate you !
Course has some of the best greens
Played here a few times before. Every time I play this course I like it a little bit more. Too many trees if you are not hitting the ball straight. If you get lucky and put it in the fairways most 2nd shots will be on the green. This is where this course is in excellent condition. All greens are very well kept. Great value overall.
A bit redundant...
Very firm and fast today - tees through greens. A lot of rollout on putts.
Pace of play not great for midday weekday. Seem to be getting lots of play.
Club house seemed well designed and accommodating.
pace of play
course was backed up so we had to jump around but still played 18 holes
